00:00So what's the deal, Mike, does Purdy have a back problem all of a sudden?
00:07What's going on out there?
00:10They've got lots of problems out there, right?
00:12I feel like every week now they're just stacking more ailments on the pile.
00:17What a shame.
00:18San Francisco 49ers.
00:19What a shame.
00:20I knew you were going to say that.
00:21What a shame.
00:22We already know about some of their skilled position players, but now their quarterback,
00:26Brock Purdy, day-to-day with back soreness.
00:30I'm not sure when he got that, because I thought he looked pretty good on Sunday.
00:34He sure wasn't the reason why they lost that game to the Rams.
00:37But back soreness for Purdy, and to keep this going, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave, one
00:42of their better interior defenders, partially torn tricep, he's done for the regular season.
00:49And in the, this doesn't sound very good either, department for Christian McCaffery, he's going
00:54to see a specialist in Germany.
00:58That's right, Germany.
00:59He's going to Europe to see a specialist for his Achilles tendonitis.
01:04Now again, what happened here, Scotty?
01:07He got this injury in training camp in early August.
01:11Everyone said he was fine.
01:13He was going to play the first game, magically an hour before the game, he was out and in
01:18play.
01:19And now he's flying to Germany to see a specialist for three weeks later.
01:24This sounds like a guy who we're not going to see a lot of this year.
01:27That's what it sounds like.
01:28I mean, originally, I thought it was his calf.
01:32And now it's like his Achilles, and he's going to Germany to get it fixed.
01:39I don't understand.
01:40It has to be worse than everybody thought it was originally.
01:43I never thought it was this bad.
01:46And I can't wait to see what happens.
01:48I don't understand who he's going to see.
01:51I don't know the whole deal.
01:52But it doesn't sound like he's playing football anytime soon with this problem.
01:56And you're losing a guy like Hargrave.
01:57Now your quarterback's going to tweak back.
02:01It's one thing after the next with this team.
02:03And injuries will kill any football team.
02:05I don't care how good you are.
02:07Everyone thinks they're automatic to go to the Super Bowl every year.
02:11And the reality is, you can't do it if you have a bunch of guys banged up.
02:15You got to stay relatively healthy to get through the playoffs.
02:21Sometimes teams go the furthest just because they have health, and they're not all banged
02:25up with injuries.
02:26They have too many early season injuries for my blood.
02:30It's a problem.
02:31Their star players are all dropping like flies.
02:34Yep.
02:35And they've gotten out to now a 1-2 start after a couple of losses on the road.
02:40Now they do go home this week.
02:43And they have the Patriots coming across country.
02:46So we know the deal with the Pats.
02:48They won the first week, lost it over time, and then got smashed by the Jets on Thursday
02:53night.
02:54They take the long trip to San Francisco.
02:55Now they've got a minus 10, and I'm going to give you some numbers.
02:59Big spreads.
03:00They've been good for the team's getting.
03:03Let's just put it that way, Scotty.
03:05Through the first three weeks of the season, 39 and a half is the total.
03:11Even with all these ailments, can they cover this 10 points against the Patriots on Sunday?
03:15Well, I mean, think of the Rams game, right?
03:18They literally were up, what, by 14 in the fourth quarter, and they lost.
03:26So they can't hold a lead.
03:28They're not playing well.
03:29But then they get the convenience of playing this team.
03:33They're awful.
03:34They showed their true side, I thought, on Sunday when they couldn't score.
03:38Everyone thought, you thought, a lot of people thought that they weren't going to win.
03:44That four and a half total was, you know, under for a lot of sharks.
03:47They didn't think they were going to win games at all.
03:50And that was the first time we saw them really look awful and not do anything in a game.
03:54So I think San Francisco's lucky that they're playing them.
03:58This is an easy game for them, and I think they'll still crush this team.
04:01I don't think the Patriots are good, and I think the Niners can get past them.
04:05They should have got past the Rams, but they blew it.
04:09I mean, they just let Stafford come back and steal that game.
04:12They had no business winning that game.
04:15And I think a lot of it is because of their injuries.
04:18They got so many guys banged up, and, you know, the Rams did too.
04:22But nobody made excuses.
04:23They just, you know, next man up.
04:25Everybody did their job, and they somehow pulled it off.
04:29That was a horrible loss for them.
04:30They have to win this game.
04:32I think they'll take it out on the Pats.
