Every year Apple puts on a show called the WWDC for developers. And it previews the next operating systems for their devices. This year, it seems, they’re pushing into the productivity space.

00:00So Apple had their annual developer conference, and they basically previewed their new iOS and macOS, which was called Ventura, I think.
00:14I hate these names. Give me the damn number. 10.13, I think.
00:20But anyway, on the Mac side of things, I mean, you guys know that I'm a Mac junkie, right?
00:25So on the Mac side of things, it seems pretty interesting, the fact that they're going into productivity.
00:35They had a thing called something State. I don't keep up with the names of these things, because I think they're stupid.
00:43It's like, just be productive. Why have names for these things?
00:47Yes, I call it tech minimalism, but that kind of describes what it is.
00:52Anyway, so they've come out with the whole productivity thing.
00:57And as you know, I'm the Mac junkie, and it kind of got me intrigued as to what the capabilities of it are.
01:05To be honest, it doesn't, from what I see at the moment, I'm not going to install beta software on my devices ever.
01:14I never do. I used to in the past, but I never do.
01:17But it seems like that it's kind of trying to fix a problem that actually isn't there.
01:26Because the Mac in itself, the operating system, I should say, is really quite simple.
01:34And it's organized in such a way where you can be a tech minimalist and a Mac junkie at the same time.
01:41So they've added these new features, and I'm really looking forward to checking them out,
01:46to see how, if my productivity actually gets any better.
01:51I mean, I'm a productivity guy, I guess, so it's already good.
01:56But they really did intrigue me.
01:59The one thing on the iOS though, iOS 16, I think they're complicating the front screen, the lock screen.
02:11Because you can now add things like complications and things like that, like you can on the watch.
02:17I don't have the watch. I don't see the reason to have it.
02:22So it'll be interesting to see what kind of widgets people come out with.
02:25But again, I like things that are just simple. There's nothing on it.
02:28I don't want to be inundated with notifications and widgets and things like that to get my work done.
02:36Because getting your work done is getting your work done,
02:39not looking at fancy, schmancy, stupid stuff that you just don't need to see.
02:46So that's my mini review of what went on with Apple yesterday.
02:52I really do hope the... I mean, I'm sure that the new operating system is going to be good.
02:58But I hope that they don't force it upon you to use these new features.
03:03Because I think that's kind of silly.
03:06Anyway, I'm still here in South of France... South of Spain.
03:12And I stopped off at this kind of pine forest.
03:15Check it out. And the beach is right over there.
03:19I don't know if you can hear it.
03:21Anyhow, have a great day.
03:24Be a Mac junkie and a tech minimalist.
03:26And I'll see you next time. Ciao.
