00:22After Vice President Sara Duterte fulfilled the deliberation

00:26regarding the budget of the Office of the Vice President,

00:29the House Appropriations Panel made a decision.

00:32The OVP requested a budget of more than Php 2 billion

00:35will be reduced to more than Php 1.2 billion.

00:38Therefore, what will remain in their fund is only Php 733 million.

00:43The Committee on Appropriations has 139 members

00:48and with respect to the budget cut of the OVP,

00:53this was a unanimous decision among the members.

00:58What was affected to the OVP

01:00is that the programs of the national agencies

01:04and the budget for the satellite offices are the same.

01:07We saw that there are redundant social programs,

01:12programs that are being implemented,

01:15that there are programs in the national government agencies.

01:22Why are there so many satellite offices

01:24that were not made by our previous vice presidents?

01:28Why do we need such a large-scale and nationwide presence?

01:34But the beneficiaries of the social programs of the OVP

01:39should not be the vice president himself

01:41because the assistance will continue.

01:44They will just transfer the funds to the programs

01:47such as the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation or IX of the DSWD

01:52and Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients

01:56or MAIFI program of the DOH.

01:59When asked if the OVP did not contribute to the decision,

02:04its absence did not shed light on many issues.
