00:00President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. led the opening of a new factory in Tarlac
00:06which is the first manufacturing plant for the battery used in EV vehicles.
00:12This is the story of Allan Francisco.
00:17To the entire team behind the St. Big Eagle factory,
00:21thank you for taking this leap of faith with us.
00:24You have established a foundation
00:27for a cleaner, greener, and more prosperous Bagong Pilipinas.
00:58This inauguration of the St. Big Eagle factory
01:03is a remarkable example of what happens
01:06when our national agenda of promoting clean energy
01:10intersects with a solid commitment from the private sector.
01:14Your Excellency, Ambassador, you hit the nail on the head there.
01:19This is the best example that we can show.
01:22Not only because we have finally brought it to fruition
01:27but we brought it to fruition in what I consider to be record time.
01:32In fact, this development is among the pledges
01:35that we received during the Philippine Business Forum in Australia, Melbourne, last March,
01:40in Canberra, six months later.
01:43We are witnessing how this pledge has come into reality.
01:47STB Capital Partners, which is based in Australia,
01:53is a partner of the Philippine Government.
01:56This is the result of the Philippine Business Forum
01:59that President Marcos held on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Australia Summit last March.
02:04The President said that this is the result of the good cooperation between the Philippines and Australia.
02:10It sends this message to the world.
02:12The Philippines is now ready to innovate, to lead,
02:16to become the go-to destination for high-tech, high-impact investments.
02:21According to President Marcos,
02:23this will give the expected 5 billion pesos investment projection.
02:28More than 2,000 Filipinos will receive this job.
02:33So from engineers and technicians to administrative personnel,
02:37it is about nurturing homegrown talent
02:40and offering opportunities that match the ambitions right here on our own soil.
02:46The President hopes that with the launch of this factory,
02:50other investors will be interested to enter and build renewable energy investments in the Philippines.
02:57The factory is expected to start commercial operations next month.
03:03From Kapas Tarlac, Alan Francisco, for Pamansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
