00:00The support of the Department of Social Welfare and Development is enough for the residents affected by the Christine earthquake.

00:07In fact, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said that even before the earthquake hit,

00:14more than 170,000 family food packs were in short supply in Bicol.

00:31This is after the severe tropical storm Christine affected more than 2 million residents.

00:36That is why DSWD is focused on feeding the victims of this calamity.

00:40I hope that this will continue. That is the instruction of our beloved President,

00:45that there is no family or victim of this calamity that will starve.

00:49DSWD also emphasized that the support of the residents affected by the Christine earthquake is enough,

00:54especially in Bicol Region, where calamities are rampant.

00:57Even before the earthquake hit, more than 170,000 family food packs were in short supply.

01:03There are still 121,000 FFPs living in Bicol Region and more than 100,000 family food packs were brought to Bicol Region.

01:11Before we felt the effect of the Christine earthquake,

01:15our national stockpile, these are the family food packs that are scattered in all our warehouses across the country,

01:23there are less than 2 million pieces.

01:26This morning, I don't know if they can just flash the data,

01:30we have 1.982600 million family food packs.

01:36It was reduced from yesterday until now because we are already releasing.

01:39So we're all, we're ready.

01:41In fact, I talked to Mayor Legacion yesterday.

01:44The day before, I talked to Congressman Elrey Villafuerte.

01:47I also talked to our Acting Governor of Albay, Vice Governor Glenda.

01:52Our assurance to them is that even though they are the first line of defense,

01:56the local government units, the national government is ready to augment or increase their supply.

02:02They are also ready to provide assistance to the affected individuals.

02:05Once the residents enter their homes after the storm and realize the extent of the damage,

02:11the DSWD will enter again to extend financial assistance, together with DSUD,

02:16to repair, rehabilitate their homes and properties that may have been damaged.

02:21Another low-pressure area in the east of Mindanao is closely monitored by Pag-asa.

02:26According to Pag-asa, there is a high chance that this will be a typhoon.

02:29That's why the DSWD is already preparing for the possible effects of the new typhoon.

02:34We have stockpiles also in Mindanao and eastern Visayas.

02:37Later on, we can share with you the graph that we pulled out a while ago.

02:41Those remain intact and we continuously produce goods out of our Cebu Processing Center.

02:46If we can remember, there are two repacking centers in the country.

02:50In Pasay, we call it National Resource Center.

02:53And in Visayas, in Cebu, we call it Visayas and Mindanao.

02:57There are plans, part of the anticipatory action to build one starting next year.

03:01The third one that we will put in Caraga, in Butuan.

03:04That will serve the Mindanao and the eastern seaboard of Visayas-Mindanao.

03:09That's very prone to typhoon.

03:11The Office of the Civil Defense issued a red alert.

03:14The OCD is planning the rubber boats that will be brought to the Bicol Region.

03:18This is in accordance with the priority of the Administration of Marcos Jr. on rescue operations.

03:23The OCD allocated sufficient resources but the flood level is still high in some areas.

03:28As we speak, we are collecting the commitments of Secretary Teodoro through the J3.

03:34In fact, I already saw the list of equipment.

03:39We also have 17 air assets that are prepositioned in Villamore, in Cebu,

03:46which are readily deployable, weather permitting because we have to be sure that our pilots, our assets are safe.
