Brazilians wheelchair-users learn to dance at Rio academy

In their first class of the semester, which coincides with Brazil's National Day of Struggle for Persons with Disabilities, wheelchair users and able-bodied individuals come together to learn how to dance in free classes, part of an initiative funded by the Rio de Janeiro State government.

"It’s like I’ve deepened my relationship with my wheelchair," says psychologist Paula Guedes Lacerda, who attends the class with her husband. He adds, "I came to dance because of her—her smile while dancing was contagious."
