00:00It is awesome to meet you guys here. We are at Worksheet Junction in Math Mountain Land.
00:09This is a free worksheet you can download and work on it with me.
00:13Will you help me work out some of the problems? Great, thank you so much. Let's take a closer
00:20look into the worksheet.
00:26To start we need to review what a Math Mountain does.
00:29A Math Mountain is used to help us solve math problems. The two numbers on the bottom are
00:34the addends and the top of the mountain is the total.
00:43Here is the example that we can take a look at. The two addends are 5 and 10 and the total
00:49at the top of the mountain is 15. If we add 5 and 10 together what do we get?
00:58We get 15 which is the total. So the two addends added together equal the total.
01:05What if we tried subtraction?
01:09Here we have the same Math Mountain except we are subtracting. We start with the total
01:13which is 15 and subtract one side. Let's use the addend on the right, the number 10.
01:2015 subtract 10 gives us what? 5! 15 subtract 10 is 5. And you will notice that 5 is the
01:29other addend on the left. So if we take the total and subtract one addend we get the other
01:35addend. Great job guys!
01:40This is the first problem so let's work this one together. We can see that we have two
01:45addends but do not know the total. In order to get the total at the top we need to add
01:51the addends on the bottom. What is 4 plus 7?
01:57We get 11! Great job! Do you see how the Math Mountain works together? Cool stuff huh?
02:05Let's do a subtraction problem.
02:09Here we are subtracting and just as we learned before we can find one of the addends by subtracting
02:14the total from the other addend. So what is 20 subtract 6?
02:22The answer is 14! Amazing! This is awesome math!
02:28We went through two of the problems. Now you go finish the rest and see how you do. Great
02:33job again and thank you for joining me. Time to jet!
