00:00In combat sports, let's get to know one of the newest members of the Philippine kickboxing team, Jethro Saba

00:07who is getting inspiration from his mother to succeed in his career.

00:12This is Paolo Salamatin's report.

00:16Full of talent, skill, and vigor,

00:19the 21-year-old Marinesur native kickboxer has no shortage of talent.

00:24And one of the newest members of the Philippine kickboxing team, Jethro Saba,

00:29has been pursuing combat sports since he was a kid

00:33so that one day, he can support his family from poverty.

00:38And now that he is in the power of the national team,

00:40Jethro shared in PTV Sports that he will work hard to become a full-time athlete

00:45so that he can help his family.

00:47And as soon as his mother returned to the country,

00:50he was forced to work abroad since he was only 7 years old.

00:55Since I was a kid, we were left with nothing to eat,

00:59nothing to provide for us, our siblings.

01:02That's why I kept training.

01:04That's why I told my mother that I will just endure.

01:08One day, I will also be able to help.

01:11Jethro also participated in several sports, such as karate, taekwondo,

01:15and the world of professional mixed martial arts

01:18where he has a 3-4 win-loss record.

01:21And this June, Jethro won two medals in the international stage

01:27in the World Kickboxing Championship in Bali, Indonesia.
