00:00Tell us a little bit about why you decided to come out and support the Burbank International
00:06Film Fest.
00:07Yeah, I'm so excited to be here.
00:08I love supporting film festivals that have both a range of short films and feature-length
00:12films.
00:13I feel like the networking is just so exciting and so immersive, and there's just an entire
00:17range of filmmakers to kind of find your niche, if you will.
00:20I also met Roy, who is a producer on Sunrise Boulevard, which is going to be showing tomorrow
00:25at 6 p.m.
00:26He came and supported my play in North Hollywood and told me all about his amazing period piece
00:31film that's going to be showing tomorrow, so I wanted to come check out all the films
00:35that we're playing.
00:36Tell us a little bit about your recent projects.
00:38What have you been up to lately?
00:39Yeah, so I have been in my Scream Queen era.
00:42We are in the fall, so it's perfect timing.
00:44I have two horror feature films coming out next year.
00:48One is Oak, featuring Armand Asante and Joy Lauren Adams, and I also have a feature film
00:53called Dead of Night, which is going to have Dermot Mulroney, who just booked a lead on
00:58like Chicago Fire or something exciting like that, so very cool things coming up.
01:03What is your binge-worthy TV show, movie, what are you watching right now?
01:07I am currently obsessed with Tell Me Lies on Hulu.
01:11If you liked Degrassi back in the day or The O.C., it's like the perfect marriage of both
01:15of those shows, so I'm definitely deep in on that, and they're doing a really cool thing
01:19on Hulu where they're releasing an episode per week, so kind of keeps the community involved
01:24in conversation, which I love.
01:26I think we should do a little bit of manifesting.
01:28Tell me about a dream role, dream collaboration.
01:32What is on your mood board?
01:35It is my absolute dream to do an Aubrey Hepburn biopic.
01:38I am a huge fan of her life and her story and her Eastern European roots and her dance
01:43background and what she does for the community and the United Nations or what she does, right?
01:47She's still alive in my mind, and so I would love to take on that.
01:50I feel like it's a big dream, but it's definitely on the vision board.
01:55And one last thing, you know exactly what the process is like from having a film be
02:00in the works to having a premiere at a film festival.
02:03Talk to me a little bit about what that journey is like, what are these artists feeling at
02:06this premiere?
02:07Serious question.
02:08Am I supposed to be talking here or to you?
02:09Either one.
02:10Okay, great.
02:11It is an extensive process from the beginning of film, pre-production, all the way through
02:18the final stage and then getting to see it.
02:19I think this is the moment where your hard work pays off, where you can showcase it to
02:24other people, where you have something to show when you're networking, to speak about
02:28that people may have even seen when you're already in the same place.
02:31So it's really that moment of gratification and satisfaction of all the hard work you
02:36put in because sometimes in pre-production you don't know if it's going to get made.
02:40And then seeing it all happen, it takes a village and I'm just really excited to see
02:44what everyone put together here today.
02:47Thank you so much for joining us, I hope you enjoy the film fest.
02:50Burbank International Film Festival, woo!
