00:00Previously on The Block.
00:02So, what's the go at the moment with everything?
00:05I have no idea.
00:06House 1's plasterers were taken by Christian.
00:09Coming in on the first day and then having your trades taken was not ideal.
00:15We were sharing the plasterers, but we had one guy left,
00:18because the other three were at Christian's house.
00:20No, no, they were Jesse and Paige's.
00:22They don't belong to the house, they belong to the contestants.
00:25Then Christian lost those plasterers.
00:28It went from sharing to hopefully they come to us to them now leaving.
00:33This week's plaster story isn't any better.
00:37Um, some bad news.
00:38Yep.
00:39Plaster delivery has just been cancelled.
00:41The biggest gyprock delivery of the season hasn't arrived on time.
00:44Just let your builders know, everyone can go home.
00:46OK.
00:48Sorry.
00:49We needed our gyprock this morning.
00:52And tonight, for some, the plaster pressure is too much.
00:57Are you crying?
01:01But he's confirmed one thing and then he's gone back on his word.
01:04Don't start, please.
01:06Oh, I'm done with this s**t.
01:09How did they do that to us?
01:12Don't do that.
01:14With the very real risk of no-one delivering a room this week,
01:18I'm throwing them a painting lifeline.
01:22And later...
01:23Hurray, CJ!
01:24Our blockheads turn into revheads.
01:31I'm dead.
01:32Total car.
01:33Yeah, and myself.
01:43Living and dining week is huge on the block
01:46as it's the biggest internal space each house will deliver in this competition.
01:52Obviously, we've got another big day.
01:54Plaster coming first up.
01:56We'll work out once the truck arrives where we're offloading.
02:00What time do you reckon this plaster's gonna get in?
02:03Um...
02:04Like, today. It's coming today.
02:05Well, I was told first thing.
02:07Sounds like Dan's plan's getting canned.
02:09Yesterday, Dan rallied all contestants together
02:12to deliver his plan for the delayed arrival of this week's plaster.
02:16That was caused by a truck breakdown.
02:18So, it's obviously about the CSR plaster delivery.
02:21They've worked hard and around the clock
02:24to get two trucks coming this afternoon, this evening.
02:28We're gonna have to band together and unload by hand, everyone.
02:32And while the Dan plan sounded good,
02:34the plaster still failed to arrive last night,
02:37so everything will need to run like clockwork today.
02:41Wednesday's the big day of plastering their ceilings
02:44and also floorboards going down.
02:46Well, the floor guys are here and the floorboards are here,
02:48so that's awesome.
02:49We've got a heap of plasterers here, but we've got no product.
02:52If the plaster doesn't get here till, say, even midday,
02:55it's game over for the week.
02:56We've got a public holiday tomorrow.
02:58They just won't finish.
02:59Did the boys want anything to do?
03:01Nah, I've got six blokes here and 80 bucks an hour, mate.
03:04Not fun, but at the end of the day, we need plaster on site,
03:07especially Brad and Kylie at House 4.
03:10They've got the biggest area on the block.
03:12They need to be plastering yesterday.
03:15Did you ask the girls for sheets?
03:18There's 15 sheets in that garage doing absolutely bugger all.
03:21They don't need to be used.
03:22What size are they?
03:23Look, I've been telling everyone.
03:25They're all bent.
03:26They're no better than what we've got now.
03:29Not only does Brad have the biggest space to build this week,
03:32coming in at 75 square metres,
03:34he's also just received a very big quote from his stonemasons.
03:39Yeah, so we've just received a quote
03:42around the fireplace and under the TV.
03:44As part of their living and dining space this week,
03:46House 4 are hoping to encase their fireplace column,
03:49hearth and shelf with Dekton stone.
03:52But the price of the stonemason install
03:55could eat up the majority of the budget.
03:57It's the same Dekton that we've used in the bathrooms
04:00and it's come back at 12 grand,
04:01which is a lot more than we thought it was going to be,
04:04so we're just trying to work out if there's something we can afford.
04:07I really hope we get the best feedback on our fireplace,
04:13because I'm pretty sure we're the only ones
04:15that have no idea what we're doing.
04:16I am absolutely packing it that I have...
04:19Picked the wrong one.
04:20So if they don't love our fireplace this week...
04:24I'm in trouble.
04:25I'm going to be pissed.
04:26Look, it does look pretty epic, but I'll still be pissed.
04:30Over at House 2,
04:31Courtney and Grant are also trying to lock in the specs
04:34for their fireplace.
04:35The lounge is over on L shape.
04:36You've got the dining table there.
04:38I reckon fireplace on this wall.
04:39The fireplace for this area, I think, will be very important.
04:42Phillip Island, as nice as it is in summer,
04:45it is also very cold in winter.
04:47This week, House 2's living room will consist of their mirrored TV,
04:51sound bar, open shelving, wood stack and fireplace
04:55inset into their signature curve wall design
04:58that will be finished in Venetian plaster.
05:02Basically, we started with a modern Mediterranean style
05:05and if we don't showcase it in the biggest room in the house,
05:08then everything we've done up until this point is a waste.
05:11So how do you do that?
05:13You get Courtney on Pinterest and you get her working away
05:17while I try and figure out how to build a fireplace.
05:20Over in House 5, Christian is having a stressful morning.
05:24I just can't find a f***ing plasterer.
05:26Not only has his plaster not arrived, but he has no plasterer.
05:31Yeah, getting Gibrok this week delivered
05:33is probably one of the most important things
05:35because everyone has such big areas.
05:38So while Christian tries to hatch his master plaster plan,
05:42Mimi is off for a McCafe catch-up.
05:44Hello.
05:45Hi, do you need coffee?
05:47Yes, please.
05:48OK, bye.
05:50So, patiently waiting, I was at McCafe and then I said to Ricky,
05:55do you have any other challenges tomorrow?
05:57Tomorrow?
05:58No, it might be today.
06:00Today?
06:01Might want to be tomorrow. Isn't everything closed?
06:04On a public holiday.
06:05He was like, I'm pretty sure the challenge is today.
06:08I was like, how do you know that?
06:10And then I started investigating.
06:15Christian, I have intel!
06:17Ricky was talking about the dawn service and, like, you know, the footy.
06:20And he's going to go watch that tomorrow.
06:23And I was like, how are you going to do that?
06:25We're going to have the challenge tomorrow.
06:27He was like, what makes you think the challenge is on Thursday?
06:31The challenge is probably today.
06:33So I feel like he's got an inkling of when it's going to be.
06:36If it's today, it's going to really stuff us.
06:38I thought today was going to be challenge day.
06:41I need to go tell my friends.
06:45The challenge is probably today.
06:47Why would it be tomorrow?
06:48How are we supposed to do any shopping?
06:50Exactly.
06:51Here's the boss.
06:52She has to pick up her fireplace.
06:53I know.
06:54But they can't do that with all the delays from yesterday.
06:59Why is it today?
07:00I'm not sure.
07:01I just got here.
07:07Is Sarah here?
07:08I don't know.
07:09I think she's going to the challenge now.
07:10Oh, wait.
07:11Did you hear what she just said?
07:13She just said, I think she's going to the challenge now.
07:15Yeah.
07:16We don't know that there's a challenge tomorrow.
07:17Ah!
07:22Whoops.
07:23Guess the secret's out.
07:29Ah!
07:31There was a whole array of beautiful race suits.
07:35It's officially race day.
07:36Suit up and head to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.
07:40Enter via gate 7.
07:41Be there by 10am sharp.
07:43Scotty!
07:44Scotty!
07:47This week's challenge has actually been two weeks in the making.
07:50Well, I've been thinking, gang.
07:52What is Phillip Island famous for?
07:54Penguins, of course.
07:55The block.
07:56Well, soon.
07:57And, of course, the GP race track.
07:59I thought to myself,
08:00there's no way I could do a series of the block on Phillip Island
08:03and not give the contestants an opportunity
08:08to race a car around the world-famous track.
08:12These are professional race car simulators.
08:17And the good folk at SimWorks
08:18have loaded up the Phillip Island race track onto them.
08:21Every corner, every bump, every ripple,
08:24you will feel as if you're on the track.
08:27I'm going to give you two weeks to practise on this,
08:29because you'll want a podium finish.
08:31Not for the glory.
08:32Our good friends at HomePro,
08:34our favourite blind and curtain company,
08:37are putting up a grand total of $10,000 prize money.
08:43I can confidently say we won't be winning that.
08:45You're a terrible driver and so am I.
08:55I didn't do too bad, I just can't drive manually.
09:00You can just use the paddles, it's so easy.
09:02What does that mean?
09:05Have you noticed anyone spending time on it?
09:07Brad. Brad's a gamer. Brad.
09:13So Brad, of course, has been on it, I swear, 24-7.
09:19Well, so far, it's both Brad and Hayden
09:22who have spent the most time on the simulator.
09:30And since these two can't get enough,
09:33I've arranged for a special visit to the Phillip Island racetrack
09:36to have Bathurst 1000 race driver, Jesse Bryant,
09:39show the boys his McLaren.
09:42These boys are racing in two weeks' time.
09:44All right, what are we racing?
09:45Who knows?
09:46We went down and got to see the team at Method Motorsports
09:50and took us through the pits,
09:52and it was quite the experience, that was for sure.
09:54On this side, we've got RaceLogic,
09:56which films it all and puts the data through all the computer systems
10:00so our team can read it on the computer.
10:02That was a surreal experience.
10:04I've been around motorsport all my life.
10:06On our steering wheel, everything's controlled
10:08off our steering wheel in the car.
10:10You can change the page on the dash,
10:11look at tyre pressures and lap times and everything.
10:13While you're doing 250 kilometres an hour.
10:15Yeah, yeah.
10:16If you want to learn to race, whatever,
10:17these are a perfect starter car.
10:19They just make it so simple.
10:20Yep.
10:21You make it sound so simple.
10:23I don't know about that.
10:28We're racing today!
10:32It's got our names on it!
10:33Well, I love driving competitively.
10:37Have you driven competitively before?
10:41Yes, on the real roads.
10:44How good is that?!
10:47That is so cute!
10:50Oh my God, do we get to keep these?
10:52Nice day.
10:53Mimi.
10:54You know what, she's the messenger.
10:55She's always the messenger.
10:57Mine might look as hot as yours does.
11:00Cute.
11:03Racing time.
11:07That's the plan.
11:08Well, we predicted a challenge.
11:09We knew there was going to be a challenge.
11:11Could winning a challenge, though,
11:12help you with this week's budget?
11:14Budget's still in the red, so it's not great.
11:17Much prefer to see green.
11:19The only thing that's sort of kept us close to the green
11:22is the fact that we've won a few challenges.
11:24So, when we can't win a room like we did last week,
11:28like we were close with second,
11:29all we can hope is that the challenge comes up this week
11:31and hopefully get a win there,
11:32and then hopefully we can win living and dining.
11:35To try and take top spot this week,
11:37their room will consist of a large couch,
11:39offset armchair, 85-inch LG TV,
11:43and opposed to all the others,
11:45they are the only ones with a freestanding fireplace.
11:49If we win this week, it'll be massive.
11:52That's probably the best fireplace that I've seen.
11:54Yeah, really excited about this thing.
11:55This thing is, like, the absolute ducks nuts of fireplaces.
12:04Over in House 1, having spent Monday away with Eliza and Liberty
12:08at the Winners and Grinners dinner,
12:10and with a public holiday looming,
12:12Maddie is feeling the room-planning pressure.
12:16I would not be upset about this
12:17if we could leave the island tomorrow,
12:19if that public holiday wasn't tomorrow,
12:22if I could order all these things,
12:23but people are like, you have to have things ordered.
12:26Like, I really needed it ordered yesterday,
12:28but I need to make decisions right now.
12:32It's OK. It'll be fine.
12:35And if it's...
12:37If we have no rug, then whoops.
12:42So far this week, the girls have made decisions
12:45on the position of their fireplace and statement artwork,
12:48and have also chosen their couch and armchair.
12:51However, they still need to make decisions on their TV,
12:54curtains and their lounge area floor rug.
12:58Hey.
12:59We've got a frigging challenge.
13:04I can't do that.
13:06I'm not going. No-one else goes, so...
13:11Why would they do that to us?
13:16I actually don't know how we're going to finish this,
13:19because, like, I can't leave the island tomorrow.
13:23And so I really need to...
13:25If there's anything that I need, it's like, today's the last chance,
13:28but then I guess that can't happen anymore.
13:31We thought the challenge was going to be tomorrow,
13:33because Thursday just makes so much more sense.
13:35And it's a public holiday, so why not...
13:37Public holiday, I thought, perfect.
13:39We can't use, like, power tools.
13:41I'm like, surely producers would have thought of that.
13:44But no, the block's never that easy.
13:48I got the suits, it even has our names on it.
13:50That's a bit cute.
13:51That's what brightened my day.
13:53But going to a challenge, not so much.
13:57I was prepared for tomorrow.
14:00Now there's only one person left to tell.
14:03I did tell you last.
14:05Last.
14:08Look!
14:09Oh, what's that for? Is that to practise?
14:11No, we have a challenge.
14:13Tomorrow?
14:14Today!
14:16I'll read it out to you!
14:19It'll be fun, but why today?
14:21Why, what needs to be done?
14:23Oh, I don't know, just the biggest room in our house.
14:25I said at the start of the week,
14:27I think whoever wins this week is whoever finishes.
14:29Because everyone has large spaces.
14:33We have the smallest, and it's big.
14:37House 5's living room will be located upstairs on their first floor.
14:41The space will consist of dual artworks,
14:43large angled couch facing their TV,
14:46and two fluted feature walls.
14:48But like every other house,
14:50no more work can proceed without their CSR gyprock delivery.
14:56Finally, the plaster has arrived.
14:59Ah, I see it!
15:02It's enough gyprock to cover a footy field.
15:05Gyprock's here!
15:07And this is only the first truck.
15:09The second isn't far behind.
15:11Mate, it's here.
15:14Gyprock, gyprock, come get your gyprock!
15:20I normally hate that noise, but it's music to my ears.
15:32She's yelling out gyprock's here.
15:34Let's go, let's get it going!
15:38This is not only a huge task for all contestants,
15:40it's a huge task for everyone.
15:42Suppliers, trades, everyone.
15:45And CSR, they've got it here, they've delivered, which is great.
16:02Phillip Island is the perfect place for holidaymakers
16:05who want to kick back and relax.
16:07But this morning, it's a change of pace.
16:11This could be our last message.
16:13If you don't survive, it was nice knowing you.
16:15Because for today's challenge,
16:17we're heading to the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit
16:20to turn our blockheads into revheads.
16:27Slow down!
16:29Brad has always been a revhead.
16:32If we all race together, he'll be trying to take people out.
16:35I'm actually slightly concerned.
16:37Time to cue the epic slow-mo music.
16:44Look, they seem excited and happy, Shell.
16:46They do.
16:48It's nice to see the boys wearing pants for a change.
16:53I think they're pretty keen to do a bit of driving.
16:56Not Kylie, though. Look at her.
16:59You look so good!
17:01This is great!
17:03Now, before we get going into this challenge, gang,
17:06I have a bit of a special announcement to make.
17:09I know it's been a tough 48 hours on the block.
17:12There's been a few delivery dramas, and it's been a tough time.
17:16But we don't want it to be any harder than it has to be.
17:19We are not here to ruin you, we are here to make you.
17:24Now, we're in our 20th season,
17:26and we're going to do something that we've never, ever done before.
17:35I've put out a call to High Pages.
17:37They've come to the party.
17:39They are going to supply each team with a professional painter
17:42for two days to help you get across the line.
17:45Yes!
17:47Wow.
17:49That's a good thing.
17:52That is huge.
17:54And look, while we're here,
17:56I figure I should cover the cost of the plasterers
18:00that were standing around yesterday.
18:03So that's on us.
18:05That's awesome. It's a big help,
18:07cos this week's budget was not looking too friendly.
18:09Thanks, Scotty.
18:11Are you happy with that?
18:13A lot of stress off the shoulders.
18:15Got a professional painter for two days.
18:17We're all in this together, and we want you to get across the line, OK?
18:20That is probably the most handy thing
18:22that we've ever come across.
18:24We're standing here on the iconic Phillip Island Circuit,
18:27home to some incredible racing series,
18:30including the Motorcycle GP,
18:32the Superbike Championship,
18:34and Shell, the very first Australian Grand Prix,
18:37was right here.
18:39It is a track synonymous with speed.
18:43So I'm glad to hear you've all been putting in stacks of time
18:47on the Simworks Sims back at the block.
18:49That's going to help you greatly today.
18:51Are you ready to go?
18:53Yes!
18:55Don't honestly think I was going to let you drive a V8 Supercar on this track, did ya?
18:59No.
19:01Of course not!
19:03You're going across the road there to the go-kart track.
19:05We knew some would be excited and some would be disappointed.
19:09We've made our way down to Phillip Island Racetrack,
19:12only to be led astray that we're not actually going on the track,
19:16we're going on the go-karts, which is pretty obvious, I guess,
19:19especially after seeing some of the girls driving.
19:23It's an identical replica of this track,
19:26but it's just a little bit smaller.
19:28Love it.
19:29And safer.
19:30And safer, thank you very, very much.
19:32There's no way Scotty was going to trust us in real V8s, I don't think.
19:35So, whichever team gets the two fastest combined times will win $5,000.
19:41Second fastest will get $3,000.
19:43Third fastest, $2,000.
19:45Again, all thanks to our great mates at HomePro by DIY Flies.
19:50OK, you're ready to go?
19:51Jump in your cars, head over to the go-kart track.
19:54Let's go.
19:55Let's do it.
19:57I'm so pumped.
19:58I love driving.
20:00Especially when there's no rules.
20:02Oh, look at them.
20:04Elements of all.
20:05OK, who's excited, who's relieved, who's upset?
20:08Relieved.
20:09Excited.
20:10A bit of both.
20:11Very keen.
20:12Excited.
20:14May I introduce to you V8 supercar driver, Chelsea Angelo.
20:19Chelsea, now you have done thousands of laps around this circuit.
20:22You know every bump, every corner.
20:24Have you got any last minute tips to keep these guys alive?
20:27Oh, look, I think because we've had a little bit of drizzle with the rain,
20:30you definitely want to be careful when you're coming into turn one.
20:32So, it's a little bit slippery.
20:33You can probably be about two or three go-karts wide.
20:35So, don't think you can all be a hero and go around the corner.
20:38So, try and get in that single file line.
20:40Keep your eyes up and away you go.
20:42You've got ten minutes to record your fastest time.
20:46The three teams with the fastest combined times
20:50will be sharing in $10,000 worth of cash
20:53and, of course, the glory of a podium finish.
20:56Chelsea, that's it.
20:57All right, get in your vehicles.
20:58Let's get ready to go.
21:00We were really excited that it was go-karting
21:02because we thought it would be a bit more even playing field
21:04because it was go-karting.
21:05Do we have a chance against the guys?
21:07Oh, my God, of course you do.
21:09Fastest lap in ten minutes gets recorded.
21:12Combined score wins.
21:15Got it?
21:17Are you ready?
21:19All right, we're ready, Chelsea.
21:20Are we ready?
21:21When the flag drops.
21:32Ready?
21:33Oh, my God.
21:34We're away.
21:40It's a me, Mario.
21:44Hayden.
21:45Christian, Mimi.
21:47And then that's four.
21:49Mimi's coming through.
21:50Yes, yes.
21:52Well done.
21:53Well, Mimi has a lead foot,
21:55so we knew she would probably be quite fast and quite reckless.
21:59Go, go, go!
22:03There were a few bumps.
22:04We bumped into each other.
22:06I know, literally on the first lap.
22:09Oh, another one.
22:13Who do you think is your biggest competition?
22:15Oh, it's definitely Brad in the white class.
22:20Hayden.
22:21Brad.
22:25Hayden!
22:31I just assumed that the boys would be good
22:33because those boys are a little bit more pro-risk,
22:36and I just knew that they'd fly around those corners
22:38and they would probably not care about knocking out anyone from their way.
22:46In the real world, I think I'm a pretty good driver.
22:50When the rain hit, it made it a lot more difficult.
22:57What happens on the track when it rains?
22:59The track will start to get greasy.
23:01You know, because it's a slick tyre, there's no grooves in them,
23:03so it's not a wet tyre.
23:05You're going to have less grip,
23:06which means karts are going to start to slide out.
23:10Sorry!
23:27Onto the ground!
23:30We're coming up to the last lap.
23:33Go, Carly, go, Carly!
23:36I did as badly as I thought I would
23:38and just be my little nana driver,
23:39just, you know, slow and steady.
23:43So where are you thinking you guys are going to land as a combined score?
23:46Brad will be first.
23:49Mine will be probably the last,
23:51so we'll be somewhere in the middle.
23:57Chelsea is waving the chequered flag.
23:59Chelsea's got the flag.
24:02Is that it?
24:05Let's go!
24:08This was the most fun I've had all season.
24:11Do you love me?
24:25It's been full throttle today on the Phillip Island go-kart circuit,
24:29as our blockheads have been fanging it around
24:31every corner of this iconic racetrack.
24:34Because each team's combined fastest lap time
24:37will determine today's challenge winner.
24:40Well, what a fantastic afternoon.
24:42You all did outstandingly well,
24:44especially when we put the fake rain on the track as well.
24:47That worked out really well.
24:49But it came very slippery, didn't it?
24:51There were some hairy moments.
24:52I did notice there was a lot of spin-arounds at Turn 4.
24:55I think we were all laughing behind our backs about it,
24:57but you guys got going again, so it turned out well.
25:00OK, it's time to announce the winners.
25:02We've got $5,000 for 1st place today,
25:04$3,000 for 2nd place and $2,000 for 3rd place.
25:07And 4th and 5th are ****ing nothing.
25:10Coming in 3rd place with a combined time of 2 minutes and 23 seconds
25:16is House 4.
25:23And you get $2,000 and a trophy.
25:26There you go.
25:29Nice finish.
25:31I did not think we would place at all
25:33because of little Miss Nana over here.
25:35But I guess technically we balanced each other out
25:38and came in with 3rd.
25:402nd place with a combined time of 2 minutes and 21 seconds
25:46was House 5.
25:48Congratulations.
25:50$3,000 coming your way.
25:52There you go. Thank you. Get ready for your photo.
25:54And $3,000 from Home Pro.
25:57Mimi and I came 2nd.
25:59To be honest, I just said that I wanted to be on the podium
26:02and win some cash.
26:04And coming in 1st place and taking home this giant oversized trophy
26:09and $5,000 from Home Pro
26:12with a combined time of 2 minutes and 19 seconds
26:16So close.
26:17is House 3.
26:24Up you get there, boys.
26:26Congratulations.
26:28Thank you, mate.
26:29There you go. There's the trophy.
26:31Michelle's got something for you.
26:33Gentlemen, thank you.
26:35Do what you will.
26:37When I look back in history, Ricky and Hayden will be synonymous
26:40with Valentino Rossi, Troy Bayless.
26:44Who else?
26:45Everyone.
26:46All the best.
26:47All the greats.
26:48I can only think of us right now.
26:51No!
26:53Oh, God.
26:55All right, I'm out of here.
26:57Run, run.
26:58We're out of here.
27:03Yeah, we were pretty jacked.
27:05To get up on the podium.
27:06Stand on the podium.
27:07Get the trophy.
27:08In front of our sponsors.
27:09Hold the trophy up.
27:10Who did you dedicate the win to?
27:12Obviously, you dedicate the win to your team.
27:15And done.
27:16Yeah, and done.
27:18Well done.
27:20Well done, mate.
27:21Well done.
27:23Who did it?
27:24We both did.
27:26Well, that can go on your new five-place man book.
27:28Yeah, 100%.
27:30That's exactly where it'll go.
27:31Well done, guys.
27:32Yeah, we're not getting gifts for the challenges,
27:34but we're pretty good at them.
27:36Have we won the most challenges?
27:38In a season?
27:39In a season.
27:40I'm not sure.
27:41Can someone check that?
27:42You're not.
27:43That would be Carl and Cara from season eight.
27:45Right-o.
27:46Gotcha.
27:47But if we can be mentioned in the same sentence as them,
27:51that'd be an honor.
27:52Yeah.
27:53Whew.
27:545K.
27:55Hey, guys, you're definitely getting paid.
27:58Now you can all come in on the public holiday tomorrow.
28:01Yeah.
28:02Woo-hoo.
28:03Yeah.
28:07Over at house one, they've still got the pedal to the metal
28:10and are racing to get their plaster installed.
28:12Our room is looking great.
28:14Plastering boys are smashing it,
28:16but the goal was to try and smash it out as fast as possible
28:19instead of stretching it over three days.
28:21Just so, obviously, with the public holiday happening tomorrow,
28:24it makes it a little bit more stressful
28:26and there's shorter hours as well tomorrow.
28:30With house one in plastering pole position,
28:32it's Christian and Mimi who have come skidding to a halt.
28:35Number two.
28:37Cracking.
28:39Oh, we really need plasters, brother.
28:41So finding a plaster has been our biggest issue on the block.
28:44Biggest problem.
28:45You can change and put your shoes on and we'll sort it out.
28:48Yeah, he just came back and, you know, still don't have plasters.
28:53Don't know what to do.
28:54It'd just be nice if we had, like, a team, a plastering team.
28:57Like, it's all well and good that we get a painter for two days,
29:00but if we don't have walls up, can't really use them.
29:03Dan's been on the phone to every single plasterer
29:06that's ever worked with him.
29:07We need plasterers ASAP tomorrow.
29:10We've rang people in Melbourne.
29:12Would you be free to come tomorrow?
29:14Come and save us.
29:17Yeah, yeah. Would you be free to come or not?
29:25Oh, OK. Yeah, yeah. No, that's fine. I totally understand.
29:28We had a crew that said they were coming two, three days ago
29:32and they just haven't responded to any messages,
29:34answered any phone calls.
29:36That's a big time.
29:39Mm.
29:47It looks as though Matty and Charlotte in House 1
29:49have a tonne of plasterers in today and might be able to help.
29:53That is, if Christian is game enough to ask.
29:56When they first got here,
29:57there was the whole sharing plasterer debacle.
30:00Ah, yes, the debacle caused by guess who?
30:05At the start of the block, previous House 1 contestants,
30:08Jessie and Paige, and House 5's Christian and Mimi,
30:11were sharing plasterers.
30:13But with Jessie and Paige leaving the block
30:15and Matty and Charlotte arriving,
30:17Christian may have forgotten the definition of the word share.
30:23Morning, brother.
30:24Hey, I'm just touching base about House 1.
30:27As far as I'm concerned, I would say make us as a priority.
30:31Yep.
30:32All right, mate. Thanks for that.
30:34My understanding was that we were sharing the plasterers.
30:37So are you House 5 or are you House here?
30:39I was both.
30:40Wait, I'm so confused.
30:41They don't belong to the house, they belong to the contestants.
30:44OK, so they were Jessie and Paige's.
30:47Jessie and Paige are no longer here.
30:49Coming in on the first day and then having your trades taken
30:53was not ideal.
30:55Um, so, yeah, it might be a little bit awkward.
30:59Ah!
31:04Like we didn't know what else there was to do.
31:07Ah!
31:19With a CSR chiprock now on site,
31:21Christian and House 5 desperately needs plasterers
31:25to finish the biggest room in their house.
31:27Or they simply won't deliver a room this week.
31:34A few weeks ago,
31:35he commandeered House 1's plastering team right out from under them.
31:40But this afternoon,
31:41Maddie and Charlotte might be the only ones who can help him.
31:45That was the hardest part as well,
31:47to have to ask them for help after that whole thing.
31:50It was just, you know, it was hard.
31:52Um, do you know roughly how long your plasterer is going to be?
31:56How long your plasterer is going to be with you for?
31:58Um, I think till tomorrow, yeah.
32:02Do you know how many plasterers?
32:04We've got no plasterers.
32:05None?
32:06Zero.
32:07Yeah, I was going to say even if you could spare a couple today,
32:09but obviously if you just want to smash it all out.
32:11Just so we can start hanging the ceiling, yeah.
32:14But it's up to you.
32:15That was a little bit funny,
32:16considering we had a bit of a debacle
32:18with sharing plasterers last time.
32:20It was their house that took the plasterers that we had, so...
32:23And they finished and we didn't.
32:25So...
32:26OK.
32:27Just have a chat, see how he's going.
32:29Even if it's just for the last two hours.
32:31Yeah, yeah.
32:33Yeah.
32:34OK, let you know.
32:37Like, it's Wednesday and they haven't got sheets on the wall.
32:39Yeah.
32:40And tomorrow's a public holiday and they're stressing out.
32:43Yeah, they just need some extra help.
32:44How many boys do you think could help tomorrow?
32:46They can get whatever.
32:47If we could help them, we would.
32:50And in this case, we could help them.
32:52There was boys available, we didn't need them all.
32:54You can say something.
32:55Yeah, I think Mick said fine.
32:56OK, we'll go and tell them so that they can have a plan.
32:59Yeah, yeah, yeah.
33:00Relationships for us are far more important
33:02than a competition, to be honest.
33:04No, they stuffed us up with the plasterers last time.
33:07Yeah, but we'll be the bigger people.
33:09Yeah.
33:10Christian, where are you?
33:13Christian's not here.
33:14Nah.
33:15Oh, he just...
33:16Cos he just came and asked us if we might be able to see
33:19if our plasterers can help out.
33:21And I think we're going to be able to get
33:23maybe three or four guys for you tomorrow.
33:25Really?
33:26Yeah.
33:27Well, they just need to confirm with the other guys,
33:28but I think they'll be fine.
33:29Really?
33:30They're inducted.
33:31They should be inducted.
33:32And they're pretty fast.
33:33I really appreciate that they can, you know,
33:36put the competition aside and be like,
33:38no, we just need everyone to finish.
33:41So welcome.
33:43Oh, I get a hug from Mimi!
33:45Wow, touch Mimi!
33:47Don't push it!
33:49Just very grateful after Maddie and Charlotte
33:52gave us the plasterers for tomorrow.
33:54Cos they didn't have to do that.
33:55They could have said, you know, if they don't get plastered,
33:58that's one less team we have to compete against.
34:00Yeah.
34:01Very grateful.
34:03Are you sure?
34:04About the plasterers?
34:05Yeah.
34:06Yeah, it's fine.
34:07Oh, you're a love saver.
34:08You'll be sweet.
34:09They'll be able to help you out.
34:10Thank you so much.
34:11All good.
34:13I know sometimes it's hard to offer help like that,
34:14but that's how it is.
34:15You always help.
34:17You just feel like you...
34:23Are you crying?
34:29It's stressful.
34:38What's wrong?
34:39It's f***ing hot.
34:53Over at House 2, Courtney and Grant are flush with plasterers,
34:57having pulled the High Pages lever this week.
35:00We want our plasterers to finish off sheeting everything.
35:03It's a massive job.
35:04And the help that Scotty's giving us with the painter...
35:08Through High Pages.
35:09Through High Pages is massive.
35:11It's going to hopefully mean not an all-nighter on Saturday night.
35:14It's more going to mean that we're going to finish a room.
35:16Woo!
35:19With painters and plasterers everywhere,
35:21Ricky and House 3 is focused on this week's secret weapon.
35:25So this is your oblique here.
35:27So you've got the primed and the painted.
35:30Look at that.
35:31There we go.
35:32Straight in.
35:33See all your nails.
35:34Yeah.
35:35Fairly straightforward to put on.
35:36Yeah.
35:37Straight onto your battens.
35:40All right, let's have a look at that, see how she goes.
35:42One of our differences this week from what we're hoping
35:45from everyone else is we're actually taking our outside cladding,
35:48which is a James Hardy oblique, and then we're taking it on the inside.
35:51And we're taking it all the way up our rake and ceiling,
35:54but all the way around into our hallway as well.
35:57Got that big board there.
35:58Yep.
35:59Got another big board there.
36:00That's it.
36:01And you've got a small board here.
36:02Yeah.
36:03How's this all going to work?
36:04So what's the pattern here, mate?
36:05So you should be able to see where we're up to on that pattern.
36:07Small, small, big, small.
36:09Yep.
36:10Big, big, small, big, small, small.
36:11That's correct.
36:12Can you say that fast for me?
36:14Small, small, big.
36:15Small, big, big.
36:16Small, big, small, small.
36:18Small, small, big, small.
36:19Big, big, small, big, small, small.
36:23Jeez, it's got a bit of a beat to it, doesn't it?
36:25Small, small, big, small.
36:27Big, big, small, big, small, small.
36:29Small, small, big, small.
36:30Big, big, small, big, small, small.
36:35What are you doing?
36:37Celebrations, man.
36:39H is out tonight.
36:42So I'm alone.
36:45And, you know, despite being alone and H being with the wife,
36:49I'm still going to be celebrating because it's a great occasion.
36:54You know, it's not every night that you get to celebrate
36:57being Trackstar Challenge champions, you know, so...
37:07I'm just not sure how waterproof this trophy is.
37:10I'm starting to find out pretty quickly that it's leaking.
37:16It's been a big day today.
37:18Obviously, being crowned kings of the island,
37:21I thought it only right to take the trophy to bed.
37:25Goodnight.
37:28Goodnight, trophy.
37:30Really couldn't take my hands off it.
37:41TROPHY WHISTLE BLOWS
37:47TROMBONE PLAYS
38:10TROMBONE PLAYS
38:20Lest we forget.
38:21So I have Craig from Mitre 10 here this morning
38:24to play the bugle on the block.
38:27It'll do the last post.
38:29Yeah, it was an honour.
38:37Have you got base coat on?
38:39Ah, no.
38:40I've still needed a couple of frames fixed off
38:42around the fireplace and that, so...
38:44Everyone's in such a different position this week.
38:46The house owner got a heater on.
38:49So they're done.
38:50They must be, otherwise Christian wouldn't have their plaster on.
38:55While the boys may have dominated yesterday's go-kart challenge,
38:58today it's the girls who are in the lead
39:01and are the first to have all their plaster up.
39:03Trying to dry our setting faster
39:06because the sanders are coming in two hours
39:08and it's still a little bit wet around the corners.
39:11We were feeling very confident.
39:13We were well ahead of everyone else.
39:15One thing that has kept these two house-flipping accountants
39:18ahead of the other houses
39:20has been their ability to manage their money tightly.
39:22You've got the Combank app? Yes.
39:24So you have access to Money Plan,
39:26which is the go-to place in the app for all the money tools.
39:30They showed us the Money Plan. It was really cool, actually.
39:32And a feature of the app that allows you to, like, schedule upcoming bills.
39:36Not that you'll need to know.
39:38Nah, I just didn't know that. I'm still in green.
39:40Yep, it's Maddie who loves the numbers
39:43and it's Charlotte who might love something else.
39:46Righto, Charlotte, let's talk about Jack.
39:49Is there romance? What's the deal?
39:51Oh, my gosh. We are all absolutely desperate to know.
39:53Let me make this so clear.
39:55There is zero romance between me and Jack.
39:58I know you all want the gosh. You can squish that one.
40:01You want the gosh? I can squish it,
40:03but it's just that there's chemistry and we're all noticing it.
40:05Well, there is nothing.
40:23No Daily Mail articles.
40:25We're not each other's type
40:27and nothing has ever happened between us romantically.
40:30Do you want to? No.
40:33No, absolutely not.
40:35But I just need to make it clear on national TV.
40:37No, it's important to address these things head-on
40:39and I really feel very much like you've addressed that now.
40:41OK. And we can let it go.
40:43Bang, head-on.
40:48Next door in house two,
40:49Kurt and Grant have been trying to lock in their specs for the fireplace.
40:53Let's do the fireplace under the TV.
40:56But that's probably going to be too hard
40:58because then how high is that TV going to fit?
41:00There was just so many considerations we had to make
41:03to put a solid fuel fireplace in our living room.
41:07We had to consider, obviously,
41:08clearances from combustible walls and materials,
41:11but then what would be considered a non-combustible material.
41:15That product is called Hebel
41:17and it comes in both block and sheet form.
41:20The first step is to place the Hebel sheets inside the framework,
41:24then stack the blocks between the sheets and the fireplace.
41:28Then they'll need to clad the outside in James Hardy Skyon sheets,
41:32ready to have their Venetian plaster applied.
41:36Grant. Yo.
41:39I was just having a look at this, how we went.
41:42Mate, that's perfect.
41:43Base, Hebel blocks, villa board, great.
41:46Awesome.
41:47I've just noticed we haven't got it around the sides and back.
41:50Yeah, so I spoke to Simmo about this yesterday.
41:52He signed it off.
41:54Yesterday, Grant thought that he ordered Hebel sheets and blocks,
41:58but only the Hebel blocks arrived.
42:00So Grant decided to check
42:02if they could use an alternate product as sheeting.
42:05Skyon, everyone's using Skyon.
42:06You can use Skyon.
42:07Can we use Skyon?
42:08Yeah, Skyon is non-combustible.
42:09All right.
42:10But Grant failed to tell Simmo
42:12he wanted to use Skyon to line the inside of the fireplace.
42:15Aidan was speaking to the building surveyor
42:18and he said we can't pass it without the Hebel blocks.
42:20Now the Skyon has to come off.
42:22Yeah.
42:23Let's take them off and just put the Hebel blocks around it.
42:27I think I reacted pretty well.
42:29In my head, I was thinking something different.
42:31All right, if we...
42:32OK.
42:33If we need Hebel, I'd like to get in tomorrow.
42:36We can't use Skyon anymore.
42:38We have to use the Hebel.
42:39Yeah.
42:40Which, um, that's fine.
42:42I mean, it wasn't initially.
42:44I got really angry.
42:45He flew off the handle.
42:47For no reason, I tell him.
42:49Well, you do it all the time.
42:51I get to have one time doing that.
42:54So why can't we use Skyon?
42:56Why can't we use Skyon?
42:57It's all right.
42:58It's different.
42:59Apparently it's a different fireplace.
43:01I was pissed off.
43:02No, let's just use Skyon.
43:03Who the f*** cares?
43:04Court.
43:05What are they going to do?
43:06Rip it out?
43:07Court.
43:08Don't start.
43:09Please.
43:10Not today.
43:11F***ing joke.
43:12I just didn't have enough patience this morning, to be honest.
43:14But he's confirmed one thing and then he's gone back on his word.
43:17Come on.
43:18For f***'s sake.
43:19Look at the f*** around.
43:20This fireplace is going to mean a lot to this space,
43:22so I just don't want to not be able to do it.
43:24I'm f***ing done with this s***.
43:34Today in House 2, Courtney and Grant have been told
43:36that all the work they'd put in to prepare their fireplace
43:39must now be redone with the correct product.
43:42But Courtney isn't having a bar of it.
43:45But he's confirmed one thing and then he's gone back on his word.
43:48It is what it is.
43:49It is what it is.
43:50No, let's just use Skyon.
43:51F*** his.
43:52Court.
43:53What are they going to do?
43:54Rip it out?
43:55Court.
43:58You fly off the handle.
44:00And look at the way we're going to be painted.
44:03I fly off the handle?
44:04Be calm.
44:05Be cool.
44:06Are you serious?
44:07Yeah.
44:08It was being very condescending.
44:11Don't start this s***.
44:13Are you going to apologise to everyone?
44:15I just don't understand why you're always so riled up and angry.
44:18You know what, you actually make me an angrier person.
44:20Oh, so you're going to blame you flying off the handle on me.
44:22What's next?
44:23Because if I had a calm partner, I'd be more calm.
44:26You're the one that reacted.
44:28Yeah, because you made me react.
44:29No, I didn't.
44:30Yeah, you did.
44:31No, I didn't.
44:32We'll be arguing one minute and then the next minute
44:34we're just best friends again.
44:36It's all part of the business.
44:40Well, at least with the arrival of the correct table,
44:42the fireplace is now all sorted.
44:46Won't you sing me a sweet lullaby?
44:48Over in House 5, Christian and Mimi are making great time
44:51now that they finally have some plasters,
44:54helped by the fact that they aren't putting in a fireplace
44:57in their living room.
45:00Phillip Island gets cold.
45:02We have our Hitachi heating system.
45:05It's a six kilowatt system, so it will keep that room nice and toasty.
45:09A fireplace would be more for aesthetics.
45:11No, we don't need a fireplace.
45:14Well, there's also one other essential thing.
45:17You need to keep your house warm in the winter.
45:21Time to talk about insulation.
45:24Phillip Island is synonymous with sun, surf and sand.
45:28But to ensure your family stays cosy on the cold nights
45:31in your holiday home,
45:32here's Bob and Dan with a word from our sponsors.
45:38So we've got five different types of insulation
45:40on the block this series.
45:41Now we've got the underfloor bats, which are R2.5.
45:46Then we've got the acoustic bats, which is over here in the walls.
45:48Therefore, all the internal walls
45:50stops the sound travelling from room to room.
45:54And then we've got the R7 bat.
45:56Now we use that on its own when we've got a big cavity in the ceiling.
46:00But when we come to the living and dining room,
46:02where the roof has less cavity,
46:04we add the PIR board with that.
46:07Now Bradford CSR, they've been with us for 20 series.
46:10They're also 90 years old, and this is an amazing system.
46:14It's going to help your home perform.
46:16It gives us a seven-star energy rating.
46:18How good is that?
46:19Thanks, Dan.
46:22And it looks like all of House 5's insulation
46:25has now been covered in chiprock
46:27thanks to Maddie and Charlotte's plastering team lending a hand.
46:30Now it's up to Mimi to furnish the room
46:33using the $100,000 worth of Cambridge furniture
46:37they won in their first week.
46:39So I've just got my Cambridge renders.
46:42So I'm going to have a look to see the choices I made
46:45and how it looks in the space.
46:47It's really cool to see all of the furniture
46:50inside these rooms that we haven't even done yet
46:53because it helps with planning.
46:56So this is the lounge that I got.
46:59Do you like this? These chairs?
47:02Oh, beautiful.
47:04And that's the table we're getting to.
47:06Wow, that's so good.
47:09So, so far, everything that I've chosen is 75 grand.
47:12Yeah, beautiful.
47:13So I have another 25 grand to spend.
47:16Or trade.
47:17Or trade.
47:18$100,000 Cambridge voucher?
47:21How do you top that prize?
47:23Well, if you ask the boys, they'd float a different answer.
47:29Did you get the Tim Tams?
47:31Straight to the Bar Crusher, mate.
47:33Yeah, I got the Tim Tams.
47:34With so many beautiful spots to take the boat for a day of fishing,
47:38it's no wonder that its original name was Snapper Island.
47:42Getting offside. Getting on the Bar Crusher.
47:45I'm almost ready to get one in the water, mate.
47:47What do you reckon?
47:48I've got a nice fresh one here.
47:50I haven't given this one a whirl yet.
47:52Hope the fish are biting today, mate.
47:53It's a quick time off the block.
47:54There's a very short weather window.
47:56I reckon just send it out there.
47:58It's getting a bit rough out here.
47:59It's starting to get a bit rocky.
48:00Yeah, that's just fishing for you, you know.
48:03But like I say, bad day fishing beats a good day on the block.
48:07Alright, here we go.
48:17Wind's picking up.
48:18Jeez.
48:19It's getting real rough.
48:20That's alright, mate. The Bar Crusher can handle these conditions.
48:27Yeah!
48:30Come on, mate.
48:33Ah!
48:34Mimi actually picks up a tool.
48:39Oh, God.
48:41But it's the boys who get dropped.
48:43Today we got the phone call from our landscaper.
48:46If you can't get the labour, you can't get the labour.
48:48They're going to pull out.
48:49All the best with it, mate.
48:51Sucks that it pulled the pin when the landscaper's three weeks away.
48:55And on Sunday night...
48:56Tools down!
49:00Oh, my God.
49:02I'll deliver some of the most impressive living and dining spaces we've ever built.
49:07These rooms, these spaces are epic.
49:10This is a football oval.
49:12Look at this.
49:13Yeah.
49:14Wow.
49:17This is incredible.
49:20I don't really want to leave.
49:22I just want to say it's epping perfect.
