You've got to check out the latest large screen TV to put on your radar. TCLs 115 inch Mini-LED TV is the biggest Mini-LED you can buy. TCL say the QM89 gives you 5,000 nits of brightness and 144 hz refresh rate for gaming while using 20,000 local dimming zones to reduce blooming. We'll have to verify how bright this TV actually is when we complete our TCL 115 inch smart TV review.

00:00You've got to see this. TCL's 115-inch mini-LED TV is the latest large-screen TV to put on your radar.
00:07That said, it's not just the size of the QM89 that's most impressive. Let's go check it out.
00:18What stands out most about this TV is the brightness and number of local dimming zones.
00:22There are very few TVs on the market that can claim up to 5,000 nits peak brightness.
00:27You know I just showed you guys the Hisense U9N, and that claimed 5,000 nits, but our testing
00:33didn't have it reaching that high. So it'll be very interesting to see if this TV lives up to
00:38this claim. But wow, look at some of those really bright and vibrant colors here. And brightness is
00:42only the half of it. You're looking at 20,000 local dimming zones. Yes, 20,000. And what that's
00:48going to mean is very limited blooming around these colors. You're going to get these really
00:53rich blacks in contrast with the color. That's what you want to see. In terms of color accuracy,
00:58the new 115-inch QM89 covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color space and can ramp up to a 144Hz refresh
01:07rate when connected to a PC. TCL has that partnership with Call of Duty, but in fact,
01:12the whole lineup for 2024 promises a great gaming experience. But I mean, how could you beat gaming
01:18on this big of a screen? A TV this big needs big audio hardware to match. You're looking at a 6.2.2
01:25channel sound system. In terms of audio features, there's a new enhanced dialogue mode as well as
01:31the ability for the new TCL soundbars to split the audio so the TV can be the center channel.
01:37With the TV itself as the center channel, voices will come from higher up on the screen or more
01:43in line with where people on screen are actually speaking. So it should feel a bit more realistic
01:47while you're watching and listening. I'm going to come sit at the recommended optimal viewing
01:53distance for a TV of this size. And when you think about it, this isn't that crazy large
01:59for a living room. So maybe a TV this size is making more and more sense. It's really deceptive.
02:05When I'm up close, it feels ridiculously large. But watching from here, it feels very normal.
02:11But if this TV is too big for you, you can also check out the TCL QM8. This is the brand's
02:16flagship and it comes in slightly smaller screens. I know we're looking at the 98-inch size right
02:22here. I know you might laugh when I say a 98-inch TV is smaller, but it goes down to 65 inches for
02:28the QM8 and you get the whole gamut of premium features across the lineup. Don't get me wrong,
02:32how could I not be excited about a 100-inch TV? But realistically, the QM8 is going to be the one
02:38that shoppers go for this year. This is the update to the version that's made all of our best lists
02:42and we're going to be updating those as these TVs come out and we can conduct our full reviews
02:47and benchmarks. This is officially the largest mini LED you can buy. Of course, you could go
02:54larger with micro LED if you're a multi-millionaire. Good for you. But TCL has sort of this unwavering
03:00commitment to value. Depending on if the price of this 100-inch TV is in your budget, do you think
03:05you'd pick one up? Be sure to let me know in the comments. You can also check out more on the QM89
03:11and all of TCL's lineups this year on tomsguide.com. Check out our behind-the-scenes on
03:16socials everywhere at Tom's Guide. And as always, I'm at Kate Kozich. Thanks for watching. I'll catch
03:22you next time.
