00:00There are always two ways to look at things because, as the saying goes, there's a B-side to every story.
00:06That's how a veteran politician sees what others may perceive as the mere establishment of a political dynasty.
00:13Mela Lesmora tells us more.
00:18Senator Cynthia Villar asserted her family's business should be considered a family legacy, not a political dynasty.
00:25Villar made this statement after she filed her Certificate of Candidacy for the Congressional seat of Las Pinas' Lone District.
00:32She was accompanied by her husband, former Senate President Manny Villar, and their children, Senator Mark Villar and House Deputy Speaker Camille Villar.
00:55Aside from Villar, businesswoman Rose Nonolin has filed her COC, seeking to lead the 5th District of Quezon City.
01:09Lin has been implicated in illegal pogos and the formerly scandal.
01:13However, when the media asked her about these issues, she only responded with a no-comment remark.
01:18As the deadline for COC filing approaches, more aspirants have been arriving one after another.
01:24Like Paranaque's 2nd District Representative Gustang Bunting, who aims to run again for the same position.
01:30Meanwhile, brothers Edwin Olivares of the 1st District of Paranaque and Paranaque Mayor Eric Olivares are planning to swap positions in the upcoming elections and have also filed their COCs.
01:42We had a series of consultation with the family and all sectors of Paranaque about our switching.
01:51I was the former former mayor of the 3rd District and we talked to the brothers that they have legislative measures not yet completed in the 18th Congress that they want to continue.
02:04Meanwhile, Marikina's 2nd District Representative Stella Quimbo accompanied her husband, Ator Nimiro Quimbo, as he filed his COC.
02:12Apart from discussing his platforms, Ator Nimiro also took a job against Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro, to which the mayor promptly responded.
02:21Instead of letting us stay in our district, we really want to remove the mayor from Marikina.
02:29This election is not like that. This candidate is not being erased. It's a democratic process. We let people choose.
02:37In various locations, COC filings were also in full swing.
02:41In Ilocos Norte, President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos accompanied their son, incumbent 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos, as he filed his Certificate of Candidacy for re-election.
02:54Tomorrow is the last day of COC filing. The Kamalak reminds those planning to file their COCs to do it early and ensure the requirements are correct and complete to avoid any problems.
03:05If they will return to correct the entries and information, maybe they won't make it. But let's wait until 5 o'clock.
03:11At 5 o'clock, we should be done. But if they are still within the 30-meter radius of our queuing area, at the strike of 5, it's still possible. But at the time we list them, their COCs should be completely filled up.
