00:00Hello, I'm Ian Griffin, Deputy Editor of Midlands Business Insider, and tonight I'm at the East
00:13Midlands property dinner here in Nottingham. It's in its 24th year, it's a complete sell-out
00:19once again, and we've got 12 fantastic awards to give out. It's going to be a great night.
00:26In the East Midlands we have a central location in the UK and great communication links. We've
00:31got a diverse economy and a history of manufacturing in a wide range of industries, and some highly
00:36ranked and progressive universities. All of this creates opportunities for the property
00:40industry, and the industry continues to evolve along with changes in consumer behaviour, shifts
00:47in preferences for where people want to work and live, and also more focus on things such
00:52as ESG. So this year in the awards entries, we saw examples of how the region's developers,
00:58contractors and consultants use the latest skills in design, engineering and construction
01:04methodology to produce industry-leading projects. All in all, another great year for the region.
01:10It's been great to be part of the judging panel again this year, and have the opportunity
01:14to read some really brilliant submissions for the various different categories that
01:18we see. It's fair to say I think that the challenges that we have as a region, to actually
01:24get schemes that are not only high quality and sustainable but also viable, is ever increasing.
01:32So again, it is a real pleasure to see the quality of the submissions and the award winners
01:37tonight.
01:38Hello, I'm David Cockcroft, I'm Regional Director of Harworth Group, and we are delighted to
01:44have won tonight the Developer of the Year Award. For us, it's been a long slog, but
01:50it's been a really rewarding prospect. We've worked with local authorities who want to
01:55create development, and we are delighted to be here tonight and celebrating the fact that
02:00we've actually won Developer of the Year, and it shows that our efforts have been successful.
02:06Hi Ian, I'm Josh Dickerson, Director of Place at BWE Consulting. It's a real privilege to
02:11win the Emerging Property Person of the Year at the East Midlands Property Dinner tonight.
02:14I'd just like to say thank you to all the people that nominated me at BWBE, and for
02:18bringing me forward to this award.
02:20Hi, I'm Liz Cartwright from Cartwright Communications. I'm thrilled to bits to win the Outstanding
02:28Achievement Award. I think that the East Midlands is a fantastic place, it's where I built my
02:37business, and I think I'm really chuffed also, not just for me but my team, and also for
02:44the marketing professionals out there, because we're so often in the background, we're the
02:50backroom boys, or girls, and it's brilliant to be noted in this way.
