00:00You can't make this up. Trump stepped onto the debate stage with a rock-hard foundation
00:05that would make any makeup artist blush. But for our expert, the dead giveaway was something
00:10most people missed.
00:12The highly-anticipated debate between presidential hopefuls Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala
00:16Harris took place on September 10, and everyone can agree it was a supercharged event. Between
00:22all the accusations flying around, however, it was almost easy to miss No. 45's botched
00:28It's no secret that the former Apprentice star is known for his orange-hued face, but
00:33curiously, that shade didn't extend to his hands during the debate. While pointing his
00:37digits to emphasize his statements, it's clear that he forgot to apply either his self-tanner
00:42or makeup, or both, to the rest of his visible body parts.
00:46With 15 years of experience as a makeup artist, Nicki Swift's Jessica Choi says this is a
00:50big no-no when it comes to being presentable for television, especially these days when
00:55everything is caught in 4K.
00:58Former assistant to Trump, Alyssa Farrah Griffin, confirmed on the One Decision podcast that
01:02he does his own makeup.
01:04"'Does Trump do his own makeup?'
01:06"'In my experience, he does, yes. He backstage, we always have a mirror for him.'"
01:12It's clear he needs some help in that department. And it's not just Trump's hands that need
01:16to be evened out. His blotchy skin was evident under the lights, something that could have
01:20been easily remedied with some professional help.
01:23Personal eyes were on Donald Trump during the debate, and if only he had checked himself
01:27on the screen before going up to the podium, he might have raced to the bathroom for a
01:31touch-up.
01:32Sure, Trump's tan wasn't as deep as the time he committed the ultimate sin during a Dr.
01:36Phil interview with his concealer lips. However, his skin's uneven coloring at the debate was
01:41even more highlighted by the fact that his under-eye area was missing some TLC.
01:46From what it looks like, he either used a tanning bed or got spray tan, but wore goggles
01:50to protect his eyes. This wasn't the first time Trump's eye bags clashed with his tan,
01:55and if he's going to be bronzing himself, he needs to even out that area with makeup.
01:59With his preference for a deep color, Trump's face often looks muddy. He needs a good dose
02:04of moisturizer for that parched skin, a layer of primer to blur out his pores, concealer
02:09under his eyes to match the tan, and a silicone-based foundation, followed by powder. And a makeup
02:14artist's favorite rule? Blend, blend, blend.
02:18To let blend? That is the question.
02:20There's no shame in getting a little dab here and there, or even a full face of makeup for
02:24the cameras. In fact, it's pretty much a guarantee that most, if not all, male news reporters
02:29at least get some concealer and powder applied. If Trump is adverse to people touching his
02:34face, perhaps a makeup lesson would go a long way toward fending off jokes.
02:38And when it comes to HD television, less is definitely more. Back in the day, when the
02:43pixels weren't as clear, you needed to pile on the makeup. Now, the cameras are so high-def
02:48that they pick up everything. One user on X wrote,
02:51"'Trump needs to watch some YouTube makeup tutorials.'"
02:54Another posted,
02:55"'Trump definitely leading in the most makeup caked on face category.'
02:59For anyone with naturally reddish skin, a primer or concealer with a green color corrector
03:03will do wonders for canceling out the redness. Then, he should apply a very light layer of
03:08foundation to cover up any green tint. Too much brown over the red will just result in
03:13what we've been seeing, which is a ruddy hue."
03:15If there is another debate between Trump and Harris, the avid golfer should probably use
03:19a much lighter hand.
