चेन्नई. केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण की ओर से कोयम्बत्तूर में जीएसटी पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में रेस्तरां मालिक के कथित रूप से अपमान के मामले को खत्म करने की अपील की गई है। यह अपील संबंधित रेस्तरां ने की है। घटना का वीडियो वायरल होने के बाद कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी, अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे, मुख्यमंत्री एमके स्टालिन और विपक्षी अन्नाद्रमुक और सत्तारूढ़ द्रमुक के सहयोगी दलों सहित विभिन्न दलों के नेताओं ने इस घटना की निंदा की है। घटना को लेकर विवाद उत्पन्न होने के बाद अन्नपूर्णा रेस्तरां ने एक बयान जारी कर स्थिति स्पष्ट की। उसमें कहा गया कि कंपनी के प्रबंध निदेशक डी श्रीनिवासन ने गुरुवार को रेस्तरां और बेकरियों में अलग-अलग उत्पादन के लिए अलग-अलग जीएसटी दरों का मुद्दा उठाया था। बयान में कहा गया कि सीतारमण के साथ बातचीत का वीडियो अगले दिन वायरल होने के बाद श्रीनिवासन ने स्वेच्छा से निजी तौर पर वित्त मंत्री से मुलाकात की ताकि यह सुनिश्चित किया जा सके कि कोई गलतफहमी या तथ्यों की गलत व्याख्या न हो।
