As ever it has been a very busy week in the city of Bristol with loads of stories in the news including disruption in the city due to the cold weather and the redevelopment of a youth club in south Bristol.

00:07me what is our first hot news story?
00:09Well, a major route is set to close for 10 nights and one weekend. The A4 portway is
00:17set to close in both directions from January 13 to February 2. This is to cut down some
00:27trees which have been infected with ash dieback along the A4 portway. The works will be taking
00:35place over three phases. On week one, between Park Road to Sylvian Way. Week two, between
00:43Sylvian Way and Bridge Valley Road. And during the weekend, between Bridge Valley Road and
00:49the A4 portway from Sylvian Way.
00:52The Camberland Basin flyover, also known as Brunel Way A3029, will remain open throughout
00:58the works. However, during the weekend closure on the 1st and 2nd of February, the slipways
01:04onto the A4 portway will be closed.

01:16M&S has finally confirmed an opening date of the much-anticipated new Bristol City Centre
01:22store. A new display board outside the former House of Fraser and Cavert Circus says M&S
01:30is moving into the unit in Autumn 2025. A Bristol Shopping Centre cinema is set to reopen
01:36under a new operator after its closure a year ago. Odeon are taking over the running of
01:43the 14-screen facility within Cavert Circus. The news follows a number of new openings
01:50planned for Cavert Circus, including Kingpin's Bowl and Treetop Golf in place of Jungle Rumble.
