00:00Most of all, the first day of filing the Certificate of Candidacy was a peaceful and successful day for the whole country.

00:07And now, Comelec will now listen to the so-called Nuisance Candidate, Joshua Garcia, in detail.

00:19The first day of filing the Certificate of Candidacy or COC was a successful day for the 2025 National and Local Elections.

00:27According to Comelec, they did not receive any untoward incidents in the whole country.

00:32Based on our initial assessment, the first day of filing the Certificate of Candidacy was a successful day.

00:39In the monitoring of our operation center in the main office of Comelec, there was no untoward incident that disturbed our filing of the Certificate of Candidacy.

00:50Some of the victims are partylists and independent candidates running for senator.

00:56Almost all of them are working on their own platforms.

00:59Solving problems in the traffic, climate change, rising wages, and riots in the West Philippine Sea.

01:05There are also some well-known personalities who filed their candidacies.

01:09One of them is the former AgriPartyList representative, Wilbert Lee, who is now running for senator.

01:13We started in the Congress, we want to continue in the Senate.

02:11ACT-CIS PartyList also signed their COC, but did not speak to the Senate.

02:16More than 40 PartyLists were removed from the list.

02:19Because two elections did not get enough votes,

02:22according to COMELEC Resolution No. 11-071,

02:25the country will vote for 18,280 positions in the 2025 midterm elections.

02:33COMELEC also signed the ruling issued by the Supreme Court

02:36that the appointed official who will run as a nominee of the PartyList is deemed resigned.

02:41They are deemed resigned upon the filing of the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance.

02:47So if earlier, out of the 15 who filed the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance,

02:52there is one appointed official or employee of the government,

02:58today, he is deemed resigned because of the TRO of the Supreme Court.

03:03COMELEC will also do its best for the new elections candidates.

03:07But the agency clarified that it is not because of the lack of funds to run.

03:12In total, 30 candidates filed on the first day,

03:15including 17 aspiring senators and 15 PartyLists.
