00:00Sunday night in Houston. Texans-Bears, a pair of 1-0 football teams. The games didn't look the same. Houston wins 29-27. I still really cannot figure out how to grade that defensive performance.
00:18Anthony Richardson had nine completions for 212 yards. Three completions amounted for about 180 of those yards, and then he did mostly nothing outside of that. They gave up 27 points, though, in the football game.
00:33The Bears, well, their defense kind of did it all. The offense was putting them in bad spots, and then the defense and the special teams units kind of went out there and grabbed that game by the throat and put Will Levis in the ground and put that team up to 1-0. They covered. Ultimately, one of these teams is 1-0 against the number. That's Chicago. The other is not. It's 0-1 against the number in the Houston Texans.

01:02That's another runaway point spread, guys. We just talked about a game that opened up preliminary line 3-and-a-half and goes to 6-6-and-a-half, depending on where you're shopping at. Now you're getting this game opened up at 3-and-a-half, and now you're seeing 6-and-a-halves at some outlets here, and I do agree with that. You take a look at last week, and it's two different ballgames entirely. High expectations for me coming into the season for the Texans. They go on the road against a division opponent that's talented and came away with a victory. Final score a little bit closer than what the game indicated because it was close to double digits by the end.
01:27Let's flip it over to the Chicago Bears. What do we like about that game? I don't even know if you can say it was a great defensive effort because of what Will Levis actually put in, but any time you can come back with a rookie quarterback on your home field down two touchdowns, I'm going to give you a little bit of credit, but now, guys, we look at this week and what happens. Ramadunze, game-time decision. You take a look at Keenan Allen, game-time decision. Now he has one wide receiver on a week where he didn't throw a touchdown pass and barely moved the football. I think it's danger zone type tonight here for the Chicago Bears.
01:53I do as well. I lean to Houston again. That offensive identity showed through 29 points last week. C.J. Stroud, 236 through the air. Nico Collins continued his success from last year with a 100-yard performance on six catches, and again, we saw the emergence of Joe Mixon, right? On the flip side, what do you see? You see Matt Eberflus, the human anchor containing that offense. Again, dink and dunks. I know you're high on Caleb Williams.
02:19When you have a defensive-minded head coach, they oversee everything. They want to see a game-planned play out in regards to offensive play calling, which utilizes the rushing attack and short to intermediate throws. You saw the throws. 14 of 29 for Caleb Williams for 93 yards. Where were the explosive chunk plays against a mediocre secondary in Tennessee?

03:19But, again, DeAndre Swift, 10 carries, 30 yards. Where are they going to win this matchup on the road? It's going to be 30 yards of DeAndre Swift and those running backs, dink and dunks to Cole Komet and the tight ends, and let's try and win this game 17 to 30.
03:35So, here is my thing with Chicago, who I like tonight, but I will not bet until the injury report comes out because I am expecting Keenan Allen and Roma Dunzey out, and then I think I can get 7.
03:48And I want 7, and we know that's a key number, and I'm going to wait. I'm on DJ Moore over receptions at 5.5. Last week, 5 catches, 8 targets.
03:57Keenan Allen had 11 targets, and Roma Dunzey had 4. 15 targets, and a guy who threw 29 attempts might have walked out that door.
04:04DJ Moore, Donnie, could finish this game with a Cooper Cup target load, and we know how important volume is.
04:09But as far as covering this number goes, and this is where, look, I'm messing around a little bit in terms of, hey, the Bears covered.
04:15Think about how bad Will Levis was who lost in that game. Will Levis outplayed Caleb Williams in that game.
04:20I, tonight, am expecting Caleb to bounce back. Caleb Williams in prime time must step up and keep this game in range.
04:30The defense for Chicago looks a level of legit. A top 12 or so unit may be better.
04:36So, if they can keep Stroud, again, in striking distance, Caleb Donnie does not have enough around him without Allen and Roma to have a monster season.
04:47But, relative to other rookies, DJ Moore, Colt Comet, DeAndre Swift, there's enough to be competitive.
04:52There is, but also, coming into the season, why do we like Caleb Williams so much?
04:55Number one, we knew he was a great ball player, but number two, boy, they surround him with a lot of talent.
04:59A lot of that talent might not even be there tonight. On the road, home opener for the Texans, prime time game.
