00:00I was going to ask again about that Nottingham Forest performance.
00:03I mean, and they said not to worry about it.
00:05What did go wrong? Because it felt quite flat watching it.
00:08Yeah, I think there was lack of end product.
00:11I think if you looked at the stats, I'm just going to quickly get them now.
00:13I looked at them earlier.
00:15If you didn't see the the result
00:19and you were asked, you know, how do you think this game went?
00:22You would probably say, oh, I imagine Liverpool won
00:25because we dominated with possession, with passes.
00:28And it was just wasteful in front of goal,
00:31which was an error that was raised last season
00:35because we had a bit of a dip and it was just wastefulness.
00:38And, you know, fans are getting frustrated with it
00:41because it was another title run that didn't come to fruition,
00:44which is obviously disappointing.
00:46But as someone who is a realist, it's I'm happy we've done it once.
00:50I'm just going to say that I'm not saying I don't want us to do it again,
00:52obviously, but I'm just happy to see us do it once.
00:55But yeah, I just think tighten up the end product a bit more
01:00because I think we had the same shots on target as Forrest,
01:04but they were able to put one of theirs away, which is all that mattered in the end.
01:07And that's something we couldn't do.
01:09So, yeah, it was it was a disappointing one,
01:12but it's nothing that can't be it can't be fixed.
01:16In terms of that end product then and fixing it,
01:18I mean, one of the changes that slot has made is he's really starting to play
01:21Diogo Jota as a number nine, preferring him over, say,
01:25Darwin Nunez, for instance, over Cody Gakbo,
01:27sometimes played as a false nine last season.
01:30Do you think that's working? Do you think that's the right way forward?
01:33I think I really rated Diogo Jota last season.
01:36I think even Jamie Carragher said, and it is quite a compliment,
01:38he said he's the best Premier League finisher that Liverpool have had,
01:43which I think such a huge, huge compliment.
01:45I do think Jota is a great player
01:48because there's been when we had Roberto Firmino
01:51and he kind of was the face of the false nine.
01:55The goal scoring was mainly down to Mane and Salah.
01:59And that worked. That was amazing.
02:00But it's I think loads of people said if we had a Harry Kane
02:05or if we signed someone like Suarez again,
02:08what could we achieve with two amazing wingers,
02:11but then also a typical goal poacher up top?
02:14And I think Jota showed, you know, flashes of that
02:18showing that he's able to put stuff away.
02:21He's there when you need him to be.
02:23And I think that is what Liverpool have been missing.
02:27And Nunes, I do really like Nunes and you look at his numbers
02:31and you can't deny that he's he's put up some good numbers.
02:33I think the comparison of Haaland really hasn't helped
02:37because from the get go, I think it's like he was almost set up to fail
02:40because Haaland's there.
02:42He's an absolute machine.
02:43He's breaking all these records and everyone's like,
02:47well, he's a flop compared to Haaland.
02:48He's not a flop. He has done well, if you look at his numbers.
02:52But I understand the frustration.
02:54He does frustrate me.
02:55His end product is sometimes just not there.
02:58When he came on against Milan, it was near the end.
03:01And by then I was kind of like, ugh.
03:03But yeah, I know why he doesn't get many starts now.
03:10And I do prefer Jota.
03:13I think the system at the moment, yeah, it's working well.
03:15And Gappo's looking really, really good.
03:16He was really good in the Euros
03:19and obviously new signings of Chiesa.
03:23He's going to be a lovely little substitute.
03:25So, yeah, the attacking options are good.
03:28But don't ask me that next season when we could potentially lose Salah
03:31because I don't want to talk about that.
