00:30He suffered a stroke and his body became paralyzed.

00:34He used his right hand to paint.

00:37I saw how hard it was for him.

00:41Sometimes, I would come home from teaching and he would cry

00:46because it was so simple.

00:49Why is it so hard to do?

00:52But Fernando never stopped spreading colors.

00:57I was forced to paint with my left hand.

01:08What could I do?

01:11It was so hard.

01:14I put plywood on top of a wheelchair

01:18and then I gave him a brush with my left hand

01:23and he would rotate the paper.

01:28After two years, his works were displayed abroad.

01:33And until now, there are still exhibits.

01:38They are all Filipino subjects and mostly countryside, local life.

01:48That's why when he exhibited in the UN,

01:53he was thanked by his fellow Filipinos who worked there

01:58because of the beauty of his painting of the Philippines.

02:04He also continued to share his knowledge with other students.

02:08He would give comments about our paintings

02:11and he would joke with us.

02:15This exhibit will be more memorable for the students

02:18because they learned techniques from Mr. Cabigting

02:22in painting so that it will be a learning experience for them.

02:30Fernando Cabigting is an example of perseverance.

02:34Even if we get sick, we can still be successful.
