00:00And just like there is this syndrome, there is a lot more, but today we are gathered for that precisely, so I have to tell you congratulations to start, because you are a strong mother, give me your hand, let's see who wins, come on, come on, come on, well I congratulate you and I think you are an example for many mothers, so I greet everyone who is watching us live.
00:31So keep on going.
00:33That one right there.
00:34In her suit.
00:36Thank you, bye.
00:38Alright, so now we are back with Siri, how are you darling?
00:41Hi Siri, how are you? Thank you for coming out here tonight, thank you.
00:46I feel honored because I never actually had the time to talk to the mother, you know, so I think that, I mean, you see so many movies, you hear so many things and it's like, but after all, it's all about what mothers do for their kids.
00:59That's right.
01:00You know, so I guess you have this great party, people are going crazy, people are dressed, you know, very extravagant, like we call.
01:06Very extravagant, very, extremely.
01:09But the great thing is that people are getting together with this extravagant Halloween party for a cause.
01:14So, and you're not suffering this yourself as a daughter, but as a niece, right?
01:19Yes, correct.
01:20That is my sister's daughter and I do everything for my family, so anything that I can do to help, you know, family before anything.
01:28Especially my niece Gia, my sister's kids are like my children, my sister is like my daughter, so I do anything.
01:35Really?
01:36Yeah, it's like a big family.
01:38How much of a difference?
01:39I only have one sister, there's a seven age difference, so she's my baby sister.
01:43You guys look the same.
01:44Yeah.
01:45Same age.
01:46But she's like my little girl, so her kids are my kids, so it affects me, whatever affects my nieces, it affects me.
01:55Now, how do you, do you maybe think about having children later on or?
01:59I have a 14 year old daughter.
02:01Right, you're in the hard, you're in the difficult part right now.
02:04Oh yeah, the teen years, yeah, that's not easy, but I'm blessed and we're all blessed, we come from a very good family,
02:10we came with a very good upbringing, we have very good parents, and I think we've done a very good job with our daughters, we are very blessed.
02:17So I was telling your sister, I'm like, you know, there's certain movies that are out of people that have made differences,
02:22I hate that I can't remember the name, but there's Oliver's Oil, I think it's Oliver's Oil, I think that's his name,
02:31but it's a family that everybody looked at them as bad because he had Down Syndrome and nobody ever thought that he could go on,
02:38and you know, they would have the kid, there's actually a movie of this, so I think that you guys are making history too, that's why I'm telling you.
02:45You know, and actually nowadays you can buy Oliver's Oil and it's about Down Syndrome, but I think a little bit more specific where they can't really move,
02:54and you know, he lived until he was 35.
02:57Wow, that's a great thing.
02:59I think that by you guys doing this, you know, you're encouraging so many people to just not give up on their children,
03:04and the fact of saying like, a lot of people, believe it or not, a lot of people, you know, have kids and they feel bad.
03:11Our job really is mainly to create awareness.
03:14My sister specializes in what the medical field of the Rett Syndrome is.
03:19My job is to basically answer the phone calls for the moms when they just find out that they've been affected with their child has Rett Syndrome.
03:27So I basically, I listen to the stories, I try to help them, I listen, I cry, it affects me, every story affects me,
03:36from a child that's just been diagnosed to one that's had it for a while,
03:41and basically we try to create as much awareness as we can by letting everyone know we have an amazing event every year,
03:49we have the following every year has grown more and more, and I think that Rett is something that is becoming more known now,
03:58and the simple fact that there's so many autistic children out there, and the parents don't realize that maybe it's not autism what they have,
04:05but they may have Rett Syndrome, and it's a simple blood test, and my job is to let them know, go see another doctor.
