00:00I've worked in the NHS for just over 10 years now, like a healthcare support worker, doing
00:10clinics with doctors and nurses and stuff like that. My mum's a nurse, so I guess I
00:15was inspired by her. I think it's quite like an honour and a privilege to be able to help
00:21people and going home is like, there's nothing more rewarding than that. Like all of our
00:26patients have got metoid arthritis and different forms of arthritis. I just did the audition
00:32and then it all happened after my dad passed away just before COVID. His funeral was actually
00:39literally the day before lockdown and he was still quite young, he was just 60. So that
00:45inspired me to be like, right, you need to start getting vocal lessons. I've been a heavy
00:49metal singer for a long time, but the sort of style that I wanted to do would require
00:55sort of learning how to sing properly. So I'm going to be doing it in memory of him.
01:01So I thought it'd be quite fitting to do a Judas Priest song, because it sort of marks
01:06me being able to actually sing. And then it's also symbolic of what gave me the strength
01:11to work during COVID and stuff like that. He passed away in intensive care because of
01:17pancreatitis. So I discovered a charity called Guts UK. And they're one, I think one of the
01:23only charities that fund research into pancreatitis. I remember being in intensive care with him.
01:30He was always proud, like the sort of music I used to do wasn't his cup of tea. He'd still
01:37make the effort to come to my shows and support me. He'll probably be pretty nervous on the
01:41night, but I'm sure all the contestants will be.
