00:00The move back honestly had nothing to do with what my future might look like with the Giants,
00:05which I think for us makes it all the more special because it truly was a move back because
00:09we enjoy this area and we enjoy the friends that we've made in this area.
00:13I think just over the last few weeks, months, we've been kind of talking through some different
00:18scenarios and where we landed.
00:20Now back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:24Boy, did Posey shut Willard's theory down.
00:28That was the game within a game this morning.
00:33I got served.
00:35No, what happened, that's not you getting served.
00:38What happened was, you threw up, it was like skeet shooting and you know, Buster said pull
00:47and then you set up your question and Buster said, and he picked it out of the sky.
00:53But at least your skeet, skeet, skeet, skeet, was in the air for a little bit.
00:58It was a good question.
00:59And he answered it the way he answered it.
01:01I think Stiney was kidding.
01:03Can we not present it this way?
01:04There was absolutely nothing wrong with that.
01:06Wow.
01:07What are we talking about?
01:08There's a story before the story.
01:10Okay, hold on a minute.
01:11You got yours coming too at some point.
01:13Bring it.
01:14You won't.
01:15I'm listening to Willard last night, yesterday, and I heard him say, ah, you know what?
01:20I'm back.
01:22We should have saw this coming when he moved out here.
01:25I did say that.
01:26I did say that.
01:27And then, you know, he, that was a setup for today's question.
01:29Exactly.
01:30And then, and, and by the way, just cause he said it doesn't mean it's true.
01:34Calling him a liar?
01:36Well, no.
01:37I'm saying that he is now a big, big face at a big, big press conference and he'll tell
01:42us what he wants to tell us.
01:44Similar to if we had said, Hey, uh, is Bryce Eldredge starting at first base next April?
01:52What do you think he's going to say?
01:54That's more of a question for Bob.
01:56Baseball minor league player of the year.
01:57Yeah.
01:58Like I mean, what Mark is calling him right now is bluster posy.
02:02Yeah.
02:03That's a one.
02:04That's a one.
02:05That's a one.
02:06That's a one.
02:07That's a one.
02:08I thought it was great.
02:09I built up to it.
02:10The guys were talking about the buzz in the room and I said buzz turposy and you gave
02:13me a one.
02:15I thought that's better than bluster posy.
02:17But will it up down on you?
02:18It's bluster posy.
02:19You're down on me.
02:20What'd I do?
02:21You took a shot at us at Chase yesterday.
02:22Before that.
02:23No, but it wasn't at you.
02:24It was at the situation.
02:25Dude, when I drove out to loud like I had a good day, shout out to Ice Cube, did not
02:31thought about.
02:32Hey, breaking news.
02:33Four homes fired.
02:34What better way than Sonny and Guru is checking.
02:38I didn't like it, dude.
02:39I was making fun of the situation.
02:40And that's what I'm talking about.
02:41That you ended up in.
02:42You're right.
02:43I'm like, this is what happens in life.
02:44I said he was making fun of.
02:45We're here for hoop.
02:46This is what happens in life.
02:47Three weeks ago, you sat down and someone went, hey, like, you know, Warriors Media
02:48Day.
02:49And all of us are like, dude, who doesn't want to be at that?
02:50And then you arrive.
02:51Farhad's been fired.
02:52The Niners have won a football game for the first time in three weeks.
02:53Right.
02:54And you're sitting there with body heels going like.
02:55I told you, Stoddy.
02:56He was making fun of the moment.
02:57The moment.
02:58And you never know.
02:59It's not your fault.
03:00I wasn't making fun of the moment.
03:01I wasn't making fun of the moment.
03:02I wasn't making fun of the moment.
03:03I wasn't making fun of the moment.
03:04And you never know.
03:05It's not your fault.
03:06I want to take you guys back to, might have been 2014, could have been 2013.
03:07And our old boss, Jason Barrett, remember he had that contest where he asked listeners
03:08to book a guest for us.
03:09And whoever had the best guest, whatever listener.
03:10I was on the weekend.
03:11You might have been a night.
03:12You might have been a night.
03:13You might have been a night.
03:14You might have been a night.
03:15You might have been a night.
03:16You might have been a night.
03:17You might have been a night.
03:18You might have been a night.
03:19You might have been a night.
03:20You might have been a night.
03:21You might have been a night.
03:22You might have been a night.
03:23You might have been a night.
03:24You might have been a night.
03:25You might have been a night.
03:26You might have been a night.
03:27You might have been a night.
03:28You might have been a night.
03:29You might have been a night.
03:30You might have been a night.
03:31You might have been a night.
03:32You might have been a night.
03:33You might have been a night.
03:34You might have been a night.
03:35You might have been a night.
03:36You might have been a night.
03:37You might have been a night.
03:38You might have been a night.
03:39You might have been a night.
03:40You might have been a night.
03:41You might have been a night.
03:42You might have been a night.
03:43You might have been a night.
03:44You might have been a night.
03:45You might have been a night.
03:46You might have been a night.
03:47You might have been a night.
03:48You might have been a night.
03:49You might have been a night.
03:51And we're about to go to David Price, and a listener had booked David Price for us.
03:55Yeah.
03:56And this listener was going to win.
03:57All of a sudden, the word comes in.
03:59Matt Cain is on hold, fresh off his perfect game.
04:04This was June 14th, and it must have been 2013, because I was fired by 14.
04:10So, 2013, we're live at the Olympic Club.
04:13We're not doing a whole thing on golf.
04:15We're doing, you know, Matt Cain.
04:16Well, Matt Cain, perfect game.
04:18But David Price is coming on, so we're going to ask David about Matt, and then Matt calls in.
04:23So, it's like, tell David, sorry.
04:25Sorry, David Price.
04:27We're going to Matt Cain.
04:28So, in this business, you never know where the pivot's going to come from.
04:32Matt Cain in 40 minutes.
04:34That's partly why I told the story.
04:36Clearly, this was when I was fired, because I just would have gotten Steph.
04:43Game over.
04:45You didn't have that.
04:46It's out of control right now.
04:47You didn't have that gravitas in 13.
04:49But you know what?
04:50I think that actually, you got fired before me, and then you got rehired back before me.
04:55That's true.
04:56That's a hard time.
04:57Well, when I got rehired back, you were there in the conference room to greet me, and I remember that in February of 2015.
05:03Can I tell you a lie that Dibley had yesterday that I swear to God I was laughing out loud in my car?
05:09Because you got to call him out.
05:10You actually LOL'd?
05:11I did.
05:12No, he will.
05:13I did.
05:14I was talking about Posey.
05:15Hey, do you need anything?
05:16Go hire.
05:17And Tiff goes, well, I got to tell you, I'm really interested to see what's going to happen to Pete Patella.
05:23Yeah.
05:24I mean, funny at the time, not so funny now.
05:28Reassigned.
05:29Right.
05:30You know what that means.
05:31Pete Patella.
05:32He's not been fired.
05:33Correct.
05:34No, but they're finding stuff for him to do.
05:36He's going to clean the bathroom.
05:37I was there today.
05:38It needs some work.
05:39I'm trying to remember what show it was where somebody got reassigned, and their new office
05:43was in the basement.
05:44That was office space.
05:45Yeah, thank you.
05:46That movie.
05:48So yeah, you're reassigned.
05:49Now you're in a windowless basement, Pete, and you get to go ahead and look at video.
05:54Let's look at the history of the split finger fastball.
05:57Let that be real.
05:58If they wanted to fire him, they'd just fire him.
06:00Right.
06:01They're going to have him do something.
06:03They must value him on some level, or they would just let him go.
06:06Yeah.
06:07Right?
06:08True.
06:10They're like, oh God, we're buried underneath the Pete Patella contract.
06:13Right.
06:14Just let him go if you don't want him.
06:16And if the demotion is so ignominious or embarrassing, he can always leave.
06:22Yeah.
06:23So he doesn't have to take whatever demotion he's getting.
06:26I mean, he just got here.
06:27Yeah.
06:28So whatever.
06:29Yeah.
06:30I spent four hours trying to convince him at the top of the to-do list for Buster, Operation
06:35Snail.
06:36See, I don't agree with that.
06:39Hold on.
06:40Hold on.
06:41And that's not my opinion.
06:43That's his opinion, I think.
06:45Oh, yeah.
06:47Did you hear?
06:48Yeah.
06:49We listened.
06:50Let the listeners hear exactly how Buster answered Susan Slusser's question toward the
06:57end about Blake Snell.
06:59I mean, Blake's one of the premier starting pitchers in the big leagues, has been for
07:04a while.
07:05In the run he went on the last 12 or 14 starts.
07:07I think I saw a quote from Bob.
07:08It was really like nothing you'd ever seen.
07:10So he's obviously somebody that's going to be a priority for us to take a hard look at
07:15and make a decision as a group.
07:17So I can only tell you what I did when he said that.
07:20I leaned forward in my chair.
07:21You were in the room.
07:22And then I leaned back in my chair.
07:24Because as soon as he said he's obviously someone who's a priority for us, I leaned
07:30forward in my chair.
07:31And then after a quick pause, he goes to take a look at and then make a decision as a group.
07:36Okay.
07:37And that means to me he's gone.
07:38All right.
07:39Shout out Twitter.
07:40Follow me here.
07:41Okay.
07:42If he did somehow retain the services and bring Snell back, wouldn't this thing get off to
07:46a bang?
07:47Here's what I'll agree with you on.
07:48You know what I mean?
07:49It might bang.
07:50I'll agree with you on the concept.
07:51I'll agree with you on the concept, not the player.
07:54I'll agree with you that Buster, it would be very good for him to take a big swing.
08:00But somebody has already brought Blake Snell in on free agency.
08:03That was Farhan.
08:05I would do something that Farhan hasn't done, which is grab some of the young players in
08:09your farm system, send them out of here, and get a shortstop.
08:14That's like right now, Doval and Matos for Boba Shett.
08:18Okay.
08:19All right.
08:20Wow.
08:21I would do that as quickly as it is available to me.
08:24All right.
08:25I would do that.
08:26Because I'm calling Eldridge Chesky's favorite guy a phenom.
08:29He got to AAA.
08:30I know it was in September.
08:32Is there a chance in this new baseball that he could be on the big club in some form or
08:36fashion?
08:37Dave Fleming told us yesterday an absolute yes that he will make his Major League debut
08:41next season.
08:42If I set the over-under June 1st.
08:44I'll take the under.
08:45Exactly.
08:46Man, that's exciting in itself.
08:47No need to go get Soto.
08:49I didn't want.
08:50He ain't leaving.
08:51Not Soto.
08:52Pete Alonzo.
08:53He ain't leaving.
08:54He got a playoff.
08:55It eliminates Pete Alonzo.
08:57Unless you want to sell Pete that on the second half of his career he could just come be a
09:02DH.
09:03You could do that.
09:04And you need one of those.
09:05And the thing about Blake Snell that hit me from Buster today is he talked a lot about
09:09Matt Chapman and what Matt Chapman did, which is show up every day and play every day.
09:14Yeah.
09:15And Blake Snell, when he got healthy, he showed up every day and he was dominant.
09:18Incredible.
09:19And then he had one more start to make and he said, mmm.
09:22Bobby Evans said it was a nothing burger because they're trying to.
09:25Did not use that term.
09:26But I'm telling you.
09:27What did Bobby say?
09:28He said.
09:29Tell them.
09:30Not the hot dog.
09:31I love Bobby.
09:32We talked to him at Michael Urban's funeral.
09:34Yeah.
09:35He basically said, you know, when a guy's going into free agency.
09:39It's okay.
09:40It's okay.
09:41Like they still want to keep him here.
09:43So that was allowed.
09:44I get it.
09:45But if you're Buster and I think that the one thing Buster wants is some everyday players
09:50like Matt Chapman played what?
09:52150.
09:53Incredible man.
09:54152.
09:55I don't know.
09:56It was a big number.
09:57It was up there.
09:58And I think that Buster wants those types of guys who are going to show up every day.
10:02Patrick Bailey, even though he didn't have a hit for about five weeks, he showed up every
10:07day and went out there and played.
10:09And so for me, that's one of the messages I took from today.
10:12Yeah.
10:13I think the best part of today and there was I would say there was a lot more good than
10:18and I wouldn't use the word bad at all of it.
10:21But the best part of today is that Buster Posey talked about how they're in the business
10:27of making memories.
10:28Oh, I thought that was his.
10:30That hit me.
10:31That was his best quote.
10:32Where?
10:33We're in the business of making memories so that fans can go out there.
10:36He said that.
10:37He drew a line directly to obviously didn't use himself, but he's one of these people.
10:41Lincecum and Mad Bum and Matt Cain 230.
10:46And right.
10:47And then and before him, Will Clark and Barry Bonds.
10:50And you can go on and on.
10:51The good times.
10:52Like he basically said, we need a lot better players.
10:57And it's fact.
10:58We need a lot better players.
10:59And that doesn't mean you have to win free agency or spend the most money or whatever.
11:03Like, in fact, almost all of those guys he mentioned were homegrown players.
11:07So I don't know necessarily where they're coming from, but he needs to be very aggressive
11:13very quickly in getting players on the roster of people want to see, obviously.
11:18Like, here's the way I look.
11:20It's very vague.
11:21But when the Giants were winning in 10, 12 and 14, I feel like there were certain players
11:26and you could say, you know what?
11:28They're Giants like they they fit the profile.
11:31And I think that's kind of what they want to get back to.
11:36Like, let's get giant players here who are going to be here for a while.
11:41That's kind of why I don't see Snell being really a fit.
11:45I don't know.
11:46I think Posey wants guys who are going to be invested here, who are going to be here for a while.
11:52I'm not saying Snell wouldn't be.
11:54But it sounds like it those days.
11:56Does Blake Snell feel like a giant to you?
11:58But he has no IU on video or anything in the paper of not being happy here.
12:03No, that's not true.
12:05He had that issue with the athletic staff early when he thought they were pushing him
12:10and he wasn't quite ready.
12:12I don't know.
12:13He just doesn't feel like Buster Posey's kind of guy.
12:15He's a little bit of a quirky guy.
12:16I like him.
12:17Yeah, he's a great pitcher.
12:18He's a little bit of a quirky guy.
12:20And again, right now if you're Buster and you're thinking about allocation of resources,
12:27I don't know that that's necessarily the place to do it.
12:31There are a lot of good free agent pitchers available.
12:34Do you need to go to the top of the market when you already are looking at a Logan Webb
12:38and a Robbie Ray and you like Hayden Birdsong and I don't know about Kyle Harrison,
12:43but that's not probably where I want to break off my biggest contract.
12:48Every day player.
12:50Yeah, yeah.
12:51They need, as they said it, they need cleaner, professional baseball players.
12:57So you think the days of Yaz, and I'm just bringing him up because he showed the poster late,
13:02Lamont Wade Jr., you think those are coming to an end?
13:06They could be bench guys, but I think you need a real everyday first baseman
13:10and you need a real everyday right fielder.
13:13If Yaz is your fourth outfielder and Lamont Wade Jr. is your DH slash backup first baseman,
13:20that's okay to me, but you need a shortstop, somebody you can rely on for 145 of those.
13:26And, you know, Brandon Crawford was a guy who didn't hit a ton all the time,
13:30but you put him out there and you knew that he was going to catch everything from second to deep short
13:35and he was going to be the dude.
13:37And I think Buster said today the phrase pitching and defense more than once
13:42and that's how they won, and so I do think that he's going to build this thing in that same way.
13:47You think they regret the Correa non-signing or seeing the medicals?
13:51Because he had a bad 314 homers.
13:54But that was 13 years until he was 41.
13:58I mean, he was hurt, too.
14:00Yeah, and he wasn't that good last year.
14:03I don't know that that's on the Mount Rushmore of things that went wrong with the Giants in the Farhan era.
14:11Like the players you just brought up, we were just talking about this in the other room,
14:14and this is unfortunate for these guys.
14:16It's not their fault.
14:18But the fan base is so angry with Farhan Zaidi
14:25that I think that there are three players in the system right now who sort of just have Farhan residue.
14:31Name them, man!
14:33Farhan residue all over.
14:35Luciano, clearly.
14:37Let me do this, Mark, and then we'll try to guess.
14:40You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ FM in HD1 San Francisco.
14:44Always live on the free Odyssey app, Twitch, and YouTube,
14:47I would say Luciano, even though he didn't draft him.
14:50That's not one of the people I'm thinking of.
14:52That's not one of the people I'm thinking of.
14:54These are the guys that are out there daily.
14:56Yazz, absolutely.
14:58Because I saw yesterday or two days ago, he said,
15:00I have a soft spot for Yazz.
15:02Well, here's the thing about Mike Yastrzemski and the other two, which I'll name in a minute,
15:06which is they are quintessential Farhan Zaidi players because,
15:11and this is, again, it's not their fault,
15:13but what this organization was defined by for six years is,
15:17hey, look at the guy that I found that's actually a little bit better than he was supposed to be.
15:24Doesn't mean he's a great player,
15:26but hey, look what I found in the bargain bin that actually should be on the main aisle.
15:32Wow.
15:33And fans are done with that.
15:35Conforto.
15:36It's not Conforto. He's gone anywhere.
15:37Matos.
15:38No, it's Yazz.
15:39Wisely.
15:40Let him go.
15:41No, I want to guess.
15:42That's so bad.
15:43You've missed five times. Take a layoff.
15:45You've got three strikes.
15:46All right.
15:47Man.
15:48It's Yazz, Wade, and Tyros Driver.
15:51There we go.
15:52Because all three were acquired in the exact same way,
15:54which is, look at this player that I got for nothing.
15:57That's real.
15:58Who can actually kind of play.
16:00He can kind of play.
16:02I get it.
16:03But it's not what you really want out of first base or right field.
16:07No doubt.
16:08Yazz is a really good defensive player.
16:11And is solid enough to be on your team.
16:13Wade, like you didn't hit for any power.
16:16And I don't know what the hell happened to your leg,
16:18but it never got better.
16:19After two weeks, you're in the All-Star game.
16:21And you're not very good defensively over at first, by the way.
16:23But we found you for Sean Anderson.
16:25So that's cool.
16:26Tyro Estrada, do you all remember this?
16:28Cash considerations.
16:30Yep.
16:31That's a cash considerations deal.
16:32That's a win.
16:34But is it?
16:35Because if he's hitting 220.
16:37He fell off.
16:38Exactly.
16:39Can I tell you who I want out of here?
16:41Is it me?
16:42No.
16:43It's a giant player.
16:44I don't want to ever see him again, believe it or not.
16:46I'm trying to guess.
16:48Kurt Casali.
16:50I want him out.
16:51Why the hell would you?
16:53There's something about him.
16:55I just don't like him.
16:56I don't like him.
16:57That's terrible.
16:58He's like the Giants version of Steven Vogt.
17:00Exactly.
17:01No, he's not as good as Vogt was.
17:02He doesn't hit as well as Vogt did.
17:03Yeah, Vogt can play on my team.
17:04No, but he can receive.
17:05And he's a beloved back of catcher.
17:07You hate him for no reason.
17:08That's what's wrong with us, man.
17:09It's what he does about Kyle Juszczyk, too.
17:11He hates the guy for no reason.
17:13Juszczyk's much better than Casali.
17:15Best interview on the team by far.
17:17Casali?
17:18Oh, God, it's not close.
17:19He is a gem.
17:20Casali.
17:21Gem of a dude.
17:22Kurt Casali.
17:23Speaking of which, Willard, let me down today.
17:25Huh?
17:26Let me got two questions in.
17:27You got one.
17:28No, you didn't.
17:29I counted two.
17:30Uh-oh, you did?
17:31Another mistake?
17:32Let me got two.
17:33You got one.
17:34I have two for one.
17:35I think you got one.
17:36I don't know how to score.
17:37But whatever, he can win.
17:38That's fine.
17:39And the lady was like, we'll go two.
17:40I'm like, Willard!
17:41Number two!
17:42The top three were, it went Slusser, McCauley, Willard.
17:45And Slusser and McCauley each doubled up, which is fine.
17:49I heard 11 twice.
17:50I ain't gonna link it to Sammy.
17:52Willard on the podium, which was an upset.
17:55I set the over-under yesterday at ten and a half.
17:58Now, when you say podium.
18:00Like the top three.
18:01You're saying I got a bronze medal because I was the third questioner.
18:04He was the third questioner.
18:05I caught Jizz's eye early.
18:06Sluss went one-two, and then Janie McCauley from the AP went one-two.
18:11And I loved it.
18:12I'm in the car, coming back from dropping off the baby at the park.
18:16Let's go to Mark on the right side.
18:18Where did you get off jumping in before Baggerly and Pavlovich?
18:22I was sitting next to Baggs, and he didn't want it yet.
18:25No.
18:26He didn't want that smoke.
18:27He didn't ask for it.
18:28Our phones were sitting on the chair in between us together.
18:31The great ones do assess first.
18:33That's right.
18:34He wanted to lay back.
18:36He wanted to sit back.
18:37He said, you go take the mic, buddy.
18:39He goes, I know I'm here every day.
18:40You take the mic.
18:41Kawakami in the weeds as well.
18:42Kawakami, I think, was four.
18:44He was pretty quick.
18:45Might have been.
18:46And Johnny Shea was a bombshell.
18:48He waited.
18:49He waited, and then he showed up with a big sack of sandbags.
18:53He did.
18:54He had receipts.
18:55He was a little combative.
18:56It was a little, tiny bit combative.
18:59He's like, now that you have a new regime,
19:02are you guys going to be a little bit more transparent?
19:07Hold on.
19:08The answer started to us last night.
19:10And he said, let me finish.
19:12He finished his thought.
19:14They start answering, and he jumped in like,
19:16I'm going to finish this.
19:17I actually thought that's an interesting concept
19:21that Brian Johnson wants.
19:25No, he does not want contracts of coaches and GMs
19:30Oh, Greg.
19:31Oh, I'm sorry.
19:32Brian Johnson wants a wonderful home run for the Giants.
19:35Mistake.
19:36And I was thinking about that, because that, to me, is interesting.
19:39He thinks that's unnecessary.
19:42He doesn't want that out there.
19:43It's a distraction.
19:44What if I give a point to both sides on this one?
19:47If Greg wants that to be private,
19:49he's totally allowed for it to be private.
19:51But why?
19:52But Shea is saying, if you want to be private, be private.
19:55You told us something that actually wasn't true.
19:58Oh, boy.
20:00And it wasn't Greg.
20:01It was Farhan.
20:02You said that it was a three-year deal.
20:05And it's not a three-year deal.
20:07He came with it.
20:08So I think his point was, you could either not say it,
20:11but if you're going to say it, how about if it's true?
20:14And then the follow-up was, so, yeah, what about Bob's extension?
20:18And Greg started to jump in, and John said, oh, I'm actually asking Buster.
20:22Because Greg said, oh, that's a Buster question.
20:24Yeah, Greg gave it to Buster.
20:26No, Greg said, that's a Buster question.
20:28And John said, that's who I was asking.
20:30That's who I'm talking to.
20:32And then Buster said a whole lot of stuff without saying anything at all,
20:36which is that Bob does not have an extension.
20:38No, but he will, I would bet, within a week or two.
20:41Oh.
20:42I think so.
20:43I'll take the over and bet you anything you want.
20:45Do you think that he'll get an extension before the start of the year,
20:48or will he enter as a lame duck?
20:50I'm not going to make a bet.
20:51And he said that.
20:52And John used that phrase twice.
20:53I'm not going to make a bet on timeline,
20:55but I would bet you that he gets extended before the year starts.
20:58I love that Shea used lame duck twice.
21:01I'll take that bet.
21:02How about no extension?
21:04We'll go ahead and pick up that option on the third year.
21:07That's fine.
21:08That's splitting the baby, and I'll allow that.
21:10And then we're going to see how the year goes, and if it's going well,
21:13and you're in first or second place in the all-star break,
21:16now we're going to add some years on it.
21:17That's a fair way to put it.
21:18That's what I would bet.
21:19And Buster with a three-year deal, how soon until his feet are held to the fire?
21:23All I know is Farhan won 107 in his year three.
21:28Stoddy asked me how long I was giving Buster.
21:30I said three years.
21:31And this new baseball, three years?
21:34I did this yesterday.
21:35I mean, his record, you can play the record game all you want.
21:40How many years was he here?
21:42Six?
21:43Six.
21:44And he made one playoff.
21:45So, yeah, it's wins, she wins.
21:47Give us the postseason, one for six.
21:50Zero series wins.
21:53You know what, Mouth, judge Posey the same way.
21:57I will.
21:58When they go 75 and 87 next year, just know that's worse than any Farhan year.
22:04That's all I'm saying.
22:05What was Mark Jackson's record with the Warriors?
22:07Do you know that?
22:08Hand down, man down.
22:10Better than Farhan, and he won a postseason series.
22:14And turned the culture around.
22:16You ought to be ashamed.
22:17You should be ashamed.
22:18No, you should be ashamed.
22:19No, because you're cherry picking, and you're supposed to be coming at me.
22:21Let me tell you something, Mouth.
22:22Come at me, dog.
22:23I did.
22:24I was telling you I left with the Pete Patel.
22:25Oh, yeah, he did.
22:26That was it.
22:27Oh, that's cool.
22:28I liked it.
22:29Never mind.
22:30Let me tell you.
22:31You're a funny guy, Mouth.
22:32And I gotta get out of here, but feel free to pick up on this conversation.
22:33You actually don't.
22:34It's 2-0-9.
22:35Let me tell you, I have no proof of this, but Bob Melvin, he didn't do Farhan any favors
22:46from inside that building.
22:48What does that mean?
22:49He gave him the job.
22:50What does that mean?
22:51That means...
22:52What does it mean?
22:53It means, I think, there was some...
22:54He threw him under the bus.
22:55Yeah, there was some stuff behind the scenes.
22:56Do you think that Bob was alone?
22:57The conversation with Bags Willard when he was saying, all this stuff will come from
22:58you, and he was like...
22:59But is that throwing Farhan under the bus, or is that an admission that there was stuff
23:00there?
23:01Yeah, there was stuff there.
23:02Yes.
23:03Agreed.
23:04And I guess...
23:05Agreed.
23:06I'm just not fast to jump on Melvin's side all the time.
23:07That's all.
23:08I don't know that that side is...
23:09He should be.
23:10He should be.
23:11He should be.
23:12He should be.
23:13He should be.
23:14He should be.
23:15He should be.
23:21I'd also say that this, and it felt like this in the room today, today was a reboot for
23:25Bob Melvin.
23:27Last year now doesn't count.
23:29Now listen...
23:30It all counts.
23:31Well, you can feel that way.
23:33I'm telling you...
23:34It didn't cost him.
23:35I'm telling you that that's my read on the organization, is that last year is now gonna
23:40be wiped clean on Bob Melvin, and the same way that we sort of did that with Farhan.
23:45Because remember, year one was with Boach, and it was just like...
23:48And he said, I'm not gonna count those.
23:50I'm gonna retire.
23:51And then, now we're gonna start reviewing Farhan.
23:54I think the same thing's gonna happen with Bob.
23:56They're like, okay, now I get a different president, different philosophy, now let's
24:01see how it looks, Bob.
24:03Same with Shadahan.
24:04Those first two years after Kelly and...
24:06Year one is often just kind of like year one.
24:10Like figure it out, get your feet sort of on the ground.
24:11So we had Draymond v. Osler yesterday, and today Shea versus Johnson.
24:17Yeah, it was a little quicker.
24:19It was just a brushback.
24:21The bench just didn't clear.
24:22Bob Melvin, third all-time in managerial wins without a World Series championship.
24:29Who's the first two?
24:30Facts.
24:31Gene Mock and Buck Showalter.
24:33Take that to the bar today.
24:36Buck got to one, though.
24:38Did he win it?
24:39No.
24:40Yeah, no rings.
24:41Bob Melvin, third all-time among ringless managers in regular season wins.
24:46These are just facts.
24:47He's a local guy, so that's okay if you do that.
24:50I love Bob.
24:51We had him on a weekly back in the Rise Guys days.
24:54When I threw the fastball.
24:55Remember, he told me I hurt all dramatics.
24:56That's just going to do it.
24:58And Diebs goes, dude, you with no class.
24:59I don't want to hear about his first pitch for the 19th time, Mark.
25:03Then talk to us.
25:05Man, Willard.
25:06What?
25:07I'm just saying.
25:08I threw so many first pitches at Major League Games, they had me on a pitch count.
25:12Don't start taking your equipment apart.
25:15You have some class, dude.
25:16I threw three.
25:17I threw a heater.
25:18It was like 73.
25:20No movement.
25:21They called me BP in high school.
25:24Yeah.
25:25I could throw a strike.
25:26I could throw a strike.
25:27Because it's slow.
25:28Didn't have a lot on it.
25:29So I wouldn't be afraid of you.
25:30Oh, God.
25:31That is my son.
25:32You'd have ripped me in the gap.
25:33You'd have ripped me in the gap big time.
25:34Get out of here.
25:35Are you leaving?
25:36Yeah.
25:37I mean, Luke is coming in here solidified now.
25:39Why?
25:40What do you got against him?
25:41We're going to the Miami Cowgirls.
25:42He's like the right fielder in parenthood.
25:45He has no business being out there.
25:46Are you going out there for game day?
25:47I'm going.
25:48I'm going to meet Nash.
25:49Lucas.
25:50You're going to game day?
25:51Yeah.
25:52And the boss goes, oh, you're not going to go.
25:53Hey, man, bye.
25:54Dude, let me just say this, and I'll do it quickly as Stiney's packing up.
25:58I went to game day at Texas A&M College Station, Tennessee in town.
26:05I got there at about seven.
26:06It was one of the more fun days I've ever had at college game day.
26:10That solidifies it.
26:11I'm going.
26:12It was incredible.
26:14What's the difference, Stiney?
26:15Oh, 95-7, the game.
26:16Stick around tomorrow.
26:17I'll give you the answer.
26:18There's a tease.
26:19What a tease.
