00:00Six countries, including the Philippines, will conduct a military exercise in Northern Luzon.

00:05Their warships have already arrived in the country.

00:09But what is this for?

00:11Chino Gaston is on the scene.

00:15The warships from America, Australia, Japan, Canada, and the Philippines are already in Subic Bay

00:22to participate in the 2024 exercises.

00:26Observers from the UK have also sent in

00:29interoperability or the ability to sail at the same time

00:33to the military exercise that will end in a joint sail in Northern Luzon.

00:39This includes providing sufficient supply to the ships and people

00:44whenever there is a military operation or a time of emergency.

00:47Will training be used in resupply missions?

00:50In BRP Sierra Madre, in Ayungin Shoal, which was blocked by China several times.

00:55So we'll execute that as much as possible.

00:58So some of the assets that we had hoped to send here, we couldn't,

01:02but we can still have the training.

01:05China has long called for the Philippines to invite its allies to the exercises.

01:14In response to the Northern Luzon Command of the AFP,

01:16the country has not been allowed to conduct any joint exercises.

01:21The joint sail in Scarborough Shoal, which was approved by China, will also not be near.

01:26This is actually a six-nation exercise to develop skills,

01:32to develop different logistic systems so that we could help each other.

01:40Everybody's maritime interests are protected.

01:42We might not be going out of the territorial seas,

01:46but we will conduct it mostly in the northern part of Luzon.

01:51Deterrence or cessation of any kind of clashes or attacks

01:55is the main message of the simultaneous deployment of the country's allies

01:59under the 2024 Joint Military Exercises.
