00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. recognized the role of teachers in upholding education and education of the next generation of our country.

00:10And in the inauguration of National Teachers Month, the President assured that his administration will continue to strive to meet their needs.

00:20Clay Salpardilla in detail.

00:22You teachers did not just impart the wisdom necessary for us to flourish, you have also instilled in us the values that guide us through life's challenges.

00:36Thank you very much. Long live to all of you teachers, ma'ams, sirs.

00:43The hard work and dedication of the teachers was given by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the inauguration of 2024 National Teachers Month.

00:53The teachers are close to President Marcos' heart.

00:56His wife, First Lady Liza Araneto Marcos, and his mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, are also his professors.

01:03The President witnessed the sacrifices of the teachers, from their teaching to helping the communities that have lost their jobs.

01:13If there is a party, if there is a big birthday, if there is a VIP, if there are big shots coming, what will the Mayor do? He will call.

01:23Call the Superintendent.

01:25The teachers need to be prepared. We will do something because there will be a visitor.

01:31You can see the teachers, their fingers are already bleeding. They will be stamped on the tablecloth.

01:42Then inside the kitchen, you can see the teachers, they are continuously cooking pancit.

01:48They are not teaching anymore.

01:50That's why I think I'm safe in saying that not only will the schools not work without teachers, the community will not function without you.

02:06There are many challenges that the teachers are facing.

02:09That's why the Administration of Marcos is pushing to meet their needs.

02:15Like the implementation of the Expanded Career Progression.

02:18According to Executive Order No. 174, the teachers are being given the opportunity to lead their profession,

02:26by choosing to teach in schools.

02:31There are no longer teachers in public schools who will retire in an entry-level position.

02:37The President also insisted on giving support to fulfill their duties.

02:42Under the Return to Teaching Act, the teachers left the teaching allowance.

02:48And from Php 5,000, it will be increased to Php 10,000 effective next year.

02:55In addition to this, the teachers' Php 7,000 medical allowance.

03:00What we see here is not financial aid.

03:04This is reassuring.

03:06This makes sure and ensures that you have the tools that are necessary for your effective teaching.

03:16To make the teachers even happier, the teachers gave their best performance.

03:22But the President also gave his small gift and flowers to the teachers' representatives in various regions.

03:31He gave us time. It means to sit up. He gave us priority.

03:37What he said, of course, is a big help to the teachers.

03:43At the same time, we were motivated to do our task very well.

03:49Our morale was boosted.

03:50In addition, House Speaker Martin Romualdez promised to pass laws to improve the welfare of the teachers.
