00:00Lebanon Health Ministry has confirmed that over 6 persons were lifeless and 91 others
00:05injured after massive air military campaigns aimed at the leader of the Hezbollah fighters,
00:10Hassan Nasrallah at Beirut on Friday afternoon in Lebanon.
00:15Although Israel Defense Forces, IDF has confirmed that the massive airstrikes targeted at Hezbollah
00:21leader.
00:22Hassan Nasrallah was successful and the leader confirmed dead during the attack but Hezbollah
00:27has kept mum on the claim as at the time of filing in this report on Saturday morning.
00:33Israel State Media says that bunker-busting bombs were used on Friday afternoon to strike
00:38the Beirut residential buildings.
00:40The Israel military says houses Hezbollah bunkers beneath.
00:44The Israel Defense Forces also said the bunkers were also used as arms depots, storing high
00:50precision weapons planned to be used on Israeli civilians.
00:55Hassan Nasrallah has been one of the most wanted leaders and founders of the Hezbollah
01:00organization for years.
01:02He usually appears in a video from unknown locations.
01:06He last appeared in a video condemning the Peja's attacks in Lebanon that left thousands
01:11of people injured and numbers of the Peja's users feared dead, after the mobile anti-tracking
01:16devices exploded in populated areas and places in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon less
01:22than few weeks ago.
01:24Citizens' reports from Beirut on Friday night indicated that the residents were seen as
01:29shown in the photographs posted online lying on the streets in Beirut after being displaced
01:34from the southern suburb as a result of the Israel Army's continuous bombing in the city.
01:40AP International News Agency reported that the Israeli military struck Hezbollah's headquarters
01:46in Beirut in a series of massive explosions that targeted the leader of the militant group
01:51and leveled multiple high-rise apartment buildings.
01:55The biggest blast to hit the Lebanese capital in the past year appeared likely to push the
02:00escalating conflict closer to full-fledged war, and at least six people were killed and
02:0691 were wounded, Lebanon's health ministry said.
02:10Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was the target of the strikes on the group's headquarters,
02:15according to two sources, including one U.S. official.
02:20The Israeli army declined to comment on who it was targeting.
02:24It was not immediately clear if Mr. Nasrallah was at the site and Hezbollah did not comment
02:29on the report.
02:31The toll is likely to rise significantly as teams are still combing through the rubble
02:36of six buildings.
02:38After the strikes, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu abruptly cut short a visit
02:43to the U.S. to return home.
02:46Hours earlier, he addressed the U.N., vowing that Israel's intensified campaign against
02:52Hezbollah over the past two weeks would continue, further dimming hopes for an internationally
02:57backed ceasefire.
02:58News of the blasts came as Mr. Netanyahu was briefing reporters after his U.N. address.
03:05A military aide whispered into his ear, and he quickly ended the briefing.
03:11Israeli Army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hegeri said the strikes targeted the main
03:16Hezbollah headquarters, saying it was located on the ground beneath residential buildings.
03:22The series of blasts at around 9-4 reduced six apartment towers to rubble in Harit Raqq,
03:28a densely populated district of Beirut's Dahiyeh suburbs, according to Lebanon's National News
03:34Agency.
03:35A wall of billowing black and orange smoke rose into the sky as windows were rattled
03:41and houses shaking 18 miles north of Beirut.
03:44Footage showed rescue workers clambering over large slabs of concrete, surrounded by high
03:49piles of twisted metal and wreckage.
03:53Several craters were visible, one with a car toppled into it.
03:57A stream of residents carrying their belongings were seen fleeing along a main road out of
04:03the district.
04:04Israel's air forces followed with a new set of strikes early on Saturday shortly after
04:11an Israeli military spokesman warned residents of several buildings to evacuate, saying they
04:16were being used by the militant Hezbollah group.
04:19An attempt to assassinate Mr. Nasrallah, successful or not, would be a major escalation.
04:26The Pentagon said the U.S. had no advance warning of the strikes.
04:31He has been in hiding for years, rarely appearing in public.
04:36He regularly gives speeches, but always by video from unknown locations.
04:42The site hit on Friday evening had not been publicly known as Hezbollah's main headquarters,
04:47though it is located in the group's security quarters, a heavily guarded part of Harith
04:53Reek where it has offices and runs several hospitals.
04:57The funeral of Hezbollah drone commander Mohammed Hussein Soal took place this week.
05:03Four hours after the strike, Hezbollah had still not issued any statement referring to
05:08it.
05:09Instead, it announced that it had launched a salvo of rockets at the Israeli city of
05:14Seft in defense of Lebanon and its people and in response to the barbaric Israeli violation
05:21of cities, villages and civilians.
05:25The Israeli military said a house and a car in Seft were hit, without providing details.
05:31The Israeli army later warned residents to evacuate three buildings in other southern
05:36Beirut neighborhoods, saying it was about to strike them because Hezbollah was using
05:41them to hide weapons.
05:43Israel dramatically intensified its strikes in Lebanon this week, saying it is determined
05:49to put an end to more than 11 months of Hezbollah fire into its territory.
05:54The escalated campaign has killed more than 720 people in Lebanon, including dozens of
06:01women and children, according to health ministry statistics.
06:05A pre-dawn strike on Friday in the border town of Cheba killed nine members of the same
06:10family, the state news agency said.
06:14Israel Defense Forces said its forces killed Hezbollah missile unit commander Mohammed
06:19Ali Ismail, who it said was responsible for directing numerous terror attacks against
06:25Israel, and his deputy Hussein Ahmad Ismail during an attack in southern Lebanon on Tuesday.
06:32There was no immediate confirmation from Hezbollah.
06:36The scope of Israel's operation remains unclear, but officials have said a ground invasion
06:41to push the militant group away from the border is a possibility.
06:46Israel has moved thousands of troops towards the border in preparation.
06:51At the UN, Mr. Netanyahu vowed to continue degrading Hezbollah until Israel achieves
06:57its goals.
06:59His comments darkened hopes for a U.S.-backed call for a 21-day truce between Israel and
07:05Hezbollah to allow time for a diplomatic solution.
07:09Hezbollah has not responded to the proposal.
07:12Iranian-backed Hezbollah, the strongest armed force in Lebanon, began firing rockets into
07:18Israel almost immediately after Hamas's October 7 attack last year, saying it was a show of
07:24support for the Palestinians.
07:27Since then, it and the Israeli military have traded fire almost daily, forcing tens of
07:32thousands of people to flee their homes on both sides of the border.
07:37An Israeli security official said he expects the campaign against Hezbollah would not last
07:42for as long as the current war in Gaza, because the military's goals are much narrower.
07:48In Gaza, Israel aims to dismantle Hamas's military and political regime, but the goal
07:54in Lebanon is to push Hezbollah away from the border, not a Haifa like Gaza, in terms
08:00of operational objectives, said the official.
08:04The Israeli military said it carried out dozens of strikes around the south on Friday, targeting
08:10Hezbollah rocket launchers and infrastructure.
08:13It said Hezbollah fired a volley of rockets towards the northern Israeli city of Tiberias,
08:19Associated Press news agency reported.
08:22Few hours ago, unverified reports indicated that Iranian cargo plane was forced to make
08:29a U-turn after air traffic warning from Israel not to land in Beirut.
08:34Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister while speaking at the United Nations General
08:40Assembly, longer in USA on Friday before the massive airstrikes in Beirut, said Iran is
08:47the cause of the conflicts in the Middle East.
08:50That Israel wants peace but the continuous aggression from Iran is frustrating and aiming
08:55more attacks at Israeli civilians.
