00:00The Commission on Elections in Okomelec assured that the withdrawal of one of the local partners of the joint venture of Mirosystems, Joshua Garcia, will not affect the 2025 midterm elections.

00:17At the end of the third day of the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy for the 2025 National and Local Elections in Manila Hotel Tent City,

00:24the Commission on Elections confirmed that the withdrawal of one of the three partners of the joint venture of Mirosystems will supply machinery and other peripherals for the election.

00:34According to Komelec, they received information that some personalities running local and national elections have connections with the St. Timothy Construction Company.

00:43This is one of the three local companies ventured by Mirosystems.

00:54We would like to withdraw from the joint venture. Number two, we might be compelled to, in the interest of ensuring a clean, orderly and honest election,

01:05we will be compelled to disqualify certain candidates because we honestly believe that that will be what we call as conflict of interest.

01:15The Commission did not mention to the individuals that the candidature will also include.

01:20Komelec also explained that this is a step to save the election integrity and avoid doubt.

01:25It seems unacceptable that we have a partner, a provider, who is running the election because the integrity of our election will be compromised.

01:37Because in our opinion, it is also a favor to them. If we lose, it's okay. But what if we win?

01:47Then what will be said is that the election might be lost. We don't want the people to have that kind of doubt.

01:54They have nothing to worry about the withdrawal of the St. Timothy Construction Company.

01:58The remaining two partners in the contract are still capable of running the election.

02:02Meanwhile, in the 21st, the Certificate of Candidacy was signed on the third day,

02:08with 12 of them on the Senator and 7 on the party list.

02:12Some of the well-known personalities who fired their COCs are the re-electionists,

02:16Senator Bong Go, Bato Dela Rosa, aspiring Senator Philip Salvador, and Mayor Miguel Ike Ponce III of Pateros as the second nominee of the poor party list.

02:25Another well-known candidate is Dr. Willie Ong's wife, Dr. Liza, who became emotional in front of the media.

02:34She shared that Dr. Willie Ong is still in Singapore for his treatment and is expected to return in November.

02:40The COC also fired the son of Senator Grace Poe, Brian Poe Lamanzares, as the first nominee of the FPJ-Panday-Bayanihan party list.

02:47In total, since the first day of the COC filing of Tom Marquez, 34 COCs have already filed for the Senator, while four are already on the party list.

02:58There is no doubt that the third day of the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy is generally peaceful throughout the country.
