00:00And the main proposal of the United Nations, today we can affirm without failure that multilateralism
00:28of the United Nations, just as we've seen for the last decades, are under pressure and
00:34under a test, and also under attack.
00:40Multilateralism is changing, but not precisely in its right direction, much less in this
00:47moment is capable of guaranteeing all the members of the international community, especially
00:54in the sphere of peace and security, and in the last instance, in the direct implications
01:01it has on the state of development.
01:06The main principles of the United Nations Charter and the international law, based on
01:14it, has the power to undermine the state in the international arena and the precepts
01:27of our organization.
01:30The consequences of this attempt to degrade multilateralism could be terrible for the
01:38balance of the world peace and the international order.
01:46To move forward to a peaceful world, it's necessary to address effectively the roots
01:54of conflicts, poverty, and inclusion within nations that create conflicts in the whole
02:06world.
02:07Therefore, it is evident that without sustainable development of the whole population of the
02:13world, peace won't be achieved.
02:17To maintain peace and international security is the most important task of the Security
02:25Council, but it's important to take into account that this task must be carried out according
02:33to the principles established in the United Nations Act.
02:39Mr. President, the securitization of international relations has a negative impact, especially
02:47in developing countries.
02:50Instrumentalization and politicization of the Security Council to achieve advantages
02:59constitutes to its lack of action of this matter, where we are witnesses of brutal genocide
03:12on one side of the position of the United States and the lack of response of the National
03:21Security Council body.
03:24All of this is part of an effort to perpetrate impunity of this power, a reality that took
03:32the lives of more than 40,000 innocent people.
03:37Therefore, the works of the Security Council must reflect the reality of a multipolar world
03:45based on mutual respect of sovereignty, the principle of equality, rights, and political
03:54dialogue, tolerance, peaceful coexistence, the culture of peace and nonviolence, and
04:03respect for the principle of nonintervention in internal affairs of states, and stop the
04:10use of force against the territorial integrity or independence of states.
04:17To conclude, the member states of the Friends Group in defense of the United Nations Act
04:24renew its commitment with the world order, equitable and fair, according to the principles
04:33of the United Nations Act, to advancing the three principles of our organization, peace,
04:40security, sustainable development, and human rights, knowing that its realization will
04:50honor our promise to don't leave anyone behind and address the necessities and aspirations
04:59of we, the peoples of the United Nations.

05:22United Nations Charter.

05:28regarding Palestine's situation and the genocide perpetrated by Israel.
05:33Political dialogue, peaceful coexistence, respect the principle of nonintervention,
05:38those are facts that must prevail.
