00:00for United as well.
00:01To Tyne Castle next and Stephen Naismith lost his job last week
00:05so managerless Hearts faced a Ross County team
00:07whose last away win was over a year ago.
00:30August saw Stephen Naismith and his management team
00:33sign new deals at Tyne Castle
00:35to keep them here until the summer of 2026.
00:3844 days later it was different paperwork being completed
00:42as the walls came tumbling down.
00:44Enter stage left Liam Fox.
00:46The former Hearts youth never made a senior appearance for the club
00:49but he does get a chance to manage them today.
00:52He is in temporary charge.
00:56Hearts started brightly and faded alarmingly in Paisley
00:59last week.
01:00Liam Fox made five changes.
01:02He hands a debut to young Adam Forrester.
01:05The right full-back will cover the injury to Gerald Taylor.
01:08Kent Devlin-Rowles and Forrest all come in.
01:11Halkett, Spittle, Boateng and Penn Rice miss from the starting XI.
01:16For Don Cowie, side drew 3-3 in an exciting game against St Johnston.
01:20He makes one change from that start XI.
01:22Miki Ifeiti in for James Brown.
01:30Shanklin to Devlin to Grant.
01:34Kept in by Vargas.
01:36Lovely flick back from Forrester.
01:38Vargas on the left foot, deflected away by Randall.
01:43Tries the shot.
01:45Well, it was an easy take initially.
01:48And a brilliant challenge.
01:49It should have been 1-0.
01:51Ross Laidlaw couldn't get there.
01:54And Ryan Leakes somehow keeps his side level.
01:57Well, sometimes a great tackle is as good as a goal.
02:04Grant.
02:07Kai Rose, Hart's finding some space.
02:10Left and right, Forrest up against Ifeiti.
02:13Forrest clips on the inside.
02:15There's Cammie Devlin, another chance for Devlin.
02:17And Laidlaw with the save.
02:21That's better goalkeeping from Ross Laidlaw.
02:24And a decent effort from Cammie Devlin.
02:27Well, he thought he was on the score sheet earlier.
02:29And Shanklin hooked the ball back to him.
02:31But Ryan Leake with an incredible block.
02:36Kingsley into the middle.
02:38Hart's very fortunate to get something out of that.
02:41It was a poor ball in.
02:43And John and White unable to clear correctly.
02:46Hart's with the early chance through Devlin.
02:50That's played in low.
02:53Great effort.
02:54Alan Forrest made himself available.
02:56There's a head knock in the area.
02:59And Ross Laidlaw with another good save.
03:03Well, it was the vice-corner.
03:05Cracked in.
03:06Whizzed past Connor Randall.
03:08He had his hands down by his side.
03:14Still can't find the breakthrough.
03:17Knotted together at nil-nil.
03:19Three nil-nils in the last 15 meetings of these sides.
03:22Plenty of time for a goal.
03:23And Ross County are looking for one here.
03:25Connor Randall still going in.
03:27Beningame brings back to Hale.
03:30Sensational strike for Ross County.
03:34Make it 6-10 for Ronan Hale and Ross County colours.
03:38And that, the pick of the bunch.
03:41Well, great celebrations for Ross County.
03:43And why not?
03:44There's the little flick ball in by Hale.
03:46Continued his run up against Kent.
03:49Beningame looked to have done the job.
03:52But it broke kindly for Hale.
03:54Well, he should get an assist as well for the way he flicked that across.
03:59But the finish, Craig Gordon could do absolutely nothing about it.
04:04And Ronan Hale is looking like a really shrewd addition for Ross County.
04:08This, one of the goals of the month.
04:15More trouble, downtown Castle Way.
04:17Let's see how tight Ross County are.
04:24Two thirds of the pitch to play with and make it hard in the final third.
04:29Leak away, Beningame tries to win it.
04:35Kingsley with the header, it's a good one!
04:37Shanklin!
04:39Well, last season that goes in.
04:42But it's been a different tale for Lauren Shanklin.
04:45Eight games without a goal to start the season.
04:48But Lauren Shanklin had five goals this time last year.
04:53Today, at the end of September, he's still looking for his first.
04:57And the Hearts fans must have thought he had it.
05:04Beningame does well and Hearts breaking through Vargas.
05:09The jersey was tugged.
05:12And the card will come out.
05:15Well, the referee sees the tug and the yellow card is going to come out every day.
05:29Long on the angle.
05:31It's a good solid head away.
05:32Cairos brings it down.
05:33Shanklin!
05:34Off the crossbar!
05:38Well, it's the second time today he's looked set to score.
05:42As Hearts come forward.
05:43Barry McKay.
05:44McKay on the inside.
05:45Good block.
05:47In for a second time and pushed away.
05:49Wright did well.
05:53Well, the goalkeeper was beaten but the crossbar wasn't.
05:59That looked to be the moment where Lauren Shanklin was back on scoring form.
06:03Here's Ryan Leake.
06:04Shows too much of it to Rhodes.
06:08Leake with a little push.
06:11Hearts continuing to come.
06:13Alan Forrest stepping in from the right side.
06:19And he stepped away.
06:21And Laidlaw didn't get a touch.
06:23And Shanklin shuffled his feet beautifully as the ball was played to him by Forrest.
06:29That would have been made in Australia and converted by the Scottish international.
06:34But denied.
06:36Last season he couldn't stop scoring.
06:38This season he just can't find his way to do so.
06:43Might be an opposition player but a little wave.
06:46All the same.
06:48Gamble with the long throw.
06:50That's an awkward bouncing ball and a back post chance.
06:54And Akeel Wright who scored in the last two weeks should have made it 3-3.
06:59And should have had three points wrapped up for Ross County.
07:02The long throw, horrible bounce.
07:04Hearts couldn't get a flick on it through Kyroles.
07:06And the defender couldn't hit it on target.
07:13Round the corner by Mackay.
07:15On to Kingsley.
07:17Hearts can see.
07:19There's a sea of red shirts.
07:21Spittle plays it through.
07:23Grant turns, shoots.
07:25Good save Laidlaw.
07:27And he'll gather it himself.
07:29Hearts and nobody else out on that side.
07:3117 shots now for Hearts.
07:33Five on target.
07:35And none have found their way past Ross Laidlaw.
07:37There's one or two heading for the exits but not that many.
07:40Hope springs eternal.
07:42Danda.
07:44On to Spittle.
07:46Comes back.
07:48Here's a chance for Boyce.
07:50Shankland!
07:52And Laidlaw makes the save.
07:54And Ross Laidlaw denies Lauren Shankland.
07:56Last season's top goal scorer.
07:58Still can't find the back of the net.
08:00Great positioning again.
08:02But the goalkeeper out so quickly.
08:04Hearts cannot find a way through.
08:07Corner.
08:09Header!
08:10And Hearts are level.
08:13Lauren Shankland.
08:16Believe it, Craig Gordon came up for this one.
08:19And it's a look of relief on the skipper's face rather than anything else.
08:24Hearts are in an ever-say-die attitude about them today.
08:27The Norse County may feel hard done by.
08:29Undone by a corner at the death.
08:31Believe it, Craig Gordon was up.
08:33And somehow, through all of this,
08:35he was able to find a way through.
08:37Believe it, Craig Gordon was up.
08:39And somehow, through all of the bodies,
08:41managed to find its way into the back of the net.
08:49It's all over at Tyne Castle.
08:51And Ross County were oh so close
08:53to ending a run of 20 away league games without a win.
08:57They have to settle for a point.
08:59It's finished at Tyne Castle.
09:01Hearts won.
09:03Ross County won.
09:04We're not sitting here celebrating a draw at home.
09:08But I think the thing I would like to get across is the players kept going.
09:12And we went to the 96th minute.
09:14And like you say, we created numerous chances today.
09:17And the most important thing is that we stopped the running results that we've been having.
09:23So I've got to give them credit for that.
09:25There is things that we can do better.
09:27We know that.
09:28We changed a couple of wee things at half-time
09:30just to try and get us to be a wee bit braver.
09:32To be a wee bit more aggressive in the final third.
09:34But like I say, the main thing that I want is to come across is that
09:39we're not happy with the point at home.
09:41But I'm happy with the players kept going to the very end.
09:43And we got something rather than nothing.
09:45Well, I enjoyed it because I'm seeing a group of players
09:47that are working ever so hard for each other,
09:49putting their bodies on the line.
09:51I thought we'd got to that point.
09:53Maybe if we just see out that last corner,
09:55we go away with three points.
09:57It's not to be.
09:59But I'm extremely proud of the group.
10:01Hearts still searching for that first win.
10:04First win of the season.
10:06And heartbreak for Ross County.
10:08Seconds away from an away win.
10:10Their first in a very long time.
10:12But it was Ronan Hale of Ross County
10:14that got the first goal of the game.
10:16Barry, brilliant finish.
10:18He's impressed me.
10:20Yeah, I think so.
10:22He's been a great addition.
10:24I think when you see it here,
10:26I think the most impressive,
10:28obviously he comes towards the ball here
10:30as a great flick to start with.
10:32Brilliant.
10:34No touch.
10:36Bang.
10:38The goalkeeper has no chance.
10:40What a finish that is.
10:42He's on speed.
10:44I know the ball's falling well here.
10:46If you watch it here,
10:48just this, first time,
10:50takes the goalie by surprise as well.
10:52How impressive have you been with him, Neil?
10:54It's so instinctive.
10:56I think when you lose Simon Murray
10:58and how many goals
11:00and the type of performances
11:02that he gave to Ross County.
11:04Just his behaviour,
11:06just to put the brakes on a little bit,
11:08let Frankie Kent go towards the goal
11:10and then just finish it first time.
11:12We had Conor Randall circled as well.
11:14His impact on that goal was huge
11:16because he's breaking games up
11:18and then he's bursting forward.
11:20But he looks a real, real fighter.
11:22Yeah, well County worked ever so hard today
11:24but you're right to point out Conor Randall.
11:26He can have epitomised that.
11:28He does.
11:30He's a guy who's played most of his career
11:32at full-back and wing-back.
11:34He doesn't like to play with the anchor on.
11:36He'll break when he has to
11:38but he's got the second most interceptions in the league.
11:40He's got the second most tackles made in the league
11:42for Ross County.
11:44So it shows that he's putting himself
11:46in positions where
11:48he's quite prepared to pass up
11:50the glamour moves
11:52or the glamour skills
11:54and just put his foot in when he needs to
11:56and break the game up
11:58and just try and set Ross County off
12:00on attacks.
12:02And I think today, even now,
12:04he was maybe struggling with a wee calf injury
12:06but he just puts the afterburners on
12:08for a couple of yards, mops up
12:10and he gets a well-earned
12:12pat on the back from his manager.
12:14So he sort of developed his game into something
12:16that I think Ross County
12:18and Don Cowie in particular felt they needed
12:20which was that anchor in the middle of the pitch.
12:22Hearts had a load of chances today.
12:2420 shots on goal
12:26but it took them until the last seconds of the match
12:28to get their goal.
12:30Just a wee bit lacking in confidence
12:32in front of goal just now about it?
12:34I think it's a great header as well
12:36but you can see they're hitting the crossbar here
12:38they're threatening the goal
12:40what was their goals, expected goals
12:42two and a half, whatever it is
12:44it's all there
12:46and they need things to start getting in
12:48you'd think Lawrence would just slide that down the side
12:50you were saying a minute ago Neil
12:52you'd just slide that down the side
12:54and normally he would but
12:56this is a great header from him as well
12:58and they've still got that quality.
13:00The hard part for Hearts now
13:02as well as they're going to go and take a new manager in
13:04the training pitch with these players
13:06he's not going to have any time
13:08and it's just going to be game after game after game.
13:10Were you surprised to see Stephen Eastmouth
13:12lose his job so early in the season?
13:14I think he felt he had good credit in the bank as well
13:16a couple of semi-finals last year
13:18third place finish at a canter
13:20European football
13:22but on that losing run
13:24you know you're going to come under pressure
13:26I've been there before
13:28Barry's been there before
13:30you know you're going to come under a bit of heat
13:32but today's performance epitomised
13:34the conjecture we were listening to upstairs on the radio
13:36whether he'd scored it or not
13:38whether it was a deflection
13:40he absolutely scored it
13:42we were watching it
13:44and it's just no emotion
13:46it's pure relief
13:48it's almost anger that it's taken that long
13:50for him to get off the mark
13:52because he's so prolific
13:54so when your top man isn't scoring
13:56and things are not working out
13:58then of course you're going to come under pressure
14:00as a manager
14:02but I really hope to get things going.
14:04And then they go and empty him
14:06and they go and get someone else
14:08a good young manager
14:10you've got the time to let him go
14:12because they're too good a team
14:14too many good players
14:16they will start to perform again
14:18but now they're going to have to go and change it all up
14:20they're going to have to go and get someone else in
14:22not to start the season
14:24loads of games coming
14:26it'll be difficult for them
14:28Should it well be?
14:30OK well resurgent Motherwell
14:32made it four wins from five last weekend
14:34three match unbeaten run
14:36Sean Elderbrunt is your commentator
14:40After the highs of last weekend's
14:42League Cup quarter-final triumph
14:44it's back to league business for Motherwell
14:46to face the St Mirren side
14:48who are unbeaten in their last four meetings

15:24Wide to Bomono
15:26Chance to clip one into the area
15:28Good touch from Phillips
15:30What a finish from Killian Phillips
15:32A fantastic start for St Mirren
15:36The Irishman getting his first goal
15:38for the club
15:40and in some style too
15:42The touch, the skill, the awareness
15:44all coming together in one fell swoop
15:46and just like that
15:48the Saints are in front
15:54Taylor
15:56O'Hara
15:57Slack pass picked off by Moses of BA
15:59Chance for Motherwell
16:01to try and level things up
16:03and the Nigerian
16:05can only find the side netting
16:07More than a half chance for Motherwell
16:09Really good front foot
16:11aggressive play from a BA
16:13but Motherwell's late goal specialist
16:15doesn't have his eye in
16:17just quite yet
16:19A BA
16:21sets it for Miller
16:23whose strike is well blocked by Phillips
16:25and it will be a corner to Motherwell
16:29Corner swung in deep
16:31a tangle of bodies in the area
16:33and Lloyd Wilson
16:35the referee points to the spot
16:37a booking for Marcus Fraser
16:39no hesitation
16:41and it will be a corner to Motherwell
16:43Corner swung in deep
16:45a tangle of bodies in the area
16:47and Lloyd Wilson
16:49no hesitation from the referee
16:51We may just see it on the replay here
16:53Fraser with his hands all over Dan Casey
16:55and down he went
16:57Lennon Miller to take the penalty kick
16:59having fired Motherwell
17:01into the League Cup semi-finals
17:03from the spot last weekend
17:05It's Miller
17:07Different side, same outcome
17:09Lennon Miller
17:11He can do no wrong at the moment
17:13His first premiership goal of the season
17:15Coolly done
17:17Sending Balcombe the wrong way
17:19and just like that
17:21it's level at Fort Park
17:26Fraser
17:29Phillips
17:31Clips one into the area
17:33Helped on by
17:35Toyosi Olasanya
17:38Great vision from Phillips
17:40A good run too from Olasanya
17:42but the sweeping effort
17:44just finding the side netting
17:48Positively by O'Donnell
17:50who
17:52seems to have been filled in the aftermath
17:54and it's a yellow card for Scott Tancer
18:00The touch from O'Donnell
18:02taking it past the St Mirren fullback
18:04and the shoulder charge
18:06leading to a booking
18:10McGint
18:11McGint
18:14Clips one forward, knocked down to O'Donnell
18:19Halliday there to pick up the scraps
18:22Finds Lennon Miller
18:24Chance to make it two
18:26Lennon Miller
18:28At the double for Motherwell
18:32The teenage sensation
18:34with an absolutely fabulous finish
18:36The ball in from Halliday
18:38The touch took a
18:40couple of ricochets but
18:42Miller kept his cool
18:44and picked out the bottom corner
18:51Ball in from Boyd Munce
18:53The header saved by Oxford
18:55Phillips following up
18:57Blocked by Dan Casey
18:59and it's a penalty to St Mirren
19:01and a red card for Dan Casey too
19:07Lloyd Wilson
19:10What seems to have been a handball
19:13Great goalkeeping from Oxford
19:15and you see it just there
19:17The shot which was goal bound from Phillips
19:19blocked by the hands of Casey
19:21and it's a straight red card
19:25Mark O'Hara
19:27The former Motherwell man
19:29with a chance to level things up
19:31and it's a great save by Aston Oxford
19:37O'Hara stepping up
19:39to Motherwell
19:41Really cool
19:43but Oxford at full stretch
19:45tipping it on to the post
19:52That's slack from Boyd Munce
19:54Pounced upon by Miller
19:56and that was inches wide
19:58from making it 3-1 to Motherwell
20:00Almost a hat-trick moment
20:02for the teenager
20:09Taylor
20:12White to Tancer
20:14Fires one into the area
20:16It's a good ball too
20:18and Killian Phillips
20:20Arriving late into the box
20:22as Cushant header just too central
20:32Stephen O'Donnell challenged by Scott Tancer
20:36and Scott Tancer
20:38has shown his second yellow card
20:40and a subsequent red too
20:43Stephen Robinson is aghast
20:49We'll see it again on the replay here
20:51The challenge
20:53Tancer got the ball first but
20:55looks as though the follow-through
20:57is what he was punished for
21:00Wilson
21:02crosses
21:04and finds Lennon Miller
21:06Yet again a chance to complete the hat-trick
21:09It was a teasing ball in from Ewan Wilson
21:12Miller did really well to get across his man
21:14but just couldn't find the net
21:23McGint
21:25lifts it in, Stamatolopoulos!
21:27Oh, what a save by Hilary Balcombe
21:31Motherwell's big name, summer signing
21:33So close to getting his first goal
21:35and Claritin Amber
21:37A delicious delivery
21:39a powerful header
21:41and sensational goalkeeping
21:43from the on loan Brentford man
21:51And that will be that
21:53Three points for the home side
21:55Two goals from Lennon Miller
21:57Plenty of action, plenty of drama
22:00Some game at first
22:02It finishes, Motherwell 2
22:04St Mirren 1
22:06It was a rollercoaster, Jane
22:08I thought St Mirren scored against them in a play
22:10Bit frustrated with it
22:12Something we'd looked at
22:14and we make the wrong choice in the lead-up to their goal
22:16We get our noses in front
22:18and then obviously everything you say at half-time
22:20goes out the window
22:22A matter of minutes later
22:24when Dan Casey's red carded
22:26He was adamant at the time
22:28he felt that it hit his body and then onto his arm
22:30I understand the decision
22:32but it hit his body down the line
22:34and in the end the players stood tall
22:36I thought they managed the game out really well
22:38in the injury time especially
22:40and it's a massive victory for us
22:42and it just keeps that feel-good factor going
22:44Sometimes you lose games
22:46and you put good performances in
22:48and managers get criticised for backing their players
22:50but I can't say too much bad things about the players today
22:52rather than we could have taken chances
22:54and been in control of our own destiny
22:56outwith decisions
22:58What did you make of some of the refereeing decisions?
23:00Certainly the sending off for Scott Tanzer
23:02We can't control it
23:04As I say, I'm not going to be nuts
23:06standing on the touchline next week
23:08by criticising people
23:10It's clear for everybody to see
23:12We can only be better at finishing
23:14We can only take our chances better
23:16and take a good performance without the result
23:18and try and build on it for next week
23:20Very diplomatic from Steven Robinson there
23:22about some of the refereeing decisions in the game
23:24I'm sure the guys here will be quite so much the same way
23:26It was another game packed with incident
23:28Let's start with the Motherwell penalty
23:30This one was straightforward
23:32We're both in agreement
23:34It's a penalty
23:36You can't mark like this
23:38Marcus Fraser has got no eyes on the ball
23:40when the ball is whipped in
23:42It's almost basketball-esque
23:44where you're just shadowing a player
23:46It's really tight, wraps the arms around him
23:48and although there's a little bit of protestation
23:50towards the referee
23:52Look at that
23:54You can't be facing that way
23:56It's fairly obvious
23:58and I think a player of his experience
24:00will realise you can't do that in the first place
24:02But Lennon Miller
24:04Another couple of goals for him today
24:06Such a fantastic young talent
24:08Very calm and composed there
24:10sticking that away
24:12I spoke about him a couple of weeks ago
24:14He's just going from strength to strength
24:16He uses that real self-belief
24:18He always seems like he's got lots of time on the ball
24:20That's just because he's that natural
24:22Stands in the right place
24:24Receives it between people
24:26Knows where the game is
24:28Knows where everyone is
24:30He's really good and brave as well
24:32Second goal for Lennon Miller
24:34A sniff of handball
24:36but the referee eventually and VAR disagreed
24:40Lennon says it comes off the top of his arm
24:43which it does first time
24:45I have to say
24:47but I think it comes off his arm again
24:49and I think it ricochets off his arm
24:53but it definitely leads to an advantage
24:55because it drops for him
24:57and listen, let's take nothing away from this
24:59It's a brilliant finish
25:00He gets his knee over the top of the ball
25:02He keeps it down and sends it into the far corner
25:04It's a great little goal
25:06but as we slow it down just there
25:08It comes off the lower arm for me
25:10It does maybe touch his hip as well
25:12but without question
25:14I think that leads to a goal and it should be chopped off
25:16That's what they say isn't it
25:18If the handball leads to a situation where a goal is scored
25:20then the goal would be chopped off
25:22We've all been professionals
25:24We've all done that
25:26and we know it's a handball
25:28We've all done it ourselves
25:30Great finish
25:32Should have been disallowed the goal
25:34Yes I think so
25:36I hate taking goals off people
25:38especially young people
25:40Dan Casey sent off Stuart Kettle
25:42They were trying to protect his player
25:44but come on
25:46This is a red card all day
25:48I think so
25:50We debated it
25:52but I think the more you see it
25:54It's a natural reaction
25:56I know he's kept his arms in close
25:58but you can see that reaction
26:00You can see him doing it
26:02It's hot his hands
26:04and it is a penalty
26:06To be honest I think he's had a wee bit of
26:08short term amnesia there
26:10It's definitely not a hit
26:12It doesn't hit
26:14It doesn't hit his torso
26:16I think that's a really decent save
26:18It's a good save
26:20It's absolutely the right decision
26:22I think there's a resignation there
26:24It's instinct for him as well
26:26O'Hara normally not bad for a penalty spot
26:28Too nice a height
26:30Yeah
26:32I'm not a fan of the old
26:34that delay in two step
26:36That's where he's comfortable
26:38He is not a bad penalty taker
26:40It was never the style I liked
26:42when we were taking penalties
26:44It's a great save
26:46but it can take momentum out of you
26:48That's the way he chooses to do it
26:50Tanzar sent off inexplicably
26:52You can try and explain it
26:54I won't explain it
26:56I just think both yellows are so soft
26:58That one there
27:00I can see why he's given that
27:02because he tries to step across
27:04Steven O'Donnell
27:06There's minimal contact here
27:08He does try to block him
27:10I can accept that just
27:12but the second one I have to say
27:14with half an hour to go
27:16and St Mirren then would have a man advantage
27:18He wins the ball
27:20He can't take his foot away
27:22and just evaporate it
27:24He needs to put it down
27:26Steven O'Donnell is caught there again
27:28He almost tries to take his foot off of Steven
27:30but it's so soft
27:32but the actual factor is
27:34he wins the ball
27:36and that reaction is absolutely right
27:38because I'm amazed
27:40he can show that second yellow
27:42We need to move on
27:44Late goals caused St Johnston
27:46a win away to Ross County last weekend
27:48This evening Celtic went to Perth
27:50having racked up 10 goals
27:52in their last two games
27:54Commentary comes from Stuart Mitchell
27:56St Johnston are yet to win
27:58a home league match in 2024
28:00but they're not tasting victory
28:02in their last 11
28:04This evening they welcome Celtic
28:06who are on a run of 11 straight league wins
28:08It's a massive addition
28:10for St's caretaker Andy Kirk
28:12but any points tonight
28:14will be a boost to his chances
28:16of becoming permanent St Johnston boss
28:18The caretaker makes one change
28:20from the 3-3 draw against Ross County
28:22Graeme Carey replaces Jason Holt
28:24who isn't in the squad
28:26Kimpioka and Sidibe are still suspended
28:28Nicky Clarke struck a double
28:30last weekend
28:32He starts again
28:34Brendan Rodgers switches things about again
28:36after doing so last Sunday
28:38against Falkirk
28:40He replaces 7 for this evening
28:42Johnston scales in Taylor
28:44returning defence
28:46Engels is in for Hitati
28:48and it's a fresh front three
28:50as Kuhn, Hiogo and Maida all start
28:52More scales
29:04Johnston infield
29:06towards Kiogo
29:08St Johnston defenders
29:10were claiming a handball
29:12Kiogo
29:14puts his hand on his head
29:16running in behind
29:18as the Celtic corner is awarded
29:20Kuhn
29:24A little nudge
29:26stumbles, stays on his feet
29:28Thanks for the free kick
29:30again, now Raymond goes down
29:32MacGregor tells
29:34the Saints left back to get up
29:36by the Celtic captain
29:43Kiogo's move
29:45Kiogo's touch
29:47and Sinclair saves
29:49He sees that one wide
29:51He's got a sharp start to the season
29:54He's looking one of Celtic's stars so far
29:56Really want to be hitting the target with that
30:04This is a very dangerous position
30:06for the Celtic free kick
30:08Engels sets
30:11Kuhn
30:13MacGregor screams for it
30:15and strikes
30:17Now Maida!
30:20St Johnston stand and watch
30:23Dyzen Maida reacts
30:25and he fires Celtic into the lead
30:28A fifth goal
30:30this season
30:33Brendan Rodgers delighted
30:35as is Dyzen Maida
30:38There's a VAR check
30:41on whether the goal will stand
30:43Checking for a foul
30:45Boston trusty
30:46Coming along the six yard area
30:49Clash to the head
30:51and a heavy one
30:53Don Robertson
30:55has seen enough
30:57and wipes out the Celtic goal
31:00Just steps out
31:02as trusty makes that run across
31:17Scales with a commanding header
31:19Maida into the path of Kiyogo
31:21and now he's through on goal
31:23It's Kiyogo!
31:26A deadly finish
31:30and this time Celtic do have the lead
31:34and it's in
31:36and it's in
31:38and it's in
31:40and it's in
31:42and it's in
31:44and it's in
31:46and it's in
31:48and it's in
31:50He's onside
31:52and it's in
31:54and it's in
31:56with the quick thinking of Celtic
31:58It's a sharp move
32:00and it's in
32:02The opening now for Celtic in this match
32:04and it's Kiyogo's third
32:06of the season
32:09Support
32:11through Greg Taylor
32:13and Celtic play their way around
32:14The front line
32:17Over the top for Kuhn
32:21Kiyoko, the lay-off, Paolo Bernardo!
32:26A brilliant finish from Paolo Bernardo
32:32It all started from the back
32:35Settled Celtic play and they opened up an acre of space in the midfield
32:41Kuhn picking up, waiting on the options and look at that little touch from Kiyoko
32:49What about the finish from Paolo Bernardo?
32:53And as we take towards halftime Celtic so comfortable as St. Johnston 0, Celtic 2
33:11Kuhn takes it away
33:21Quick pass for Johnston, Kuhn has it again, Ida peels away, the lay-off, the delivery over
33:27and there's another and it's another for Kiyoko
33:35The Celtic party starts again in Perth
33:37It's so calm, it's so controlled, did he get back on side behind Sanders?
33:50There's the lines, Kiyoko is on side
33:57There's Verstappen
34:00It's a wide for Kuhn
34:02He leads it through, Kiyoko spins, Paolo Bernardo lays it off, it's Greg Taylor
34:16Sinclair pushes away, that's another lovely move from Celtic
34:21Unselfish play all round, Taylor with the right foot, look at the flexion of Smith
34:26Kuhn offers another option, Ramos uses, Callum McGregor
34:42Unbelievable, he does it again
34:50Oh so easy for Celtic and Callum McGregor
34:53Ross Sinclair didn't even move, that's another goal for Callum McGregor
35:04And he enjoyed that one
35:15Is there another for Celtic here? Sinclair spreads himself well to deny Nicholas Kuhn
35:23The attacking play from Celtic is just on point
35:31St Johnston's got something on the score sheet here, St Johnston defends it
35:41And again helped on, Johnston heads in the air, Hessel brings it down
35:46That's a strong hand from Kasper Schmeichel, to make sure that his goal isn't breached
35:53St Johnston didn't give it up, Hessel used the space presented, couldn't reach Schmeichel, that is near post
36:03Forrest, Johnston's made the move, it opens up space for Paolo Bernardo, and he looks towards Maida!
36:12Now he has his goal
36:16And there was another sweeping Celtic move, he's onside this time
36:23And Celtic slice through St Johnston once again
36:28He drops the shoulder, McEwan encouraged the shoot, flicked over, the lay-off, unselfish!
36:46What a wonderful team goal, but it won't stand
36:52Adam Ida denied by the offside flag
36:58Well, he looks onside there, goal awarded!
37:08Celtic celebrate the sixth
37:12And maybe a bit more of a muted celebration than it was about to be
37:16But Adam Ida has his fourth goal of the season, and his fourth goal in his last three games
37:24A few minutes left to play, he'll continue to knock the ball about for fun
37:30Here's McEwan, off the post!
37:36Celtic so close to a seventh
37:40They may still get it, Ida is back, McEwan this time, palmed away by Sinclair
37:46And look, McEwan screams in agony
37:48That one looked goal-bound, Sinclair maybe got fingertips to it before it hit the woodwork
37:54Sinclair definitely got the hand to that one
37:58Celtic's incredible start to the season continues, six wins, 20 goals scored, none conceded
38:04Let's start guys with the Keogh goals, scoring two goals, some rare away goals
38:09Hasn't he been scoring a lot away from home?
38:11I just want you to watch his movement, Keogh
38:15I just want you to watch his movement, Keogh, he never stops moving
38:20And that head-headed pass from Koon, all it has to be is beyond the centre-backs
38:26And the little man is just...
38:28It's a clever header, right enough
38:29It's a brilliant header, but he sorts his feet out so well, and it's a clinical finish
38:33Again, there was talk when Brendan Rodgers came in that they overpassed and they were slow going forward
38:39This Celtic side break at incredible speed, and they don't mess about now
38:45They're so efficient going forward, that's a quite brilliant cross from Greg Taylor
38:50Again, it's one of those ones where we're having a wee go at artificial intelligence
38:54That looked slightly offside, the lines are drawing in, we have to trust them
38:58But nonetheless, it's a superb header, isn't it?
39:00That sixth goal is sensational, worked all the way from the back, finished off brilliantly by Bernardo
39:05For me, you would talk a lot about St Johnson, they've got to try and get closer to Celtic here
39:11But in saying that, it's some great football
39:13I think what you see a lot with Brendan's team now is that up, back and through
39:18It's forward runs all the time, midfielders breaking the lines all the time
39:22People running in behind, and they just find you
39:25What a great pass that is, and they're away, they're gone
39:27They're so hard to stop at the minute, everything's clicking
39:32Great pass in, great touch, and by the way, what a finish that is
39:35It's not even a deflection, it's that little wee whippy one with the top of your foot right over the top
39:40Every goal you're watching is that, forward runs with Brendan Rodgers
39:44Up, back, through, keep going through you, and it's so hard to stop
39:47Callum McGregor's enjoying a few goals early on this season, isn't he?
39:50Another fine strike from the edge of the box, Neil
39:52He is, he's just complimented some of the midfielders now
39:58Angles there, you see him taking the short corner kick
40:01He's complimenting them with a different style around them
40:04But he's the constant, he's the leader
40:06He's scoring goals, he wears that armband
40:09He just orchestrates so much, he just sees a little gap there
40:13St. John's will be disappointed, you can't have a goal we're talking about
40:16You can't have too much of a goal and a kick
40:18That is just a sensational Celtic team right now
40:20Two more goals to show you, Maida and Ida finishing off what was a magnificent Celtic performance
40:27And here they are again, and I think they managed to get some players off on the game as well
40:32For the big game coming
40:34And it's the same again, these runs forward
40:36Look at all the runs by Maida, bullet header, great goal
40:39Great little ball from Bernardo
40:41And they're just in, they're in that groove
40:44You know when you're in that groove as a team, it's like a machine
40:47Everything's going, they're playing well
40:50Look at their forward runs again, typical Brendan Rodgers
40:53Up, back, through
40:55Typical, you can see it all the time, penetrating forward passes, forward runs
40:59Yeah, from St. John's point of view, really disappointing that evening
41:03They're close to appointing a new manager, Larne manager Tiernan Lynch
41:06Looks favourite, looks almost set to be announced
41:09What sort of job, Neil, has he got on his hands with this St. John's team?
41:13A tough one, first of all he needs to pick the group up after that tonight
41:16But he just needs to brush that under the carpet
41:18That Celtic side can do that to anyone, let's be honest
41:21But it's about just getting the group together
41:23I think he'll need to go in and put a real stamp on his side
41:25He'll need to go in and put a style of play
41:29But first of all he needs to solidify the group
41:32Make sure that they're compact and together
41:34And try and get some of that confidence going within the boys in the squad
41:37Because the longer it goes without getting results
41:40You start to kind of look across at each other
41:42To see who's going to be the one that gets you going
41:44But just to get in there, make an impact
41:46That's so important, Stevie
41:48A new manager needs to make an immediate impact
41:50How concerned are you with St Johnston so far this season?
41:54It's the goals they're losing
41:56But they need to get results
41:58You don't want to start getting further away from the pack
42:02I think putting a proper structure in to start with
42:05Getting a proper structure in so everybody knows it
42:08You're not trying to be too flamboyant
42:10You're not trying to score too many goals
42:12Get a good structure, everybody knows what they're doing
42:14The good thing is they've got time on the training pitch
42:18They can work a lot with these players
42:20That'll be the key
42:21We can now get some post-match reaction from Perth
42:26My big thing in making this team different
42:28Is the attitude in our counter-pressing
42:31The hunger, and I think that was typified no more than
42:34Deza Mieda in the 86th minute
42:36Getting back in, taking the ball off their striker
42:39So when you have that in your team
42:41Along with the talent and the organisation
42:43Then it gives you a big, big chance
42:45So many, many great moments in the game
42:47But that was a real favourite of mine
42:51Clearly delighted with his team's performance
42:53A big game, as Barry mentioned, mid-week
42:55A slightly more difficult game away to
42:58Brisha Dortmund in the Champions League
43:00But if they put in a performance like that
43:02Anything's possible
43:03It's going to be tough
43:04What a stadium to go and perform in
43:06Is this because you've scored in it?
43:08It is, I was just waiting on you
43:09Thanks for that
43:10Another great assist there, Tom
43:12What I would say is about Brendan Rodgers
43:14I think he feels really good about this group
43:16I think he's been backed
43:17He's brought really, really nice players
43:19To complement, as I said
43:20The ones that are already there
43:23I think they are going to take some stopping domestically
43:25But the good thing is
43:26I think they've got a real chance
43:28Of going through in the Champions League as well
43:30With this new format
43:31It just looked irresistible at the second
43:33Would be great if they could
43:34Have a big run in the Champions League as well
43:36Let's take a wee look at the table
43:39And it makes for nice viewing
43:40For fans of Aberdeen and Celtic
43:42Perfect starts for both
43:44With the champions a hair on goal difference
43:46Mullowell's win has them in a share of third
43:49One ahead of Dundee United
43:51Killie and Hearts remain in the bottom two
43:53Despite picking up a point
43:55Plenty more to come as ever on the BBC
