00:09A multi-committee will be formed to address the nation's challenges related to food security.
00:16Under House Resolution 2036,
00:21House Speaker Martin Rubaldez and Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio Gonzalez Jr.
00:27will join the five House Committees on Ways and Means,
00:31Trade and Industry, Agriculture, Social Services, and the Special Committee on Food Security.
00:37As part of the Quint Committee's goals,
00:40to use P20 per kilo of rice,
00:45to increase gross value-added growth or GVA in agriculture,
00:50and to reduce agricultural production losses from 15% to 30%,
00:55and to stabilize the price of livestock and poultry.
00:59In the end, the Quint Committee came up with measures
01:03to make food affordable for every Filipino.
01:08The Department of Agriculture recorded a 90% antibody count
01:13in pigs vaccinated against African Swine Fever.
01:17It was recorded 28 days after pigs were slaughtered in Lobo, Batangas.
01:24According to DA Spokesperson Asek Arnel Debeza,
01:27this is just a proof that the vaccine is effective.
01:30They hope that this will continue and will be the basis of the Food and Drug Administration
01:36for commercial approval for the vaccine.
01:39As of now, the number of barangays affected by ASF has increased to 534
01:45this October from 458 barangays in August.
01:50With the assistance of the government and a group of pig farmers,
01:54they asked Agriculture Secretary Francisco T. Laurel Jr.
01:59to convince President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
02:03to approve the emergency use authorization of the ASF vaccine from Vietnam.
