00:00Well, looking at Liverpool's forward line now, obviously we've mentioned a few times
00:06just how these last five, six, seven or eight years since Jurgen Klopp came in, how lucky
00:15Liverpool fans have been to witness these and how thankful they should be for a number
00:20of players to go and get that Champions League win, the Premier League win, which was availing
00:25them for so many years. Just looking at forward lines in particular, you know, Mane, Salah,
00:30Firmino, quite historic really for them in that sort of era, obviously Sturridge and
00:36Suarez before them, who's sort of been the most standout throughout their history, their
00:41recent history as well, that Liverpool fans really love and will always have a soft spot
00:47for at the club?
00:48I think it would be that three, that's Salah, Firmino and Mane because they got Liverpool
00:52all over the line. They won Liverpool, the Champions League and then the Premier League.
00:58You know, Suarez is still fondly remembered for his quality, but he didn't win a Premier
01:04League at Liverpool, he fell short. That one with Sturridge and Sterling was excellent
01:08but it broke apart very quickly, whereas the one of Mane, Salah and Firmino was there for
01:15a few years and you have to say a lot of people would agree they were the best in Europe.
01:21I think what let them down was the lack of depth behind them, you know, you had players
01:26like Zed and Shaqiri, you had Divock Origi who scored a lot of important goals for Liverpool
01:30to be fair, you had Takumi Minamino who came in for a little bit, but there wasn't real
01:36out and out depth and that's the difference now with Liverpool. Maybe it's not as strong,
01:41you know, Roberto Firmino was a player who was so underrated, he was loved by his teammates,
01:48Sadio Mane was one of the best forwards in the world. Is Luis Diaz as good as Sadio Mane?
01:54Probably not yet. Is Dava Nunes or Diogo de Otto as good as Roberto Firmino? No, you'd have to say,
02:01but there's more depth and more options for Liverpool. So, I think that has definitely
02:08helped Mo Salah in recent years. I think if Mo Salah had been playing with two more and that's
02:13it, then maybe it would have been a bit more difficult, but the burden has been taken off him
02:17a little bit in recent campaigns, albeit his numbers in terms of goals have not slowed down
02:25whatsoever. So, going forwards, you've still got key aces to come in, you know, there's a lot of
02:33talk about what's going to happen with Salah, things change, new players come in, of course,
02:39and that's going to happen eventually. But yeah, that front three of Mane, Salah, Firmino,
02:46I think do just like Red Arrows, where they won Liverpool everything that they could have won and
02:52they returned Liverpool to the top of European football. I think that's why
02:57they'll always be held in the Davis of affection.
