00:00In Venezuela, on Sunday, people celebrated the National Day of Salsa with a cultural

00:04colloquium in the state of Nueva Esparta.

00:06Musicians, culturists, and salsa lovers gathered on Margarita Island to recall the origin and

00:12evolution of this musical genre.

00:15Dance groups gave a demonstration of this Afro-Caribbean rhythm, which has become part

00:19of the cultural heritage of Venezuela.

00:20During the event, salsa experts called on young people to preserve salsa and to remember

00:25the Venezuelan orchestras that contributed to make the rhythm known worldwide.

00:33We are enjoying the performance by our Margarita Salsa Resistance, the orchestra Cinco Dot

00:38Sun.

00:39We are very happy with this initiative to have this celebration to share with them long

00:43live salsa and long live Venezuela.

00:47And in the United States, the children's theater company La Colmenita de Cuba performed

00:50at the Apollo Theater in New York, deeply touching the audience.

00:54The entire presentation is for the need of hope and unity born from the heart and soul

00:59of the children.

01:00Through its verses, the company shows its demands for the cease of the blockade upon

01:04the Antillean nation.

01:05The performance denounced the siege of Venezuela and the genocide against the Palestinian people.

01:10The show culminated with singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez's inspiring invitation
