00:00Hi, Kurt Jacobs here, editor of Midlands Business Insider and welcome to the Midlands Dealmakers
00:15Awards. It's our 30th anniversary. We've got 800 people stuck in this room tonight
00:20having fun, having chats, having a great time and we've got 16 awards to prop up, 16 possibilities
00:27of getting M&A glory. Let's speak to some of the people here tonight to get their thoughts.
00:32Hi, I'm Sue Summers, Chief Executive of Frontier Development Capital, FDC. Delighted to be
00:39here tonight. We're a sponsor of Bank of the Year Award. Been coming here for over a decade.
00:45It's an amazing event. So pleased to celebrate 30 years with you.
00:50Mark Wilson, Managing Partner, Headpoint Advisors. We're sponsoring the Non-Bank Lending Award
00:56tonight. Fantastic being here. It's 30 years. I think I've been to about 18 of them, which
01:04is tremendous. I think it feels like it's got a new energy level. 900 people in the
01:09room is fantastic. And it's a testament to the Midlands dealmaking environment and community
01:17that we're feeling so vibrant tonight.
01:21I'm Roger Wood, M&A Director for Swedish listed company Stibtec and was delighted to be part
01:26of the judging panel for the 30th anniversary Midlands Insider Dealmakers Awards. It was
01:32great to be involved with the judging. It's a real reminder of the breadth and depth of
01:37expertise within the Midlands dealmaking community. There was quite a few arguments, bit of laughter,
01:45but I think in the end we probably came to a good quality set of winners.
01:49Hi, it's Paul from Breeze. We are over the moon. I think there were 800 and whatever
01:54people there. I think 795 were surprised and we weren't. Thank you so much.
02:02Hi, I'm Richard Sanders, one of the founding partners of Capitalist, made up latterly Atlanta
02:07Corporate Finance. We set up 24 years ago about burning a market place when corporate
02:12finance was always a very different place, probably taking on some of the more established
02:17grantees in the market at that time. At that time we had a great time, really good fun
02:21building a business with a very candy-sweet people in the advisory community. And seeing
02:26the granded market expand as it has today to be the powerhouse of the regions was fantastic
02:31news. It's been kind of a very safe hands in a corporate world. I'm looking forward
02:38to playing a slightly different role in that place going forward.
