00:00Rancho Manana.
00:02Fun little fact here, when I moved to Arizona four years ago,
00:05Rancho Manana, Cave Creek, Arizona,
00:07is the very first golf course I ever filmed at.
00:10I filmed on the sixth hole, par five, and we're back.
00:13We're gonna play, now we do three holes instead of one.
00:16We do a little voiceover situation.
00:18So we're gonna play four, five, and six.
00:20Anybody who spent time in Cave Creek, Arizona,
00:22at the old Buffalo Chip?
00:24You know this place well, not too far, just right down the street.
00:26Buffalo Chip might be the best bar in Arizona.
00:28But anyways, we're on the fourth hole.
00:30This is a 379-yard par four.
00:32We've got the mini driver in hand.
00:34We're just trying to hit a little cut.
00:36It's kind of a dogleg, well, definitely a dogleg, right?
00:38It's way tighter up there at the dogleg than I thought it was.
00:40Luckily, I didn't know that.
00:42I was kind of staring this down because I didn't really know it was up there.
00:44I heard a weird noise.
00:46Wasn't quite sure if that hit something, but it didn't.
00:48We get up there. It's right in the middle of the fairway.
00:50We had 124 yards, but as you can see, it is severely uphill.
00:53So I thought this play, at least somewhere in the 130s.
00:56I love having a fly-by-wedge to an elevated green like that.
00:59So I thought I'd hit a little mine iron.
01:01And this was a little thin.
01:03A little thin, but you can actually see the ball on this clip.
01:06It's cutting towards the pin, but a little thin.
01:08It's not going to stop, and it did not stop.
01:10It rolled all the way to the back of the green.
01:12I know people are going to look. They're going to see kind of browned-out patches around.
01:14I've said this before. I'll say it again.
01:16It's, you know, we had a record over 100 straight days of weather that's over 100 degrees.
01:20There's overseeding coming in soon.
01:22So you're not necessarily spraying all the water that you've got right now.
01:25And that wouldn't really be a good use of resources.
01:27We've got a long lag putt here.
01:29I think everything's going to break right to left.
01:31Beautiful views out here, by the way, at Rancho Mañana.
01:33And a decent little lag putt there.
01:35Great pace, but not necessarily the best read in history.
01:38We've got a little left-to-righter.
01:40And money. Just barely got it there.
01:43Not the fastest greens I've ever seen.
01:45A couple little things about Rancho Mañana.
01:47I love the little understated golf shop logo.
01:50I've shown a couple of those before. Great look.
01:52And it's action-packed. I mean, this place has people everywhere.
01:54It's a little bit chaos. There's people crisscrossing on different holes.
01:57There's all kinds of players coming through.
01:59So when I'm filming, putting the tripod out, it's definitely a little weird.
02:01I always feel weird, but definitely weird there.
02:03163 yards on the par 3, 5th hole.
02:07I've got an 8-iron in my hands. This is one of the better swings I've made.
02:10Pured it. I was trying to hit pretty much a little right of it with a little draw.
02:14That's exactly what I did. And it came out great.
02:16Landed pin-high. We've got ourselves a great look.
02:18This thing kind of felt like it would snap a little bit.
02:20And again, you can kind of see the mountains behind.
02:22We've got ourselves a nice view.
02:24And I don't know how that one doesn't go in.
02:26I mean, I know, because I got it below the hole and missed it low.
02:30Amateur. Here we come. We come to the par 5, 6th hole.
02:33It's a very short par 5. OB all down the left.
02:36And there's just another hole. I think it's the 8th hole.
02:39It's all up the right side, so you kind of hit it into the right fairway,
02:42which is what I ended up doing. This is not a good swing.
02:45I hit it way right, and it never came back.
02:47So I was in the middle of the fairway on the 8th hole.
02:49Get up there. You know, we had to do the whole thing.
02:51These guys were playing. I had seen them earlier.
02:53Kind of let them play through because I'm filming.
02:55They're like, ha-ha, we're back. We're all hitting in the same spot. Ha-ha.
02:58I got a 3-iron here. I had no idea what the yardage was. No clue.
03:00I think I was hitting it at that clump of trees.
03:02It was kind of my line. And I hit it pretty good.
03:04You can hear these guys kind of chiming in.
03:06Yeah, I think that's where he wanted to hit it. Nice strike. Great, great.
03:08So then we get up there, and things change dramatically at this point.
03:11Things change dramatically. I've never experienced anything like this before.
03:14And I was trying to convey it, but these guys that were on the tee
03:17who I was chit-chatting with, a lot of fans out there,
03:19saw a ton of people, had a great time.
03:21It's kind of a little bit of the people's course up in Cave Creek, which I like.
03:24These guys were on the 7th tee, and they were like,
03:26dude, we saw your ball come racing down the cart path.
03:29We actually even tried to stop it, and we missed it.
03:31My ball, I have no idea how far it went.
03:34It went all the way down this cart path, almost onto the green on the 7th hole.
03:38And I had no idea how far it was away.
03:42And I hit a 7-iron right at that kind of sign and had no clue.
03:46It came up just short.
03:48And then afterwards, I filmed this video of me driving back up the hill.
03:51We can go fast-forward through this, but I want you guys to realize
03:54how far this golf ball rolled.
03:57That was hit right at the green.
03:59Probably would have finished 15 yards short of the green
04:01with a little chip up the hill.
04:03Instead, I rolled all the way down there.
04:05So I hit a 7-iron just guessing.
04:08It was way uphill. I had no idea what the yardage was.
04:10Came up a little short, pitched this one up there,
04:12and had ourselves a little 10-footer or so for par.
04:15Pretty good effort, but just didn't give it enough.
04:17Nice views of the mountains in the background.
04:19Also great views throughout this of my G4s.
04:22I love the Galavantours.
04:24These things got the soft spikes. They're incredibly clean.
04:27And all the guys on the team rock all kinds of different G4s.
04:30They make great styles for everybody.
04:32I know we got the G112s. I love those as well.
04:35The MG4 Pluses, that's a Frankie staple.
04:38The versatile MG4 X2 Cross Trainers, that's a Trent.
04:43So we got all kinds of great styles of G4,
04:45and we want to remind you that you can get 10% off g4.com/.4.
04:48That is g4.com/.4.
04:5110% off. Your feet will thank you.
04:53Nobody makes shoes, golf shoes, better than G4.
04:56They're cool. They're stylish. They're comfortable. They're great.
04:58Rancho Manana, 1-over-3 with...
05:00I've got to say, I've never gotten a break like that.
05:02I've always wondered if that could potentially happen.
05:04And the fact that my golf ball rolled all the way down that hill
05:06and then didn't just go into some of the desert or the bushy stuff
05:09and just trundled its way down that little path
05:12is kind of miraculous.
05:13But I do love this spot.
05:14I've never played the back nine yet.
05:16I've gone out there and kind of filmed a little bit, played the front.
05:18I got through a couple holes in the back nine, and it's lovely.
05:21So big shout-out to Cave Creek.
05:22Big shout-out to G4.
05:23Big shout-out to that break, because I got a good kick out of that.
05:26That was good stuff.
