Transcript
00:00Well Michael, a three-time Premiership player with the Bulldogs, 12 years since the last
00:07one, a day you probably thought would never come, tell us the emotions running through
00:11you right now.
00:12Yeah, it's hard to put into words.
00:13It's been a long road back to the club and us, a lot of hard times, got a couple of floggings
00:25in the last few years and we've got a lot of good people on board and, yeah, just put
00:33in the hard yards and got back here.
00:36Yeah, it's really hard to put into words what this makes for the club in general, like it's
00:41going to help us with recruiting, sponsors, yeah, it's a pretty emotional time for us
00:48to, especially with the netball winning, you know, the netball were always a struggle as
00:53well, so what Carly and Hamish have done for this club, it's huge.
00:58Alright Joel, you're sitting beside your uncle, he's a legend here at Dalesford.
01:03He sure is.
01:04Yes, you've become part of that Dalesford big picture legend now, you're a Premiership
01:08player, tell us what it's like to play alongside a club immortal.
01:16It's good words.
01:17It's simply amazing, honestly, I couldn't have dreamt this, honestly, to play in a flag
01:24and play for my uncle and family and it's, yeah, it just doesn't feel right, it feels
01:31a little bit surreal, I guess.
01:33I think you're a junior here and you can remember those three Premierships and that golden era
01:39back more than ten years ago when you were a youngster.
01:41Yeah, yeah, so, it's just, yeah, definitely like Freddie said, it's been a hard slog,
01:49just to get, you know, back to this and to a Premiership is amazing.
01:57Alright, tell us, last word Michael, you spoke about the club but this is also big for the
02:02Dalesford, like the sporting community, the whole thing because, you know, this goes down
02:08in history and I think it's one of the great stories of the Central Highland Football League
02:12in many years.
02:13It came from two wins last year when you admitted that the club was at rock bottom, you know,
02:17twelve months ago.
02:18Where are we going to this, I mean, what do you say?
02:23You've already said your last four words.
02:24Yeah, like I said, it's just going to make everything easy from now on.
02:28During that golden era, the crowds were at the gate, we had sponsors, recruiting was
02:35easy, everyone would be a part of it, so, I think for the next few years, this is going
02:40to really kickstart us for the next couple of years and hopefully start another dynasty
02:45for us and a couple more of these would be nice.
02:48Yeah, certainly would.
02:50Just the last word, you've got plenty of football left in you Joel, what's Michael Cummings got?
02:54Does this reinvigorate the body to just keep going and hopefully, as you say, some more
03:00silverware?
03:02No, I don't know, I'm not sure.
03:04I've got a fair few injuries at the moment and I'm really sore-souled.
03:08I'll put in the work over the pre-season and Haynes will be a spot for me next year.
03:14I suppose the main thing at the moment is to sit back, enjoy this moment and I'm sure
03:19you will.
03:20Well done fellas.
