00:00Newcastle United won EFC 1-0 here at St James' Park this evening, and with that Newcastle
00:07United put their place into the fourth round of the FA Cup where they will entertain Chelsea
00:12who just won that a month's time. Now tonight's game, largely uninspiring by Newcastle United,
00:18Adil Yao made eight changes for the game, and it's fair to say most of those eight changes
00:23didn't grasp the opportunity ahead of that evident game at the weekend, and of course
00:27games after that as well. Flat first half, Newcastle United did go in leading though,
00:34Fabian Scheer's penalty, a controversial call according to Wimbledon manager Jonny Jackson.
00:39There was two moments when Fabian Scheer went to ground under the challenge from Joe Piggott,
00:47that was waved on, Jonny Jackson felt that was a dive, and then as I say seconds later,
00:54Fabian, I'm sorry, Alonso goes down on the challenge from Joe Piggott, there was a slight
00:58delay but the linesmen give it and Scheer stepped up to score who I thought was Newcastle
01:03United's best performer tonight by some distance. Now the second half was slightly better but
01:09Newcastle United didn't really threaten to be honest, Bruno Guimaraes came on at half-time
01:14and although it took him ten minutes to probably settle in the game, I thought he helped calm
01:18things down in the midfield and gave Newcastle United some control. Yeah, it's remained
01:231-0, Wimbledon had late pressure, probably the final couple of minutes but it was a fairly
01:28comfortable see-out for Newcastle United in the end. Yeah, as I mentioned there, I thought
01:33Fabian Scheer was Newcastle United's man of the match by some distance, I thought Miguel
01:37Alonso on the main was actually decent, albeit he probably should have scored at the end
01:41of him, I showed that there when he's played through, but hit it into the stand and Willis
01:46Sula who I thought was good in the second half, I thought he was starved of service
01:51in the first half but showed these sort of qualities in the second half. Very, very raw
01:56Willis Sula but there's a lot of qualities there, I like playing on the shoulder, he's
02:00quick, big, determined, there was a moment in the half when he was chasing down a lot
02:05of Wimbledon players who were in the ball, but I really liked that, so a positive showing
02:08for him albeit against a League 2 side but as I say, this wasn't the best of performances
02:15but Newcastle United helped me with an extra in the Carabao Cup and that's all that matters.
