00:39five-inch scale Simpsons figures stand while I am impressed by the line I have
00:43to say the distribution on these figures absolutely stinks most of the sites
00:47actually are still listing these as pre-orders the only way I've actually
00:50been able to get my hands on any of these is through Facebook selling groups
00:53hopefully that will be changing shortly though the figure does stand exactly as
00:57claimed he's five inches in height or Homer Simpson from the brand-new Jack
01:01specific line stands about 13 centimeters tall I don't know if
01:05Simpsons is one of those cursed IPs because it seems as quickly as a company
01:08picks up this license they either lose it or they drop it because then you
01:12never see them do anything else with it in the furthest corner in the smallest
01:16size here's Legos offering of Homer Simpson now Lego is a good example of
01:20this because Lego is really notorious for picking up a license you get very
01:23little of them whether it be build sets or in this case mini figures and then
01:26you just never see them again Scooby-Doo I could think of Scooby-Doo I can think
01:30of Ninja Turtles Simpsons I would probably put in that category as well
01:33now what we're getting here with Jack specific granted is only the first wave
01:37but these are the fully posable 5-inch scale figures they're also very much
01:40doing the 2.5 inch scale figures and anybody knowing simple division would
01:44know that he's half the size he doesn't have as much posability but I think one
01:47thing that Jack specific seemed to be really doing is with the 2.5 inch
01:51figures they're releasing things like the sets that that Simpsons homes the
01:54dioramas probably vehicles down the road I can't imagine they're probably
01:57gonna be doing as much here with the 5-inch scale figures now super 7 boo
02:01hiss yes super 7 just before really getting into heavily into the ultimates
02:06line of Simpsons figures they did dabble the waters though with five-point
02:09articulated figures now what they ended up doing though was they released two
02:12waves of treehouse of horrors I've only looked at the first wave here on this
02:15channel I might consider maybe picking up the second wave if I can find them
02:18for a decent price cloaks Homer though having only five points for articulation
02:22he only goes to maybe about the nose or so from Jack specific playmates is
02:26really the one that handled the licensing the best not only releasing
02:29mentioned treehouse of horror but releasing any civilian any citizen of
02:33Springfield you could possibly think of I really should have brought in the
02:36Homer that got packed with Kang and Kodos I can actually find that set at
02:40the time of shooting record but I did though find Homer Kong at least it kind
02:43of gives you at least an idea of how much bigger a little more bulkier and a
02:46lot less articulate we got from playmates but we got a whole lot more
02:49figures of them going back though to super 7 obviously super 7 did release a
02:54line of ultimates figures whatever you may feel of this line here's what he
02:57looks like with deep space Homer I don't have moomoo Homer I don't know if I'm
03:00even planning to get moomoo Homer I kind of wanted to really see this line
03:03completely till its end I mean the moomoo Homer never really reached a lot
03:07of online sites I've seen a couple of them listed on Facebook groups but again
03:11I don't know if I really want to fork over the money for something that
03:14essentially is a deadline but deep space Homer though is one of those good
03:17examples that super 7 while really mishandling the licensing when it came
03:21to the choice of characters that they went with at least the characters
03:24rightfully so had a lot of possibility and they had a lot of accessories it's
03:28just a shame that the line had to end because just that I feel poor
03:31mismanaged ideas on super sevens parts Homer Simpson does come in clue with a
03:35box of donuts for his accessories I'm telling you this now because looking at
03:39the box you would just suspect that this is a box of shoes I mean the box itself
03:42does open so I mean right away you'll know exactly its contents but could they
03:46not have put a little label or something on the top that says donuts
03:49could they not have put something on the side because there's really nothing to
03:52indicate at all to unless short of going back and looking at the episodes again
03:56maybe the boxes are completely blank luckily though you'll know right away
04:00that when you pick up this figure for yourself the box of donuts is open like
04:03this inside the tray I have already taken the liberty of actually adding his
04:07one other included accessory the figure does have a partially eaten donuts the
04:11thing that's neat about it though is that the donut does fit inside the tray
04:13I mean wouldn't have been just an absolute bummer if you open up the box
04:16or you got the box out like this and you thought hey hey wait a minute I got a
04:20partially eating donuts I got a space in the donut box that looks like it could
04:24fit a donut you wouldn't be able to fit it in because it was way too small they
04:28didn't do that they didn't do that you can actually take the donut and it does
04:32fit nicely inside it's just a little lower than all the others but I mean I'm
04:35not gonna find fault with the fact that at least a donut does actually fit
04:38inside the box I just think the book the box itself need to have some sort of
04:42label to indicate what exactly the box actually is anyways the partially eaten
04:46donut if we get a closer look at this Homer seems to like pink donuts I can
04:50probably make out there's some sprinkles on there unfortunately there's not much
04:54in the way of paint to help indicate that the fact that there are sprinkles
04:56on the donut yes he has taken a few bites maybe two bites out of this donut
05:02you can actually take the donut box well you can't really do much with the box
05:06itself but at least you can take the donut and you can fit it in between his
05:09hands the hand itself is a soft enough plastic that you don't I was gonna say
05:14you don't have to heat this although you really have to fight sometimes to get
05:17the donut into his hands I mean you have to really wedge it in there there we go
05:21and he does successfully hold the donut oh looks good I mean I suppose you
05:27probably could have come in clue with something else other than just really
05:29the box of donuts I mean obviously giving him the idea of a beer probably
05:33would not be suitable considering that they have to market this towards kids as
05:36well but giving him at least an unlabeled unmarked can would have been
05:40a nice included touch as well because I really would have liked to have like a
05:43beer in his hand also let's go ahead and remove the donut before I drop it onto
05:46the floor and move those accessories all out of the way now Homer Simpson looking
05:51at the figures head sculpt I wanted to bring this the original one in also as
05:54well so you guys can see like the head sculpts are very much similar to one
05:57another if I was to say and I say if I was to speak to somebody at Jackson ask
06:01him are they using the exact same mold I don't think I would be all that surprised
06:05that they said yeah we were using literally the small scale figure head
06:08with a larger one as well I mean they are identical it doesn't look like they
06:11maybe there's a little bit of a difference between the two one of the
06:15big notable differences though is that there's a coloring difference between
06:18the yellows it's much brighter yellow here on the 2.5 and it's a much more
06:22kind of darker yellow here on the larger scale I don't know if I would say maybe
06:27the smaller one is a little bit more cartoon accurate when it comes to its
06:30color scheme because I think like the yellow works a little bit better for the
06:32smaller one than it does on the bigger one the thing I like at least about this
06:36one is they've also painted on now on this one too they've also sculpted in
06:40the little little I don't know what you call a little scribbles that he has on
06:44the back of his hair if you run your finger across this you can actually feel
06:47that this is sculpted in place so they haven't just printed it on there also
06:51they've sculpted the tiny two hairs that he has on top of his forehead so that's
06:54nicely been painted too it's an all-in-all a decent-looking painted
06:58Homer the only thing I would have problems with this if I was to say
07:01anything and if you're looking at his sleeves hit the tops of his sleeves
07:04don't quite match the colors that he has for the front of his chest I don't know
07:08why that the shoulders are completely different white but you can see it does
07:12certainly stand almost looks like Homer has sweaty sweaty armpits as you can see
07:17though turn the figure around there's not really much in the way of paint this
07:19probably looks like they've molded this in plastic maybe what they ended up
07:22doing was painting this and maybe that's why that this isn't quite the same way
07:26as the rest of his body you can see also in the back he does have this stamp
07:30printing there of his manufactured I'm guessing the place where they actually
07:33manufactured the figure luckily though it's on the back of his behind and you
07:36don't see it on the front of the figure now he's got some decent levels of
07:39posability although I was kind of disappointed the fact he didn't have
07:42more going on for his head now when we looked at the smaller Homer Simpson
07:46obviously he only would have had just a rotation back and forth you can still
07:50have brought his arms out you can still rotate his arms all the way around
07:52there's no swivel here there was no swivel in the waist but you could bring
07:56his legs forward like this together when you moved one leg you basically
08:00would be moving the second leg along with it as well this Homer at least
08:03benefits from having some additional articulation but really honestly I wish
08:07the figure could have had some ball joint going on for his head but the head
08:10only being able to swivel back and forth it's fine and good but I think he could
08:15have got a lot more going on if they had managed now you also have to contend
08:18with the idea that he's got a collar here as well I don't know maybe that's
08:20one of the reasons why they chose not to use a ball joint I just wish the head
08:23could have been able to move up and down or a rock back and forth I mean
08:27literally all he can really do is just do this now his arms like the smaller
08:32scale can actually come out I have to say though I don't know why these arms
08:35are loose so quickly out of the packaging I mean they're not loose to
08:39the point that they're gonna drop but they are certainly loose when you feel
08:42them in your hands the arms do rotate the elbow bend again does feel a little
08:46on the looser side you can rotate the arm back and forth so he's got basically
08:49like a hinge right here you can bend the elbow and you can rotate you can
08:54rotate it here as well hands rotate also to there's no obviously a hand a
08:58swappable hands or anything like that hands you also hinge back and forth so
09:02he has a little bit more than the smaller scale he does have a waist
09:05swivel it was a little tighter on the figure before like split out being take
09:08the legs and move them independently which is one good thing so like the the
09:11smaller one you'd have to if you brought obviously one leg forward you would
09:15bring the second leg together as well this one you can actually move them
09:17independently so they hinge out moving forward and back here the bend at the
09:21knee there's no articulation here in the leg but you can at least move the feet
09:25back and forth up and down hinge you've got some rock in there as well the
09:29figure does have does have also peggles on the bombs of his feet so like he is
09:33certainly an a step up from the smaller scale and I'm not just saying it from
09:37the standpoint of size I mean obviously if to look at the two there are a lot of
09:41very similar traits between the two figures where this figure does benefit
09:44is the fact he does have hinges in his elbows because obviously the smaller
09:48scale figure didn't have that he has hinges in his knees I don't know if I
09:52would say that he is a better-looking Homer I almost still feel like the
09:56yellow let me just move this guy over a little bit I almost feel like the yellow
09:59on the 2.5 Homer looks a little brighter maybe he's a little too dark of a yellow
10:04he certainly is a lot darker here in the shoulder sleeves I don't know why those
10:07had to be a different color from the rest of his chest I do like that he
10:10comes include the doughnuts but you know again to go back and look at the episode
10:13maybe all the boxes have unnamed name like maybe they just come from some
10:17generic it just says doughnuts on the front of the store and there's nothing
10:20printed on the actual box I just wish they could have printed something on the
10:23box the included idea of having doughnuts is a nice touch the idea that
10:27you can actually have a separate donut that can still store inside the box is
10:30also a nice touch just kind of wish that Homer could have come also include with
10:33a beer I know you can't say necessarily duff beer on it maybe that's probably
10:37one of the things that they have to kind of avoid on their ends but at the very
10:40least if they had released a can some generic can that they could have put in
10:44his hand would have been also a nice touch I like though this Homer we're
10:48also gonna be looking at a whole bunch of them coming up this week actually I
10:51managed to pick up auto the the Bart Simpson and also Bartman so we're gonna
10:56be looking at those in upcoming reviews so you guys kind of get a good
10:59experience a good chance to see these at the only thing I would also say too is
11:02like the distribution right now and these figures are terrible finding these
11:05in stores I mean I can't speak for in the u.s. I mean you guys probably have
11:09had better luck to find these in American stores here in Canada I've
11:12checked around the Toys R Us I've checked a Walmart nobody seems to be
11:15stocking these the only place and I don't know where even these sellers seem
11:18to be getting these from seems to be the Facebook groups luckily I was able to
11:22get the set and I think I probably paid it I want to say a little over $100
11:25maybe it was a hundred and twenty to get the set of four figures I guess that's
11:28not a bad price at the end of the day they're they're really nice looking
11:31Homer's really nice Simpsons figures and speaking from the standpoint of looking
11:35at Homer I think I'm glad also to see that this is the first wave of figures
11:39from Jack specific and we're also getting like a Bart Simpson right away
11:41and we're also getting ourselves a Homer yes we are getting an auto yes we are
11:45getting also a Willy but those are the way that that's always really the way I
11:49feel like super 7 should have handled licensing right from day one let's just
11:52move smaller Homer over here where's my deep space Homer let's bring back in
11:56deep space Homer you know again like deep space Homer was a good example of
11:59what super 7 was capable of doing what they released was good figures they just
12:03chose the wrong type of characters Homer wasn't so much the issue I think that
12:07the issue really boiled down to the fact that they they just needed to
12:09release civilian dressed Simpsons and they didn't do that Jax is already out
12:14the gate doing this for the first wave and I'm so glad that they're doing that
12:17because like collectors all kind of agree now looking back on the line of
12:21what super 7 failed with when it comes to their Simpsons the right out the
12:25gates if you're gonna be releasing a Simpsons line you should need to release
12:29like just a regular dressed Homer as part of the first wave or at the very
12:33least a part for that first wave we shouldn't be ever something that we
12:37would have had to wait for a wave down the road what like what we're doing so
12:40far with Jax Pacific I like what we're getting so far with Jax Pacific again
12:44whether you like the idea of collecting your Simpsons in these smaller 2.5 or
12:47you like the more articulated 5 inch scale figures a lot of good stuff so far
12:51out the gate from Jax Pacific this whole pink box of donuts thing was bothering
12:55me so I just looked online the best reference I could find was from the game
12:58Simpsons tapped out in which they show a generic pink box of donuts with
13:03donuts inside that had pink frosting and sprinkles on so they probably best
13:07resemble the ones that we get here from Jax Pacific so it is right although I do
13:11wish that at the very least they could have put some reference to lard lad
13:14maybe on the top of the box nice little touch to have a removable donut that
13:18already has two bites out of it although if you turn the donut inside towards his
13:22palm it looks like Homer hasn't taken any bites out of it yet luckily though
13:26he does hold it in both of his hands it's really strange though that getting
13:29this guy out of the packaging with what very little time I've actually had just
13:32to play around with the figure he's already loose in the shoulders and he's
13:35loose in the elbows I don't know if it's just the type of joints that they're
13:39using but I hope that this isn't something that's gonna cause problems
13:42with this figure line moving forward because I hate to think that the figures
13:45are already gonna have really overly loose joints head sculpt standpoint I
13:49mean it does look a little bit different the more that I'm looking at it the
13:52bottom part of his jaw does look like it kind of tucks a little bit more in
13:56than the regular 2.5 Homer that we've already looked at so there might been a
14:00little bit of a difference of sculpt between the two figures I do think I
14:03still like the yellow a little bit more on the smaller scale Simpson rather than
14:06the 5-inch of course as mentioned we are gonna be looking at the Bartman Bart and
14:10Otto all in the upcoming reviews you can let me know down below in the comment
14:14section what other accessories yes would you like to see Homer Simpson get packed
14:18with I mentioned a generic can I mean maybe even like a toolbox I mean I I
14:23mean how far do we go with accessories carbon-based rod I don't maybe thinking
14:28it needs to have all of those at the very least he comes in clue with the
14:30donut box and it seems like each one of the Simpsons characters have at the very
14:33least one or two accessories they're not packed with nothing if you guys have
14:38also had any success to find these at your local stores let me know down below
14:41in the comment section what stores mostly I've heard targets seem to be the
14:44go-to unfortunately targets don't seem to be a go-to here in Canada because we
14:48haven't had targets in our in our places and probably even like last 10
14:51years we had targets at one point didn't do all that well and then the company
14:55just yanked all the stores out so if they are in fact more located at target
14:59stores that might be one of the reasons why I'm only seeming to have any success
