00:00The Department of Agriculture is well-prepared for the expected effects of the floods and typhoons in the country.

00:08According to the agency, 2 million sacks of rice are ready to be deployed in the event of an emergency.

00:27The Department of Agriculture believes that rice per kilo can be reduced from 29 to 32 pesos.

00:36To do this, the Department of Agriculture will distribute free rice that can provide high yields.

00:43The irrigation system will also provide water to the rice fields or in the rain to avoid flooding to the farms.

00:53The agency also targets to build roads for agricultural products to reduce the logistic cost of the rice used for irrigation.

01:10The DA is preparing for the effects of the floods and typhoons.

01:14Some of the places that are expected to be hit by the typhoon are Cordillera, Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon.

01:23The DA's help is already prepared in the areas that are expected to be affected by the typhoon to mitigate the possible negative effects of the typhoon on the production of food.

01:32At the moment, we're expecting because of La Nina that there will be one or two more giant storms there.

01:39We have prepared advanced preparation for seeds, you know, in case we really get hit again, we really have to replant as fast as possible.

01:46Even the farm machineries like direct seeders that are needed, they're arriving already, you know, so that we can do a quick turnaround and replant.
