Sum 41 joins us for a performance and interview in the Helpful Honda Sound Space.
Transcript
00:00All right, all right, all right!
00:02What's going on?
00:04Are you guys ready for historic helpful Honda sound space tonight?
00:11Now, I don't know if you guys have been hearing us talk about this on KROQ, but it truly is
00:16a historic night we're going to have here tonight because these guys, right, it's their
00:20big last hurrah.
00:21We've been with them for 23 years here at the world famous KROQ.
00:27So without further ado, please welcome Sum 41!
00:45Make yourselves at home, gentlemen.
00:49This is incredible.
00:50Very, very cool.
00:51This is just, uh, yeah, give it up, guys.
00:57Un-freaking-believable.
01:00So I thought, before we start, Derek, do you want to make any announcements?
01:03I think I've been getting into trouble with that.
01:07Causing a lot of problems.
01:09What a wacky week, though.
01:10I mean, what was that, we all watched it unfold, of course, and just probably all got a good
01:13laugh out of it.
01:14Well, I didn't really watch it unfold because I don't really go on social media.
01:16Like, I post and walk.
01:18So I didn't really know anything about it, and I started getting text messages.
01:21And people are like, dude, Linkin Park?
01:23And I'm like, what about them?
01:25Good band.
01:27And then it was like Oasis, and I'm like, yeah, maybe one day, maybe.
01:31That would have been cool.
01:33And then it just kept coming in and coming in, and then people started saying, like,
01:36you know, they're doing announcements as well, and it looks like it got turned into something.
01:42Did I miss an email from Mike?
01:44Yeah.
01:45It's crazy.
01:46Well, about, uh, I mean, not even six months ago, these guys released an album that you
01:49may have heard of called Heaven and Hell.
01:52And in those five months, I mean, it's so incredible.
01:55You guys have two K-Rock number one hits, which is just incredible.
01:59Dopamine and Landmines.
02:00Make some noise for that.
02:04And, I mean, just to put it in perspective for everybody here tonight and everybody watching
02:07online, I mean, you guys are now on the station more than the jocks are per hour.
02:11I mean, I am allotted about, like, one minute an hour to say something.
02:15Derek's voice is at least heard three and a half minutes every 60 minutes for the past,
02:19for the past, like, six months on K-Rock.
02:21It is just everywhere.
02:22And for good reason.
02:23You guys love that record.
02:27Um, actually, some of the K-Rock bands wanted me to ask you here tonight if you guys have
02:30any plans to sort of relinquish power rotation here at K-Rock.
02:33Give somebody else a chance?
02:35Probably not.
02:36Why would we do that?
02:38It's, uh, but let's talk, in all seriousness, let's talk about this record, because it is
02:41sort of a concept record of sorts, right?
02:43Heaven and Hell, it's been well documented.
02:45Heaven representing the pop-punk side of what you guys do so well.
02:47And then, of course, Hell, the more heavier side of Sum 41.
02:50And I was really thinking about that when I poured over the record, and I was listening
02:53to it this year when it came out.
02:54And just thinking, as a fan of you guys for 23 years, is that tension that's always been
02:59there?
03:00These two worlds that you guys have sort of so brilliantly and artistically straddled
03:03from the jump, you know what I mean?
03:05I mean, your first lead single, Fat Lip, you're shouting out Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
03:09Is that tension what makes you guys so special?
03:12I don't know if we call it tension.
03:14Yeah.
03:16It's our love for those kinds of...
03:18Yeah, fans.
03:19Yeah, we're fans of that kind of music, and other kinds of music as well.
03:23And I think we just, I don't know, I don't think we ever really talked about it or thought
03:27about it.
03:28We just did stuff.
03:29Even with this record, Heaven and Hell, we didn't say, let's make a double record.
03:33The music was just there, and we all collectively listened to it separately, but came up with
03:38the same idea and started talking about it.
03:40You know, like, what do you think about this?
03:42And I was like, that's the same idea I had.
03:43And so once we all realized we all have the same idea, just from listening to the music
03:47that was there, we realized that's, you know, you gotta listen to the music.
03:51Yeah, totally.
03:52And I thought, you can correct me if I have this story wrong, Derek, but Landmines has
03:57one of the coolest backstories of a K-rock hit that I can think of in recent memory,
04:01where you are also, in addition to being the lead singer of 741, a very in-demand songwriter
04:06in this town, and somebody came to you and wanted you to write some pop-punk songs, and
04:11you actually wrote Landmines initially for someone else.
04:14A few people, it was right at the beginning of the pandemic, the whole lockdown thing,
04:17and I got a few calls and emails from artists and managers and labels asking if I could
04:22work remotely with some other people.
04:25And I just thought, and at first they were saying, you know, we're kind of looking for
04:28stuff that's leaning pop-punk.
04:29And I thought, man, I haven't written a pop-punk song in 16 years.
04:32I don't even know if I could do it.
04:34So I thought, well, why don't I sit down and try to write some songs, see if I can, if
04:37I still know how to do that.
04:38And I wrote about six or seven.
04:39Landmines was one of the first ones.
04:41And once I had all those songs, I was like, I kind of like all these.
04:45And I didn't give anything to anybody.
04:47You cannot give those songs away.
04:52So that's how that happened.
04:54It was like an unintentional, all of a sudden there was like seven or eight pop-punk songs.
04:58And they all made the record, you know, because like I said, I didn't give them to anybody.
05:02Totally.
05:03And I have to imagine, I've even heard you guys talk about this in other interviews,
05:06how this year almost reminds you of 2001, just because your daily itineraries are just
05:10out the wazoo.
05:11You're going to this radio station, this concert, this tour, right?
05:13And if you did bring this tonight, I wanted to show you guys this.
05:17This is a program a KROQ listener brought tonight.
05:20Who brought this?
05:21This is a KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2001 pamphlet over here.
05:25Oh, wow.
05:26A very humble man with a Dodgers hat on.
05:28This is incredible.
05:30And you guys played this concert.
05:33And just when you think back to that time period for us longtime fans, what do you remember
05:37just about the whirlwind that just took over summer of 2001 into, of course, Acoustic Christmas?
05:42Just nonstop.
05:43Yeah.
05:44Always moving.
05:45Yeah, it was nonstop.
05:46I think the funniest thing that I think back to is that it doesn't feel like it was that
05:49long ago.
05:50Like it really just feels like a couple of years ago.
05:53But yeah, it was a lot of work and it was a lot of fun and just like everything was
05:56happening so fast.
05:57It's kind of, the only difference now with everything happening so fast and so much going
06:01on is that we're old enough to recognize it and take it in.
06:04Because back then, you're just like on to the next thing, on to the next thing.
06:07And you kind of forget.
06:08You don't take those moments in.
06:10And sober enough too.
06:11And we were very sober.
06:13Good point.
06:14That always helps.
06:15Yeah.
06:16I think we played 300.
06:17Yeah.
06:18It's incredible.
06:19And you talk about sort of being able to appreciate it now.
06:20I'm curious in terms of the timeline of this album because you announced Heaven and Hell
06:23in Earnest about like two and a half years ago.
06:25And then about, I think even a year, more than a year I should say after that, you announced
06:29this is the big last hurrah.
06:30You guys will be disbanding.
06:32Did something about this record inform that decision or was this always the plan?
06:35No, it was never the plan.
06:36Nothing was ever thought of with this whole record.
06:38Like I said, the songs were by accident.
06:40The idea was just a thing that the music spoke to us.
06:44And then I think once the record was finished and it was mixed and recorded and that whole
06:48thing was done is when that hit me, I felt like this to me was the record that we've
06:53always been trying to make.
06:56This encapsulates everything that we've always wanted to do.
06:59That's the sound of Sum 41 from the beginning to now.
07:01It just kind of made too much sense for this to be the final one.
07:06Yeah.
07:07We were talking about 2001 just now and there's actually the second to last song on Heaven
07:12and Hell dates back.
07:13It's called It's All Me.
07:14Dates back all the way to 2003, which blew my mind that a song can just survive that
07:19long and still make its way out to the world.
07:21It was never completed.
07:23It was started for the Chuck album and it just never got finished.
07:28And there's a few riffs and stuff like that that have been kicking around.
07:33But that's how songs always...
07:34There's always leftover stuff from every record that just didn't get finished.
07:38And either it gets finished for the next one or it just still gets pushed down the line
07:41and that's kind of what happens all the time.
07:43When you talk about things not getting finished, I'm just so curious and open up to the entire
07:47band, of course.
07:48This being the last hurrah, this long, beautiful goodbye you've been giving us for...
07:52I mean, over a year now.
07:54Is there anything left unfinished for you guys creatively, artistically, thematically
07:59as Sum 41?
08:01As Sum 41?
08:03I don't know.
08:05We've done a lot.
08:08I mean, to go back to the question about...
08:11There still are some songs.
08:13I know there's a couple half-written songs from Does This Look Infected that I've still
08:17never finished.
08:18And they'll probably never get finished.
08:21They're just...
08:22I've gone back to them and I'm like, man, I really like that riff, but why can't I get
08:27a good chorus for it?
08:28And it just sits there.
08:29Yeah, totally.
08:30And when looking ahead, of course, Derek, you've got your book coming out.
08:34October 8th.
08:35Yep.
08:36Pre-order available now.
08:39Walking Disaster, right?
08:40Also a Sum 41 song.
08:41You have so many songs, of course, in the catalog.
08:43Why did you go with that title?
08:47I don't know.
08:48I think it's just...
08:49I mean, it encapsulates...
08:50So the title is Walking Disaster, My Journey Through Heaven and Hell.
08:53And I think that whole thing explains it all.
08:56That's really...
08:57I think we can all admit at some points in our lives we're walking disasters.
09:02There's just moments in our life that we're totally on point and then sometimes we're
09:06a disaster.
09:07And it's the heaven and hell of the whole journey.
09:10Totally.
09:11And one final question before I get out of your way and we rock this place tonight at
09:14K-Rock.
09:16You guys heading into these final shows, especially the hometown shows in Toronto, of course, the
09:20real final shows, which I think we're sending a K-Rock listener up there.
09:24Are they here tonight?
09:26Are they here?
09:27Is that actually you?
09:30Oh, he just volunteered.
09:31It's you?
09:32Yeah.
09:33You got your passport figured out?
09:34All right, good.
09:35I wanted to check.
09:37This ought to be just special shows, but I'm curious, is there...
09:40And it doesn't have to be a band.
09:41Maybe it's an actor or maybe it's something in art that you've admired their way they've
09:46said goodbye.
09:47That you thought, wow, when my time comes, when I write my final chapter as Sum 41...
09:52Oh, dude.
09:53Denzel and training day.
10:04That would rule.
10:05It was so quick, too.
10:07You thought about that.
10:08Oh, yeah.
10:09He's been sitting up there for a while.
10:12That is great.
10:13Anybody come to mind other than Denzel?
10:15I think that's the one.
10:16That's the one?
10:17I think we walk on that one.
10:19You're in for a hell of a show in Toronto, sir.
10:23And tonight.
10:25And right now.
10:27Tonight's gonna suck.
10:31Give it up for Sum 41.
10:32We're gonna give them a few minutes to get acquainted and rearrange, and thank you guys
10:36so much.
10:37Guys, make some noise for the band.
10:45Can you get even louder?
10:49Louder!
10:53Calm down, calm down.
10:55Welcome to a brand new edition of the Hellblown Soundspace.
10:57I'm Kevin Kenney from the world famous K-Rock and this is Sum 41!
11:09Thank you so much.
11:33First.
11:35Let's see how rowdy we can get this shit tonight, right?
11:38You guys with us?
11:40Let's fuckin' do it.
11:41Zoom out!
11:47Ready?
11:48Let's go!
12:00What's the difference?
12:01I'm never knowing at all
12:02And every step I take is always too small
12:05Maybe it's just something that I can't admit
12:08Lately, I feel like I don't give a shit
12:11Motivation's such an aggravation
12:14Accusations, don't know where to take them
12:17Inspirations, getting out of thinking
12:20Concentration, never really breaking
12:22Situation, never what you want it to be
12:31What?
12:37What's the point of never making mistakes?
12:40Self-indulgence, such a hard habit to break
12:43It's all just a waste of time at the end
12:46Don't care, so why should I even pretend?
12:49Motivation's such an aggravation
12:51Accusations, don't know where to take them
12:54Inspirations, getting out of thinking
12:57Concentration, never really breaking
13:00Situation, never what you want it to be
13:03Nothing's new, can't stop driving me down
13:08Falling further behind, no matter what you say
13:13Nothing's gonna change in my day
13:16Come on!
13:25I can't admit
13:27I doubt I've seen the end
13:30Cause it seems like fever breaks and fever fissures
13:33And though I can't pretend to break the fever's light
13:35It's hard to see, but who's to blame
13:37For all the fucking shit I never said
13:41Ladies and gentlemen, hands up!
13:45Yeah!
13:50Motivation's such an aggravation
13:53Accusations, don't know where to take them
13:56Inspirations, getting out of thinking
13:59Concentration, everybody up!
14:02Motivation's such an aggravation
14:04Accusations, don't know where to take them
14:07Inspirations, getting out of thinking
14:10Concentration, situation
14:13Never what you want it to be
14:18Never what you want it to be
14:24Never what you want it to be
14:31Ladies and gentlemen, Dave!
14:39Tom!
14:43That's right, let's do some fucking metal shit!
15:14That's right, that's right, motherfuckers!
15:18Let's get fucking crazy!
15:26Here we go!
15:33Right!
15:35Right!
15:41Everybody's got their problems
15:44And everybody says the same thing to you
15:47It's just a matter of you solving them
15:49And knowing how to treat the things you've been through
15:52Cause I feel I've come to realize
15:55How fast life can be compromised
15:58Step back to see what's going on
16:01I can't believe there's nothing to do
16:08There's nothing to do
16:15It's just a problem that we're faced with
16:17And I'm not the only one who hates to stand by
16:20Complications at a first in this life
16:23With all these features running through my mind
16:26Knowing endless consequences
16:28Cause I feel so useless in this
16:31Well get back, step back, I just believe
16:34I can't sing it!
16:36Part of me won't be great
16:38Cause I don't know if it's for sure
16:41Suddenly, suddenly
16:43I don't feel so insane
16:46Part of me won't be great
16:49Cause I don't know if it's for sure
16:52Suddenly, suddenly
16:54I don't feel so insane
16:57I can't take it anymore
17:00Let's go!
17:21Ladies and gentlemen, this is A Proud Sound
17:28Everybody's got their problems
17:31Everybody says the same thing to you
17:34It's just a matter of how you solve them
17:37What else are we supposed to do?
17:43You right there
17:45Yes you, you crazy motherfucker
17:47Let's get this going
17:50Ready? Ready? Let's do it!
17:54Part of me won't be great
17:56Cause I don't know if it's for sure
17:59Suddenly, suddenly
18:01I don't feel so insane
18:04Part of me won't be great
18:07Cause I don't know if it's for sure
18:10Suddenly, suddenly
18:12I don't feel so insane
18:15I can't take it anymore
18:21Anymore
18:26This is A Proud Sound
18:36Ladies and gentlemen, Guitar Solo
18:46What do you think's the matter the most?
18:50Never end up in what we chose
18:53Now that I find out it's so bad
18:56I don't think I'd do it again
18:59What do you think's the matter the most?
19:02Never end up in what we chose
19:05Now that I find out it's so bad
19:08I don't think I knew what I had
19:15Thank you, thank you, thank you
19:20Thank you
19:51This is A Proud Sound
19:58Here we go!
20:09Listen to you
20:11You've played the victim for so long now in this game
20:14What I thought was true
20:16Has been a fiction and I'm following the same
20:19But if I try to make sense of this mess I'm in
20:22I'm not sure where I should begin
20:25I'm falling, I'm falling
20:27Let's sing it!
20:30Over my head
20:31There's nothing I said
20:32I'm feeling this way
20:33I'm better off dead
20:35Now I can see
20:36I think it could be
20:37Hypocrisy
20:39Making it too good to me
20:45Is that if I can turn back and
20:47Why look to me
20:48Cause I don't believe in fate
20:50I guess you never heard
20:52I'm not a beggar
20:53So I don't even know your name
20:55But if I had to say goodbye to leave this hell
20:59I'd save my time and send me well
21:01I'm falling, I'm falling
21:04Let me hear it!
21:06Over my head
21:07There's nothing I said
21:08I'm feeling this way
21:10I'm better off dead
21:11Now I can see
21:12I think it could be
21:14Hypocrisy
21:15Making it too good to me
21:17This came wrong before
21:19Don't deserve no more
21:22How to awake for this
21:24To be a nightmare
21:27What's with my disgrace?
21:29I lost a human race
21:32Now I pledge my rage
21:34To blow up in their face
21:48Who said it was easy
21:50To put back all these pieces?
21:53Who said it was so easy
21:55To wipe out all these pieces?
21:59Over my head
22:00There's nothing I said
22:01I'm feeling this way
22:02I'm better off dead
22:04Now I can see
22:05I think it could be
22:06Hypocrisy
22:08Making it too good to me
22:09Over my head
22:12Interrupted
22:14Over my head
22:17Interrupted
22:19Away
22:31Right!
22:39Oh thank you, thank you, thank you
22:41Now this is fucking fun ladies and gentlemen
22:45Now as we were talking about earlier
22:47Back in the old days when we were younger
22:4920 something years ago
22:5123 years ago we said our first record came out
22:54I remember, I remember being in Los Angeles
22:57We were just, just out of high school
22:59Just made our first record
23:01And our first single, the first time we ever heard it
23:04Was on K-Rock in L.A.
23:07We were just getting into a van to go do something
23:10I remember it was early in the morning
23:12Coming out of a hotel
23:14And the thrill that we fucking had
23:16Hearing our fucking song Fat Lip on K-Rock
23:18Holy fucking shit it's happening
23:23And then cut to 23 years later
23:26Driving around Los Angeles
23:28Listening to K-Rock
23:30And a new song comes on the fucking radio
23:33And you know what we thought?
23:35The same fucking thing
23:37Holy fucking shit we're on K-Rock right now
23:39God damn it
23:42It's the same fucking feeling
23:44This song is called Landmines
23:46Ready?
23:48And I don't wanna believe
23:50That maybe this is the end
23:52I know you're kind of a tease
23:54But is this really pretend?
23:56Something tells me you're wrong
23:58But you I never can tell
24:00The way you drag me along
24:02The way I put you through
24:04Tell me am I insane?
24:06Is this where we belong?
24:08Is it pleasure or pain?
24:10There's got me hanging on
24:14I can't help but walk through your landmines
24:17Two feet and I'm going out of my mind
24:20Not right without you I've done so wrong
24:25Can't help but walk through your landmines
24:28I'm bleeding and all I need is a sign
24:31I'm out here and I've been waiting so long
24:36Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
24:40You've got me singing
24:42Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
24:48And maybe I'm out of luck
24:49Or maybe all of it's bad
24:51I'm not sure why we broke up
24:52It was the best that I'd had
24:53They say it's all for the best
24:55I think the fate is a lie
24:56No my hair is a mess
24:58And you're a little bit high
24:59Should I give it a chance?
25:01Is it ever enough?
25:02No more blood on our hands
25:03No more fucking enough
25:04Going out of my head
25:06All the tears that I've bled
25:07And what you said
25:08There's got me hanging on
25:13I can't help but walk through your landmines
25:16Ten feet and I'm going out of my mind
25:19Not right without you I've done so wrong
25:24I can't help but walk through your landmines
25:27I'm bleeding and all I need is a sign
25:30I'm out here with nothing
25:31But it's so wrong
25:35Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
25:39You've got me hanging on
25:41Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
25:45You've got me hanging on
25:52And all I need to know
25:53Is should I stay or is it time for me to go?
25:58I don't wanna waste another minute
26:01No, the story's getting old
26:03All I wanna know is whether I should stay or is it time for me to
26:09I can't help but walk through your landmines
26:11Ten feet and I'm going out of my mind
26:14I'm not right without you I've done so wrong
26:20I can't help but walk through your landmines
26:22I'm bleeding and all I need is a sign
26:25I'm out here with nothing
26:27But it's so wrong
26:30Hands up!
26:31Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
26:35You've got me singing
26:36Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
26:41Louder!
26:42Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
26:46This side!
26:48Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
26:52You've got me hanging on
27:11I brought this guitar from home, ladies and gentlemen
27:13This is my guitar from All Killer No Filler
27:15That tour
27:17And I retired it all the way back then
27:19But I thought, you know what?
27:20Just a couple days ago
27:21I said, I'm gonna bring it for you motherfuckers here tonight
27:24God damn, it sounds good
27:26All right, I'm gonna shut the fuck up
27:28Let's play more music, right?
27:32This song's called Dopamine
27:40You said you did it for the dopamine
27:42You didn't mean to leave me so fucked up
27:46You did it for the dopamine
27:48And could it be that I'm just not enough?
27:52It's so hard to accept that you're gone
27:56And that's it, you did it for the dopamine
28:01And it didn't mean anything at all
28:08Days and nights I'm losing my mind
28:10Caught up thinking of ways I could turn back the time
28:13Time is not on my side and I don't know what to say
28:16Feeling empty inside now that you've gone away
28:19I can picture you in someone else's place
28:22And he's got his hands running down your face
28:25Is it in my head?
28:26Cause I just can't let my demons go
28:29You just did it for the dopamine
28:31You didn't mean to leave me so fucked up
28:35You did it for the dopamine
28:37And could it be that I'm just not enough?
28:41It's so hard to accept that you're gone
28:45And that's it, you did it for the dopamine
28:50And it didn't mean anything at all
28:53I keep throwing away, I don't know who to blame
28:56Leave it all in a day and just put out the flame
28:59Time and time again, you don't believe in the past
29:02It was such a good time but nothing good can last
29:05I can feel it now and it hurts like hell
29:07Can you live without me? Only time will tell
29:10Is it in my head?
29:12Cause I just can't let my demons go
29:14You just did it for the dopamine
29:16You didn't mean to leave me so fucked up
29:20You did it for the dopamine
29:22And could it be that I'm just not enough?
29:26It's so hard to accept that you're gone
29:30And that's it, you did it for the dopamine
29:35And it didn't mean anything at all
29:39Yeah, yeah, didn't mean anything at all
29:44Yeah, yeah, didn't mean anything at all
29:50At all, at all, at all, at all
30:00Pick it up
30:03Ready?
30:05You just did it for the dopamine
30:07You didn't mean to leave me so fucked up
30:11You did it for the dopamine
30:13And could it be that I'm just not enough?
30:17It's so hard to accept that you're gone
30:21And that's it, you did it for the dopamine
30:26And it didn't mean anything at all
30:30Yeah, yeah, didn't mean anything at all
30:35At all, yeah, yeah, didn't mean anything at all
31:06This next song is a jumping song, ready?
31:19The faster we're falling
31:21We're stopping and stalling
31:23We're running in circles again
31:26Just as things were looking up
31:29You said it wasn't good enough
31:31But still we're trying one more time
31:35Cause maybe we're just trying too hard
31:38When really it's closer than it is too far
31:42Everybody sing!
31:43You did it for the dopamine
31:45You didn't mean to leave me so fucked up
31:48In my head, instead of going under
31:52Cause I'm in too deep and I'm trying to keep
31:56Up above in my head, instead of going under
32:00Instead of going under
32:05Yeah, yeah, yeah, didn't mean anything at all
32:10Seems like each time I'm with you I lose my mind
32:14Because I'm bending over backwards to the left
32:18It's worth it to complain
32:20But when you're driving me insane
32:22Well then I think it's time that we took a break
32:26Cause maybe we're just trying too hard
32:30When really it's closer than it is too far
32:34Everybody up!
32:35Cause I'm in too deep and I'm trying to keep
32:39Up above in my head, instead of going under
32:43Cause I'm in too deep and I'm trying to keep
32:47Up above in my head, instead of going under
32:52Instead of going under
32:56Instead of going under
33:01Guitar solo!
33:12I can't sit back and wonder why
33:16It took so long for this to die
33:20I hate it when you fake it
33:24You can't hide it, you might as well embrace it
33:28Believe me, it's not easy
33:32Cause this is what I've been through
33:36I'm in too deep and I'm trying to keep
33:39Up above in my head, instead of going under
33:44Cause I'm in too deep and I'm trying to keep
33:47Up above in my head, instead of going under
33:52Instead of going under
33:56Instead of going under again
34:00Instead of going under
34:02Instead of going under again
34:06Instead of going under again
34:10Guitar solo!
34:26Let's do it!
34:50Alright, now I got the...
34:52Now I have the Evo guitar
34:56Let's play some heavy shit
35:02So am I, still waiting
35:04For this world to stop hating
35:07Can't find a good reason
35:09Can't find hope to believe in
35:23Drop dead, a bullet to my head
35:25You point it like a gun in hand
35:28You can't change the state of the nation
35:30We just need to hold our heads up
35:33These eyes see no conviction
35:35Just lies, my contradiction
35:38So tell me, what would you say?
35:40Sing it!
35:44So am I, still waiting
35:47For this world to stop hating
35:49Can't find a good reason
35:51Can't find hope to believe in
35:59Here it is, another standing
36:01I'm not the first one to be lied
36:04I don't stand for what we believe in
36:06But who's left to stop the bleeding?
36:09How far will we take this?
36:11It's not hard to see through the fakeness
36:14So tell me, what would you say?
36:16Sing it!
36:20So am I, still waiting
36:23For this world to stop hating
36:25Can't find a good reason
36:28Can't find hope to believe in
36:30This can't last forever
36:35Time won't make it better
36:40I feel so alone
36:43Can't help myself
36:46I don't wanna know
36:48That this is what's left to me
36:51Ladies and gentlemen, let me see it
36:54Everybody jump!
37:06What have we done
37:08To so far that it can't be right?
37:10This can't be real
37:13Cause I don't know what to feel
37:17So am I, still waiting
37:19For this world to stop hating
37:22Can't find a good reason
37:24Can't find hope to believe
37:27So am I, still waiting
37:29For this world to stop hating
37:32Can't find a good reason
37:34Can't find hope to believe
37:44Yeah!
37:57Holy shit, goddammit.
37:59So is anyone coming to the show in October?
38:02You gonna be there?

38:51Everybody jump!
39:00Rock!
39:02Strollin' through the party
39:04When I'm hangin' out, drinkin' in the back of an El Camino
39:08No one knew me by name
39:12Cause I know I'm not the one you thought you knew back in high school
39:15Never going, never showing up when we had to
39:17Attentionary creep, don't tell us who to hate
39:19I sing, I'm always here, and I sing it
39:24Coming out of casualty in society
39:26I've never fallen
39:28Coming out the victim
39:30Of the formidable doubt
39:38Rock!
39:40Speak!
39:42You!
39:46But what would you expect with a dick so small?
39:49Head ballin'?
39:51Well, praise the priest
39:53Cause we like having fun and I don't think we're expensive
39:56Gotta be a baddest, that's a minor offense
39:58And I'm not concerned, I guess I'll never learn
40:01I'll stick my pants all the way, sing it!
40:03But the one thing is fun at times
40:05Coming out of casualty in society
40:07I've never fallen
40:09Coming out the victim
40:11Of the conformity I'm back to
40:17Rock!
40:20Ladies and gentlemen, sing!
40:23Don't count on me
40:26I'll let you know it
40:28Don't count on me
40:31Louder!
40:33Don't count on me
40:36Don't count on me
40:38Don't count on me
40:40What?
40:41Cause I'm not that great
40:43Low credit, low bid, I'm high as crap
40:45I don't give a damn
40:47If you're standing on the court, I can go
40:49But you don't make shit of all the gas
40:51Here we pump it
40:53Or you'll be ringing up the clock
40:55Want it?
40:57I drink in proportion
40:59Doctor said my mom should've had an abortion
41:02Abortion, abortion, abortion
41:06Let's do it!
41:08I don't wanna waste my time
41:10Coming out of casualty in society
41:13I've never fallen
41:15Coming out the victim
41:17Of the conformity I'm back to
41:19Waste my time
41:21Coming out of casualty in society
41:23I've wasted my time
41:25Coming out the victim
41:27Of the conformity I'm back to
