00:00The group of Pistons and Maribelas is now in Calderon, Tigil, Pasada as part of the Public Transport Modernization Program or PTMP.
00:08We will talk to Camody Floranda, president of the Pistons. Good morning Camody.
00:13Good morning sir Arnold and of course to our viewers, good morning to all.
00:20How is your monitoring at this time in Tigil, Pasada?
00:25Our members are just starting here in other MASAP areas here in the National Capital Region and outside of the National Capital Region.
00:35Where is this located, Camody?
00:38Here in NPR, we have in Nogalitchit, Monumento, here in Eron Greggie, in Pergold,
00:47we also have in Escapilla, Baclaran, Baclaran, Sucat, Paranaquit, Alabang and in Pasig, Pasig, Marikina.
01:00We also have in Angono, Rizal and in Manaba area.
01:07How many people are expected to be included in your transport strike this Monday? Will there be a lot of people, Camody?
01:14We are estimating that it will reach 80 to 90 percent.
01:19The movement will not only reach those who did not consolidate, but those who consolidated in the cooperatives will reach us.
01:31They will be seen and will be included in the movement.
01:36How many times did you protest against the PUB modernization, Camody?
01:41For us, sir Arnold, our position is clear.
01:45What we are fighting here is the forced consolidation, where they want to recover our francs and why we need to join the corporations and cooperatives,
01:59where they want to distance the government to fix our public transport.
02:04The government should be the one to create our own industry for us to develop our own economy.
02:13Do you think you can give your will to stop that program?
02:19For us, we are hoping.
02:23We are going through different things, especially the Senate resolution that was issued by the President-Senator,
02:33where the Senators are stopping the implementation of the PUBMP.
02:39That is also the position of our congressmen, that they are stopping the program and the study.
02:48But it's just a matter of time before the NCOT and the LCP are still pushing for the administration.
02:56That's why the government is doing different things.
03:00There is a consolidation in the program.
03:02Yes. But you have given some of your will, aside from the franchise.
03:09Won't the government and your family agree, Camody?
03:13What the Senate President is saying is clear, that the LCP has no right to return the franchise
03:25because the franchise was created by the Congress, and only the Congress has the right to return the franchise,
03:34as part of the Republic of the Constitution Treaty.
03:36That's why the Senate President is saying that the franchise was created by the LTFRB
03:44so that they can give the franchise to our operators, but they have no right to return it.
03:49Are there any other plans to stop the franchise because you can't talk to the LTFRB or DOTR?
03:58We will not stop the franchise until the administration of Bongbong Marcos,
04:13our operators and drivers and commuters agree.
04:17Thank you very much. Mody Floranda, president of Piston. Be careful, Camody.
04:22Thank you very much. Be careful.
04:27Thank you very much.
