01:29According to the National Maritime Council, the Philippines will not leave Escoda Shoal.

01:35The Philippines has sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction in its EEZ that follows the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS,

01:43a 2016 arbitral award.

01:45China's presence and activities are illegal and against the law.

01:51The Philippine Navy is ready for any attack by China.

01:55One of the options that the other side can do is to attack, but there are already contingencies in place.

02:01Our Western Command knows what to do in case this would escalate.

02:07According to the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, they are aware of what is happening in the area and are ready to take action to protect their territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.

03:30For Maritime Law Expert Professor Jay Batumbacal, the Philippines should not give up,

03:36especially if China's actions in the West Philippine Sea are based on a plan.
