00:00Amy and I did this together, and I will not be part of an award that does not recognize
00:03the value of her contribution."
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the times in The Big Bang
00:10Theory when Shelbot showed us that even he has a heart.
00:14"'Astronaut' Howard Wolowitz."
00:18Number 20.
00:19What was in Howard's father's letter?
00:21Howard's plan to exploit Sheldon's compulsive neatness backfires after Sheldon finds an
00:26old letter, while organizing the Roston-Kautzy-Wolowitz's closet.
00:30"'I found just a couple more items.
00:32Howard, I found this letter from your dad in a box.
00:35Now based on the content, it could either be filed…'
00:38"'Whoa, whoa, whoa, you opened this?'
00:39"'Well, I had to find out if it was personal correspondence or memorabilia.
00:42Now, as I was saying, based on the content…'
00:44"'I couldn't be less interested!''
00:45But he's not the only one to take advantage of Sheldon's quirks, and soon enough, everyone
00:50knows its contents, except Howard.
00:52To make it up to him, his friends each invent different stories about what the letter might
00:57have said, with one of them being true.
00:59"'I realize if we each present you with an account of what your father wrote to you,
01:05only one of which is true, and then we don't tell you which one it is, you will forever
01:10be in a state of epistemic ambivalence.'"
01:13You might not remember that this was actually Sheldon's idea, since he keeps pushing Howard
01:18to believe in his version.
01:19Even though it's not only completely implausible, but also totally borrowed from the Goonies.
01:25Still, it's a thoughtful plan from Sheldon, and it ends up cheering Howard up.
01:29"'Which one do you think it is?
01:32Matey?'
01:33"'Actually, I don't want to know.
01:39I want all of them to be true.'"
01:4219.
01:43Trying not to rock the boat after Penny and Leonard break up
01:47After Leonard and Penny's first breakup, Howard gives Sheldon a crash course in post-breakup
01:51etiquette.
01:52"'In a situation like this, you gotta pick sides.
01:55You're either on Team Leonard or Team Penny.
01:58Which one picks last?'
01:59But now Sheldon's in a tough spot because he's already made dinner plans with Penny.
02:04His attempts to avoid upsetting anyone get a little out of hand.
02:07Poor Sheldon.
02:08We know how much he hates dogs and loves spaghetti with cut-up hot dogs.
02:14"'Here.
02:17I had to trade the others for my life.'"
02:19Even though he's already had take-out with the guys, he still sits through a second dinner
02:24because, well, plans are plans, right?
02:26"'Do you have a stomachache too?'
02:28"'No, why do you?'
02:31"'No.'
02:32"'Why did you ask if I had one too?'
02:35"'Just making a flight dinner conversation.'"
02:37In the end, he had nothing to worry about since Leonard's totally fine with him staying
02:42friends with Penny.
02:43Still, it's really heartwarming how much effort he puts into keeping everyone happy.
02:47"'I don't care if you want to be friends with Penny.'"
02:50"'Oh.
02:51Well, so the emotional turmoil that's been keeping me from achieving REM sleep was entirely
02:56unjustified?'
02:57"'Yes.'"
02:5818.
02:59Reconciling with Georgie
03:02We can only imagine that having a brother like Sheldon must feel as challenging as cracking
03:07the mysteries of string theory.
03:09After Sheldon moved to Pasadena, the brothers pretty much stopped talking, and neither seem
03:13to have fond memories of their shared childhoods.
03:15"'Look, I mean, I always looked out for him at school, I drove him everywhere, I apologized
03:20to people when he was rude.'"
03:22Anyway, Mary refuses to attend Sheldon's wedding until he makes amends with his brother.
03:27During a heated heart-to-heart, Sheldon realizes how tough things were for Georgie, especially
03:32after their father passed away.
03:34"'After Dad died, who do you think took care of everything?'
03:37"'Mom did.
03:38Mom always took care of everything.'"
03:40"'Mom was a miss.
03:42Missy was a dumb teenager.
03:43I had to look after both of them.'"
03:45This hits Sheldon hard, and his reaction is genuinely touching.
03:49Young Sheldon fans know Georgie often looked out for his little bro, so it's hard not to
03:53get a little misty-eyed over their heartfelt reconciliation.
03:57"'It would mean a lot to me to have my big brother at my wedding.
04:05I wouldn't miss it.'"
04:09Number 17.
04:11Saving Leonard from jail time
04:12In Season 3, we flash back to how Sheldon and Leonard ended up as roommates.
04:16"'Your ability to perceive their existence is conditional on you passing the second and
04:20third barriers.'
04:21"'There's three.'
04:23"'Each more daunting than the last.
04:25Have a seat.'"
04:28While we're not sure we'll ever understand why Leonard moved in, to begin with, we sure
04:32get why he stayed.
04:34For one thing, Sheldon's total lack of social skills inadvertently spared him some serious
04:39federal prison time.
04:40"'Turns out she was a North Korean spy.
04:45Luckily Sheldon drove her out before I revealed anything important, which I'm not saying I
04:50would have.'"
04:51Then there was that incident with the elevator.
04:53We guess Sheldon figured that trudging up and down several flights of stairs every day
04:58was a small price to pay to save his roommate.
05:01He barely knew the guy.
05:02He didn't have to bail him out.
05:04Nevertheless, this moment really cemented the start of a beautiful, if somewhat dysfunctional,
05:09friendship.
05:10"'What'd you do that for?
05:11I had plenty of time.'"
05:12"'You're welcome.'"
05:19Number 16.
05:20Offering Penny career advice
05:22When Penny decides to quit her job at the Cheesecake Factory to focus on her acting
05:26career, Leonard can't stop putting his foot in his mouth.
05:29"'You got your job back.
05:30That is great news.
05:32I mean, I didn't want to say anything, but you are making the right choice.
05:35To plunge yourself into debt right now would be literally insane.'"
05:38"'Yeah, I'm just returning my uniform.'"
05:40In fact, he upsets her so much that she ends up turning to Sheldon, of all people, for
05:45advice.
05:46In his own Sheldon-ly manner, he reassures Penny that she made the right choice.
05:51"'The best way to achieve a goal is to devote 100 percent of your time and energy to it.
05:56Now when I decided I was going to be a physicist, I didn't take some other job in case it didn't
06:00work out.'"
06:01He might not always say the right thing, but this time, he nails it, reminding her
06:06that while putting all your eggs in one basket might seem risky, there's nothing more fulfilling
06:10than chasing your dreams.
06:12Leonard could definitely learn a thing or two from Sheldon about being supportive.
06:16"'Thank you.
06:17I needed to hear that.
06:18Why can't Leonard understand it?'
06:21"'Because he's not like us, Penny.
06:25We're dreamers.'"
06:26Number 15.
06:28Getting Penny to the hospital
06:29Sheldon might be the last person you'd want around when you're in pain, but in this case,
06:34he's all Penny's got.
06:35For all his shortcomings, he really steps up for her when she falls and hurts her shoulder.
06:40"'You gotta help me, please!'
06:42"'Alright, let it never be said that Sheldon Lee Cooper ignored the pleas of a damsel in
06:47distress!'
06:48"'No one's saying that.
06:49Let's go!'
06:50Sheldon helps her out of the tub, gets her dressed, and even drives her to the hospital,
06:55despite his fear of driving and the fact he doesn't have a license yet.
06:59Sure, his bedside manner leaves a bit to be desired, but when Penny calls him out on it,
07:03he genuinely tries to comfort her.
07:05"'Everything's going to be fine.
07:16Sheldon's here.'"
07:17She even manages to get a round of Soft Kitty out of him, begrudgingly.
07:21But it still counts.
07:23"'Soft kitty, warm kitty, little ball of fur, happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr,
07:30purr, purr, purr, purr, purr, purr, purr, purr.'"
07:3614.
07:37Anytime he offers a hot beverage
07:39It's often said that Sheldon isn't always aware or considerate of other people's feelings.
07:44However, he always seems to know when someone could use a hot beverage.
07:49"'Tea.
07:50When people are upset, the cultural convention is to bring them hot beverages.'"
07:56Asking someone if they'd like to talk about what's bothering them or offering words of
07:59comfort might not come second nature to him, but this is usually his go-to way of showing
08:05that he cares.
08:06He's not prone to physical affection, but we're sure one sip of a Sheldon-made drink
08:10feels like a warm hug from within.
08:12"'Tea does sound nice.
08:15You heard the man, Leonard.
08:20And while you're at it, I'm upset that we have an unannounced house guest, so make me
08:24cocoa.'"
08:25Hey, sometimes people don't want to talk, but even the smallest gesture can make them
08:29feel heaps better.
08:31It's even sweeter now that we know its origins, too.
08:34"'There was nothing I could do to fix this, or so I thought.'"
08:38"'Can I offer you a hot beverage?
08:41That would be nice.'"
08:4313.
08:44Sheldon comforts Amy with soft kitty
08:47While everyone expects Sheldon to be the one to mess up his and Amy's Nobel chances, it's
08:52actually Amy who causes a stir.
08:54"'We're the ones who discovered super-asymmetry, so if anyone's gonna feel like they have imposter
08:59syndrome, it's us, because we're not imposters, they are!
09:03You're imposters and you're frauds!'
09:06Not that she didn't have a good reason, if you ask us.
09:08The university quickly jumps into damage control mode while making Amy feel like she's carrying
09:14every woman in STEM, and young girls considering a career in the sciences on her shoulders.
09:18"'Dr. Fowler, you would be only the fourth woman to win a Nobel Prize in physics.
09:23I don't need to tell you just how inspirational that would be to a generation of young women.'"
09:27"'Yes, of course, I know.'"
09:30Soon enough, she cracks under the pressure.
09:32Sheldon's first instinct is to run away, and his second is to try distracting her by pretending
09:37to freak out himself.
09:39In the end, he comes through for her, and it's honestly so adorable, our hearts could
09:44burst.
09:45"'Happy kitty, sleepy kitty, purr, purr, purr.'"
09:50"'That helps.'"
09:51"'Shh, I'm singing.'"
09:53Number 12.
09:54Amy's birthday dinner
09:55Contrary to what we have seen so far, Sheldon isn't usually considered the most thoughtful
10:00person, not even to Amy.
10:02So we were pleasantly surprised when he announced his plans to celebrate her birthday.
10:07"'Why are you smoking meat?'
10:08"'And why are you reading Aquaman?'
10:11"'I am trying to make Amy a historically accurate Little House on the Prairie dinner
10:16for her birthday.'"
10:17If you're a fan of something your loved ones don't get, you can imagine how special it
10:21is when they organize an entire evening around it just for you.
10:25Sheldon really goes all out to give Amy an authentic experience.
10:28"'I don't know what you mean by electricity, ma'am.
10:31I am just a farmer boy living in a little house on the prairie.'"
10:37"'Ahhh!''
10:39She's so touched that she suggests moving up their annual night of celebratory coitus.
10:44Sure, they end up with food poisoning.
10:47Turns out modern stomachs can't handle 19th century cooking.
10:50"'There once was a priest from Terre Haute who purchased a sheep and a goat.'"
10:55"'Hold on a second.
10:59Is it getting hot in here?'
11:00"'Well, I didn't even get to the dirty part yet.'"
11:02Still, we're sure Amy appreciated all his efforts.
11:06And she was feeling better.
11:0811.
11:09A Saturnalia Miracle
11:11For someone who's dead-set against gift-giving and has even tried to sabotage it, Sheldon
11:16is surprisingly good at it.
11:18"'It's the perfect gift.
11:20How are you feeling right now?
11:22Guilty?
11:23Sad?
11:24Wishing you were Jewish?'
11:25"'No, I love it!''
11:29His Christmas present to Amy is super thoughtful, even if by accident.
11:33But let's be real.
11:34Is there a better gift than a hug from Sheldon?
11:37Those things are super rare.
11:38When Penny gives the guys their holiday presents, she gets an earful from Sheldon in return.
11:43"'The essence of the custom is that I now have to go out and purchase for you a gift
11:46of commensurate value and representing the same perceived level of friendship as that
11:50represented by the gift you've given me.'"
11:52Yet he does genuinely try his hardest to find the ideal gift to reciprocate.
11:56However, no amount of fancy bath sets could possibly measure up to the present she gives
12:01him.
12:02"'May you live long and prosper.
12:06Leonard Nimoy.'"
12:07"'He came into the restaurant, sorry the napkin's dirty, he wiped his mouth with it.'"
12:14So there's really only one thing left to do.
12:17Talk about a miracle, indeed.
12:19"'Leonard, look, Sheldon's hugging me!'
12:23"'It's a Saturnalia miracle!''
12:27Number 10.
12:28Planning a game night for Bernadette
12:30Sheldon and Bernadette aren't exactly the first big-bang pairing that springs to mind.
12:35"'Looks like Saturday night, it's you and me.'
12:37"'Me?
12:38How?
12:39Why?'
12:40"'Oh, it makes perfect sense.
12:41Like, because you're an expectant mother, you can't drink alcohol.
12:44I don't like to.
12:45You can't have sushi.
12:46I don't like to.'"
12:47But when Penny wins a wine-tasting experience, they hang out since Bernie's pregnant and
12:52can't drink, and Sheldon prefers his grapes in a juice box.
12:56He organizes a fetus-friendly festival of fun for the expectant mother, including a
13:01deep conversation about trains and a detailed exploration of toast.
13:05"'There's more than one?'
13:07"'You've heard of French toast?'
13:09"'Yeah.'
13:10"'Cinnamon toast?'
13:11"'Yeah.'
13:12"'Melba toast?'
13:13"'Yeah.'
13:14"'You get where I'm going here?'
13:15"'Yeah.'"
13:16It's not how we'd choose to spend an evening, but it's the thought that counts, and they
13:21do end up bonding.
13:23Of course, the night's highlight is the Dungeons & Dragons game Sheldon designed especially
13:28for his guest.
13:29"'For example, in this world, only the men get pregnant.
13:32So your husband is home, trying not to pee when he laughs.'
13:35"'This is getting fun.
13:37What's next?''
13:38She ends up having more fun than expected and thanks him for the much-needed distraction.
13:42"'Thank you for this.
13:43You know, ever since people found out I'm having a baby, I feel like I became pregnant,
13:49Bernadette.
13:50It was nice to take a little break tonight.'"
13:53Toasting Leonard's Voyage
13:55Sheldon struggles with varying emotions after Leonard accepts a research position that would
14:00take him to the North Sea.
14:02"'Well, now, do you think that's a good idea?
14:04I do.
14:07You know, Star Trek, should a guy with no name and a red shirt really go on an expedition?''
14:12On the one hand, he's concerned for his buddy.
14:15After all, the sea can be rough.
14:16However, that's partially just a cover-up for the green-eyed monster that's reared its
14:21ugly head.
14:22"'Oh my God, Sheldon the genius is jealous of Leonard.'
14:25"'I'm not jealous.
14:26I'm just very unhappy that good things are happening for him and not happening for me.'"
14:32Throughout the episode, Sheldon tries varying tactics to talk Leonard out of going until
14:37Penny tells him to be more supportive.
14:40So, when he gives a toast at Leonard's Bon Voyage party, we expect a tirade of cutting
14:45comments and unkind quips.
14:47Instead, Sheldon swallows his bitterness to express genuine happiness for his buddy.
14:52"'To my best friend, Dr. Leonard Hofstadter.
14:56He has been presented with a wonderful opportunity and I couldn't be happier for him.'"
15:02He keeps it short and sweet, but it's surprisingly heartwarming.
15:06Number 8.
15:07Sheldon ups his wedding game
15:09Wedding planning puts a strain on Amy and Sheldon's relationship when their rivalry
15:13results in the event of no one's dreams.
15:16"'Maybe we should just get married at City Hall and forget about everything else.'"
15:21"'City Hall?
15:25I do like metal detectors.'"
15:27So, they decide to bypass all the drama and head down to City Hall.
15:33Just as their names get called, Sheldon has a change of heart and expresses his love for
15:38Amy in the most Sheldon-like way.
15:40"'It's like finding dark matter.
15:43Except they're looking for dark matter.
15:44I wasn't even looking for you.
15:48So you're even better than dark matter.'"
15:50Perhaps it was City Hall's metal detectors that brought out his romantic side, but his
15:55loving words to Amy make us melt.
15:57"'When you make a discovery like this, you don't just take it down to City Hall.
16:02You tell the whole world.
16:04And so I'll say it in Latin or Klingon.'"
16:07A few episodes later, he gives Amy the compliment he didn't know she needed when he sees her
16:12in her wedding dress.
16:14And his vows on the big day are beautiful.
16:16"'Even if I can't tell you now how I feel, I will spend my life showing you how much
16:26I love you.'"
16:27We're not crying.
16:28You are!
16:297.
16:30Sticking up for his bestie
16:32This quirky genius might be the most selfish, arrogant, and frustrating roommate, but there's
16:37no denying his love for Leonard.
16:40"'Fine.
16:41You're one lucky little leprechaun.
16:46He's a hobbit.
16:47I got your back.'"
16:50Since the first episode, it's been clear that he will always have his back.
16:54We've seen him stand by him during confrontations with Penny's ex-boyfriend Kurt more than once.
16:59"'Sheldon, I am so sorry I dragged you through this.'
17:02"'It's okay.
17:03It wasn't my first pantsing and it won't be my last.'"
17:06He was also in Lenny's corner when his rude and obnoxious high school tormentor dropped
17:11by.
17:12"'You're a terrible person who took advantage of his tiny size, his uncoordinated nature,
17:17and his congenital lack of masculinity.
17:19Leonard, I platonically love you, ma'am, but face it, you're a mess.'"
17:23It shows a lot of dedication and courage to stick by his friends when faced with such
17:28physically challenging threats.
17:30He's also protective of Leonard's feelings.
17:32Well, he can be.
17:33When he worries that Penny might break his heart again, he pleads with her not to hurt
17:37his best friend.
17:39"'Penny.'
17:40"'What?'
17:41"'Please don't hurt my friend.'
17:43"'That is the last thing I want to do.'
17:47"'Thank you.'"
17:48Number 6.
17:49Loaning Penny Money
17:50Dr. Cooper has many annoying qualities, but stinginess isn't among them.
17:54"'Take some.
17:55Pay me back when you can.'
17:56"'Wow, you got a lot of money in there.'
17:59"'That's why it's guarded by snakes.
18:04Take some.'"
18:05When Penny shares her financial woes with him, he offers to help her out.
18:09No strings attached.
18:10He lets her take as much as she needs and doesn't set a deadline by which she must pay
18:15him back.
18:16"'I'll pay you back as soon as I can.'
18:17"'Of course you will.
18:19It's impossible to pay me back sooner than you can, assuming you subscribe to a linear
18:24understanding of time and causality.'"
18:26Penny's super grateful to him, but tensions rise when she starts to feel the pressure
18:30of her debt.
18:31Sheldon misinterprets her reaction and innocently questions if he didn't give her enough.
18:36"'You lent her money?'
18:37"'She needed money.
18:38You seem under pressure.
18:40Did I not lend you a sufficient amount?
18:42Because I can give you more.'"
18:43"'Oh, you know, you would just love that, wouldn't you?'
18:47Poor Sheldon.
18:48He was genuinely trying to be helpful, and his intentions were good, so her anger confuses
18:53him.
18:54Eventually, Leonard steps in to explain that this really is one of Sheldon's best qualities.
18:58"'You do understand that Sheldon really doesn't care when he gets the money back.
19:02It's actually one of the few idiosyncrasies that doesn't make you want to, you know, kill
19:06him.'"
19:07What a sweetheart.
19:08Number 5.
19:09Keeping Leonard's Secrets.
19:11Various.
19:12Among the many things that Sheldon Cooper dislikes, lying and secrecy rank pretty high.
19:17"'First of all, your lie was laughably transparent, where mine is exquisitely convoluted.
19:23While you were sleeping, I was weaving an un-unravellable web.'"
19:26Yet he's willing to do both for Leonard, whether he's weaving an un-unravellable tail to help
19:32him save face with Penny, or fabricating an Irish love interest to cover up his secret
19:37relationship with Priya.
19:38"'And if anyone were to actually call that number, they will hear this.
19:43"'Top of the morning to you.
19:47You've reached Maggie McGarry.'"
19:49He's even gone to extreme lengths when he's unable to keep a secret from Leonard.
19:54As we saw earlier, Sheldon also saved Leonard from revealing classified secrets to a spy
19:59and blowing up their apartment.
20:00"'Luckily, Sheldon drove her out before I revealed anything important, which I'm not
20:05saying I would have.'"
20:06"'So, that's it?
20:07You stay with Sheldon all this time because he kept you from going to federal prison?'
20:13Those are pretty big secrets.
20:15Like we said before, since they weren't yet friends, he wasn't obliged to keep them.
20:19Yet, for years, he did, proving that Sheldon can be a gold-star friend.
20:23"'Not only did Sheldon save my life, he didn't rat me out to the landlord, or the police,
20:28or Homeland Security.'"
20:29Number four, setting up a scholarship fund for Howard and Bernadette's child.
20:33The guys hit a roadblock while trying to patent their infinite persistence gyroscope.
20:38The trio takes matters into their own hands to ensure everyone gets their fair share of
20:43the profit.
20:44"'Guys, would it be cool doing it like that?'
20:45"'Of course.
20:46Split any profits three ways.'
20:48"'I'm fine with that.'"
20:49"'Okay, great.
20:51It sounds like a contract might be in order.'"
20:54Understandably, Bernadette is a little apprehensive about her husband signing a contract drafted
20:59by a man who consistently belittles his career.
21:02And she makes some pretty compelling points.
21:04"'Tried to work with him before, hasn't gone well.
21:08Why is this time going to be any different?'
21:11"'Is the fetus helping you?
21:12Because that's cheating.'"
21:14After some discussion, Penny suggests they add a clause that obligates Sheldon to be
21:18more respectful of his friend.
21:20Sure, he had to be told to play nice, but no one told him to make those additional changes
21:24on page six.
21:25"'Twenty-five percent of profits due to Sheldon Cooper will be allocated to a scholarship
21:29fund for the firstborn child of Howard and Bernadette Wolowitz.'"
21:33"'Sheldon, that's so nice.'"
21:37It ends up being a backhanded compliment, but the good intention and generosity were
21:42there.
21:43Sheldon, refusing to betray Amy for a Nobel Prize.
21:46Finally, Sheldon's on the path to his lifelong dream of winning a Nobel Prize.
21:51It couldn't be any better.
21:53"'You weren't even thinking about super-asymmetry?'
21:55"'Thinking about it?
21:57We don't even understand it!
22:01And now look at the four of us changing the face of physics!'
22:04He did it with his soulmate by his side, and their theory was proven by a couple of physicists
22:09from Chicago.
22:10Yes, it seems like Sheldon's about to get everything he's ever wanted.
22:14But then, doctors Pemberton and Campbell drop a major bombshell.
22:18"'The three physicists should be the ones to win the Nobel Prize for physics.
22:22Wait, so you want to cut Amy out?'
22:24"'No, of course not!'
22:26"'We don't want to, but we're going to.'"
22:29As much as Sheldon would love to win a Nobel Prize, he loves Amy even more.
22:34So when faced with deciding between the two, it's a no-brainer.
22:37"'This has been your lifelong dream, and you may not get another chance.
22:42I don't want to be the reason that you don't win a Nobel.'
22:45"'You're the only reason I deserve one.'"
22:48Sheldon's no romance ninja, but this is arguably one of the most romantic and sweetest things
22:54he's ever done.
22:55Do they give out Nobels for being the cutest?
22:57"'Amy and I did this together, and I will not be part of an award that does not recognize
23:01the value of her contributions.
23:03So you either include both of us in the recommendation letter, or don't bother writing one.'"
23:072.
23:08His Nobel Prize acceptance speech
23:09It's no secret that Sheldon could be a pretty awful friend.
23:14By the series finale, he's pretty much alienated everyone.
23:17"'They're abandoning us because you broke their hearts.'
23:20"'I didn't mean to.'
23:25"'I know!
23:27You never mean to!''
23:29But after an emotional heart-to-heart with Amy, he abandons his pre-prepared, egotistical
23:33Nobel acceptance speech and speaks straight from the heart.
23:37He dedicates his success to his family and friends, finally showing them the gratitude
23:41they deserve.
23:42"'I have been encouraged, sustained, inspired, and tolerated, not only by my wife, but by
23:53the greatest group of friends anyone ever had.'"
23:56Who doesn't well up when Sheldon acknowledges the role his loved ones played in his accomplishments?
24:01And when he asks each of his friends to stand, we're a complete mess.
24:05"'He said to me that their babies would be smart and beautiful.
24:12And now that they're expecting, I have no doubt that that will be the case.'"
24:15Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
24:19Making Amy his emergency contact, this is basically Sheldon's way of telling Amy that
24:24she's the one.
24:25"'Well, I thought, if I have a stroke or a kidney stone, who would I want to share
24:30that with?''
24:31"'And you picked me.'"
24:37Giving Howard his spot.
24:39Sheldon proves how truly sorry he is.
24:41It doesn't last long, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right?
24:44"'You love that spot.'
24:46"'No.
24:47I love my mother.
24:49My feelings for my spot are much greater.'"
24:51Comforting Leonard.
24:53He might be a rookie, but Sheldon can tell when his bestie needs a shoulder to lean on.
24:57"'Just remember, Leonard, where your biological family has failed you, you always have me,
25:03your surrogate family.'"
25:04Blowing his game for Wheaton's Meemaw.
25:07Sheldon's love for his Meemaw extinguishes his thirst for revenge.
25:11Too bad Wheaton was just messing with him.
25:13"'I came here to defeat Will Wheaton, the man who destroyed my dreams.
25:18But I can't defeat Will Wheaton, the man who loved his Meemaw.'"
25:22Teaming up with Schrodinger to play matchmaker to Penny and Leonard.
25:26Without Sheldon and Schrodinger's cat, who knows where Leonard and Penny would be today?
25:31"'Just like Schrodinger's cat, your potential relationship with Leonard right now can be
25:35thought of as both good and bad.
25:38It is only by opening the box that you'll find out which it is.'"

25:57Number 1.
25:58Consoling Howard after his mom dies.
26:01Throughout this episode, Sheldon's being his typical self-centered and annoying self.
26:05He's mad at Amy for collaborating with Kripke, so Penny tries to teach him how to let go
26:09of his anger.
26:10"'Now open your hand and let it go.'
26:13"'But I just got this pen.
26:16Boy, it's got my initials on it and everything.
26:19Look!''
26:20During the healing process, he annoys Penny by revealing that Amy's been testing her
26:24intelligence.
26:25By the end of the episode, almost everyone's at odds, but then Howard receives some heartbreaking
26:29news.
26:30"'That was my aunt.
26:31Ma took a nap.
26:36She never woke up.'
26:37"'Oh my God, Howie!''
26:41Everyone's at a loss for words, except, of course, Sheldon.
26:44However, rather than say something insensitive and inappropriate, as we all expected, his
26:49words are heartfelt and comforting.
26:51"'What?'
26:52"'When I lost my own father, I didn't have any friends to help me through it.
27:00You do.'"
27:01And, in a way, he's also telling his friends how much he values them.
27:05Sheldon doesn't often do sympathy, so when he does, it's always a welcome surprise.
