Bristol's "brainiest" neighbourhoods: Watch as we ask locals general knowledge questions

Redland was revealed as the ‘brainiest’ neighbourhood in Bristol based on the percentage of people aged 16 or over with a degree or higher, according to the 2021 census.

Of course, it’s not entirely accurate to say that the higher the qualifications, the brainer the person is.

We headed to Chandos Road in Redland to test residents with general knowledge questions.

These were their responses. Can you do better?

00:00We're in Redland, the Bristol neighbourhood, where the most people were of a degree or higher,
00:04according to the 2021 census. Let's test our knowledge with four general knowledge questions.
00:10The questions will be on the screen, so you can also follow from home.
00:13The first question is, how many stars are in the European Union flag?
00:18Oh, that's a great question. It'll be around 27, 28, I'm not sure.
00:23Well, it used to be 50. Yeah, but has it gone down now?
00:28Oh, no, because Ukraine was added. Oh, no, that might have been NATO.
00:32I don't know.
00:3510?
00:3627 now, maybe 28 before.
00:4030-something. I can't remember how many mistakes there were.
00:46I think it might be something to do with the amount of countries that were in it initially.
00:50But I think, I don't know.
00:5212.
00:5512.
00:56The second question is, what country invented tea?
01:01Um, India?

01:14The third question is, what is the smallest country in the world?
01:19Country?
01:23Monocone?
01:25Yeah, no, it's not a country, is it?
01:28It's a city-state.
01:32I'm going for somewhere like San Marino.
01:34Vatican City.
01:37The Vatican?
01:38Vatican City.
01:39Yeah, probably Vatican.
01:40Uh, Vatican City.
01:42That's it, the Vatican City.
01:45And the last question is, in 1903, who was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize?
01:51Ooh, um, probably a scientist.
01:54Um, or was it...
01:57God, or was it that nuts?
01:58Mary, not Mary, uh, what's her name?
02:00Marie Curie or something?
02:01No.
02:02I don't know.
02:03It's like, uh, Marie Curie, yeah.
02:07Uh, I'm struggling to name female winners.
02:10I think anyone like Marie Curie?
02:12Correct.
02:13I don't even know any men that won Nobel Prizes.
