00:00Hello from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for Monday the 16th of September.
00:04Heading into Tuesday morning, we can expect plenty of frost for eastern inland parts.
00:08Out in the west though, warm and sunny conditions will continue,
00:11while in northern Australia there's unseasonal showers on the way.
00:15Let's start off with the synoptic map, and Tuesday morning we can see this large high
00:19pressure system here, that's dominating conditions for southern parts of the country.
00:23What that's doing is leading to clear skies overnight, so we can expect fog and frost,
00:27generally west of the divide, but we could see that as far north as southern Queensland.
00:31South of that though, westerly winds are pushing showers onto western Tasmania
00:35at the southern Victorian coastline. Those showers will become more isolated as we head
00:39into Tuesday afternoon, but these showers here across the Northern Territory are unseasonal
00:44for this time of year. We could see between 2-15mm of rainfall, with higher isolated
00:50force possible. And in western Australia, warm and sunny conditions are set to continue.
00:55A state by state look now, and in Queensland, a cold start across the southern inland,
01:00dipping down to 2 degrees in Roma with frost, but that will mean a warm and sunny day on the
01:04way after that. A little bit of cloud and showers along the coast, partly cloudy and 24 degrees in
01:10Brisbane. In New South Wales, widespread frost in the morning, with the minimum temperatures
01:14dipping down to even below zero degrees. Not quite as cold tomorrow morning in Canberra,
01:19down to minus 1 on top of 18 degrees. 22 in Sydney, but it will be a cold start for western
01:24parts of Sydney. In Victoria, we'll see a couple of showers along the coast, but it will be a cold
01:28start, particularly for Mallee and Wimbera, dipping down to zero with plenty of frost.
01:32Those showers will become more isolated into the afternoon, and a milder day ahead for Melbourne
01:36at top of 17 degrees. In Tasmania, showers along the west, with snow above about 1100m,
01:42they'll become more isolated through the day, but we are expecting dry conditions for the north
01:46and the east of the state, top of 14 degrees in Hobart. In South Australia, frost in the morning
01:51all the way from the Riverland to the Eyre Peninsula. A cold start in Adelaide, just 3 degrees,
01:56but it will be a dry and mostly sunny day across the board. 19 in Adelaide, and slightly warmer
02:00across the north. In Western Australia, plenty of sunshine, with those winds from the interior
02:05continuing, and we will see clear skies all the way from the south coast up into the Pirba,
02:10a lovely top of 27 degrees in Perth, with sunny conditions. And in Northern Australia,
02:15showers across parts of the Northern Territory, generally north of about Tennant Creek,
02:19and we will see those showers for Darwin, with a slightly cooler day on the way, 31 degrees.
02:23Continuing warm to hot across the Kimberley though, and that will mean elevated fire dangers.
02:28That's your forecast for today. Keep up to date with the latest warnings and information
