00:00:00Diddy is in the crosshairs of the feds, and they mean business.
00:00:16You would have thought they were taking down a violent gang leader, not somebody who makes
00:00:21music and has charmed America for decades.
00:00:23Diddy is under criminal investigation after multiple lawsuits accused him of horrific
00:00:29crimes.
00:00:30Music mogul Sean Diddy Combs, accused of sex trafficking and sexual assault.
00:00:35Now, people who lived in Diddy's world are talking to TMZ, and what they say is revealing
00:00:42and disturbing.
00:00:43I knew all of that was going on.
00:00:45I've known the whole time.
00:00:47I've seen Puff have anger spazzes on producers, females.
00:00:52I'm a savage!
00:00:53Whatever I want, I'm going to get!
00:00:54Whatever I want, I have to get!
00:00:56Diddy's alleged bad behavior went unchecked for years.
00:01:01There have always been whispers and rumblings about Diddy.
00:01:05His famous friends are heading for the hills.
00:01:08They have 250 cameras they took out his house.
00:01:11A lot of people might be running from that tape.
00:01:14I don't think it's only celebrities that are going to be shook.
00:01:16He had politicians in there.
00:01:19He had princes in there.
00:01:21He also had a couple of preachers in there.
00:01:25People may fear that somehow he makes it out of this.
00:01:29What did they fear?
00:01:30A flat tire, being murdered.
00:01:32I don't know.
00:01:33But Suge Knight, Diddy's arch enemy, shockingly is sad over Diddy's undoing.
00:01:40I'm not the type of guy to cheer for people's downfalls.
00:01:44And if somebody gets killed or something happens to them, I'm not going to talk to them about it.
00:01:48I done seen this dude shake back from some stuff, right?
00:01:51So, I'm not going to count him out.
00:01:55TMZ presents The Downfall of Diddy.
00:02:18I had just gotten out of the shower and walked inside of the studio.
00:02:28And it was such a nice day.
00:02:30I'm like, let me go sit outside on the bench for a little while.
00:02:33Heard a big boom.
00:02:35Then I heard like, sounds of armored vehicles coming, approaching.
00:02:59Simultaneous raids on March 25, 2024.
00:03:03A massive show of force.
00:03:05Dozens of Homeland Security officers rolled up in armored vehicles at Sean Diddy Combs' mansions in Miami and L.A.
00:03:14Diddy's close friend and producer, Stevie J, was at the Miami property when things got real.
00:03:21Guys jumped out, you know what I'm saying?
00:03:24Guns up and aimed.
00:03:26Get up, get on the fucking ground.
00:03:29Drop your fucking phone.
00:03:31You know what I'm saying?
00:03:32I'm like, yo, I'm here by myself.
00:03:34You know, I didn't ask too many questions.
00:03:37I've seen quite a lot of things, but none with the excessive force of this right here.
00:03:49You would have thought they were taking down a violent gang leader,
00:03:52not somebody who makes music and appears in movies and has charmed America for decades.
00:03:58Breaking news, the Department of Homeland Security has just confirmed to CNN
00:04:02that federal law enforcement agents have raided properties owned by musician and producer Sean Diddy Combs.
00:04:09You can see a crowbar to get through this gate initially as well.
00:04:13The long guns and a multitude of people.
00:04:16As you'll see, they'll zoom out a little bit just to see the amount of force they are using.
00:04:21You know him as Diddy, formerly Puff Daddy.
00:04:23Big time rapper, big time producer, big time superstar.
00:04:26And now the feds at his houses in both locations.
00:04:29Federal officers spent hours removing firearms, computers, boxes and bags of items.
00:04:35Both properties left in shambles.
00:04:48They didn't do this to Harvey Weinstein, right?
00:04:51They didn't do this like this to Epstein, right?
00:04:54Diddy's lawyer called the raids a gross overuse of military level force and a witch hunt.
00:05:00He said Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.
00:05:05I don't know what they're looking for or where they're trying to reach.
00:05:09In L.A., two of Diddy's sons, Justin and King, were briefly detained, then released.
00:05:24A week later, Justin's mom, Misa Hilton, posted this shocking video on social media.
00:05:30Security footage from inside the house.
00:05:34Officers with guns drawn and pointed toward Justin and his brother King.
00:05:38Misa called it overzealous and deplorable.
00:05:42It's hard for me to imagine that had this been many other celebrities, particularly white celebrities,
00:05:48that their children would have been in handcuffs
00:05:50They would have been forced to stare down the barrel of guns and seen armored tanks.
00:05:55It just seemed like a lot for a raid of a music producer.
00:06:02You have to remember that Diddy has been in trouble on some weapons violations in the past.
00:06:09He has security. These are vast compounds with multiple people at them.
00:06:14And so using this type of force was not inappropriate in any way, shape or form.
00:06:19A federal judge had determined there was evidence, significant evidence,
00:06:24Diddy was involved in sex trafficking, sexual assault,
00:06:28and soliciting and distributing illegal narcotics and firearms.
00:06:33And that's why the search warrants were signed.
00:06:36This is a massive investigation.
00:06:38The idea that the feds have taken up this investigation in the first place indicates that it's remarkably serious.
00:06:45Aubrey O'Day, a member of Danity Kane and star of Making the Band,
00:06:49has been the lone voice for years, saying Diddy is a bad guy.
00:06:54She has not spoken publicly since the new allegations surfaced until now.
00:07:00If these allegations are true, why did it take so long for others to speak out?
00:07:05Because you really were a lone voice.
00:07:07Real lone voice.
00:07:08I was literally text messaging producers, employers, from top to bottom levels.
00:07:15Like, y'all know what the fuck you saw.
00:07:18People were scared.
00:07:20If you know enough, you likely would be reasonable in being scared.
00:07:27What did they fear?
00:07:28Anything you possibly could, Harvey.
00:07:31A flat tire, being murdered, I don't know.
00:07:35There's a lot of things people fear.
00:07:37People don't like to go after a powerful person unless they're sure they will be victorious.
00:07:42Because if you go after a powerful person and it doesn't work out,
00:07:46as Omar from The Wire said, you know, you come for the king, you best not miss.
00:07:49And people don't want to miss, because if you miss, that means you're shut out of the music industry,
00:07:54you might be shut out of Hollywood, you might lose opportunities,
00:07:57and based on some of these rumors, your car might blow up in your driveway.
00:08:01Together, guys.
00:08:02In order to get the warrants, the feds got one of Diddy's ex-girlfriends, Cassie Ventura,
00:08:07to describe how Diddy was involved in various criminal misdeeds.
00:08:11Others who recently filed lawsuits against Diddy did the same.
00:08:14When we see, though, the Southern District of New York get involved in the way that they have,
00:08:19with obviously having a search warrant, which means probable cause, multi-agencies involved,
00:08:24it tells me that there's something that we perhaps do not know yet,
00:08:28whether that's cooperating witnesses or whether that's allegations that are beyond what's currently in the public domain,
00:08:34something that has given them the indication to launch this investigation at this broad of a scale.
00:08:40Based on the lawsuits and the federal search warrants that a judge signed,
00:08:48you know, alleging human trafficking, firearms violations, sexual assault, all these other things,
00:08:55does any of that surprise you?
00:08:58No. I knew all of that was going on. I've known the whole time.
00:09:04I know what's gone on. A whole lot of people do, Harvey.
00:09:13It's a stunning downfall. At 54, Diddy had it all. Wealth, fame, power.
00:09:21The key to the city!
00:09:25But Cassie's lawsuit led to a cavalcade of other lawsuits and allegations that have rebranded the mogul
00:09:33as an alleged sex-crazed predator who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted.
00:09:40Diddy wasn't home when the raids went down.
00:09:43He was at a small Miami airport where he was set to leave for a vacation.
00:09:48He was questioned briefly by authorities and released.
00:09:51TMZ captured these images of Diddy pacing nervously after the encounter.
00:09:56I guess you wonder what's going to happen next, Diddy. I know.
00:10:05Diddy wasn't arrested that day, but a member of his entourage was.
00:10:0925-year-old Brendan Paul is now charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana candy.
00:10:15What's up, Pop? How you doing?
00:10:17How you doing, Diddy?
00:10:18Good, good, man.
00:10:20Here's the thing. There were rumblings about Diddy's bad behavior for years,
00:10:26from drugs to physical abuse to guns, but none of it derailed his success.
00:10:32He seemed invincible.
00:10:36I'm the best. I'm not the worst. I'm the best.
00:10:40You know what I'm saying?
00:10:41I've had my different things and point of views and stuff like that in the past,
00:10:45but I'm cured now. Love and everything is all right. There you go.
00:10:49But everything may not be all right for Diddy anymore.
00:10:52Once the feds' investigation is complete,
00:10:54Diddy could face charges that could land him in prison for the rest of his life.
00:10:59Music mogul Sean Diddy Combs, accused of sex trafficking and sexual assault
00:11:03in a lawsuit filed in federal court here in New York.
00:11:07Cassie describing the music mogul as a vicious, cruel, and controlling man,
00:11:11saying she was trapped and held down by Combs.
00:11:14Cassie Ventura, a former New York City police officer,
00:11:17has been charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana candy.
00:11:20Diddy is charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana candy.
00:11:25She was trapped and held down by Combs.
00:11:27Cassie Ventura was Diddy's on-and-off-again girlfriend for a decade,
00:11:32and her allegations turned Diddy's world upside down.
00:11:45Cassie filed a lawsuit in November 2023,
00:11:48and that was the catalyst for the federal investigation
00:11:52and those military-style raids.
00:11:54How unusual is it for the feds to kind of have their eyes opened
00:11:59by civil litigation, which seems to have happened here?
00:12:02Well, it's certainly important for the feds, the Department of Justice,
00:12:05to have their eyes open to what's going on around them.
00:12:07With the Department of Homeland Security involved,
00:12:10that indicates that this goes beyond the border,
00:12:12and that tells me that the Department of Justice and the investigators in this case
00:12:16may have inclinations or information about
00:12:19that has led to the massive scale of this investigation.
00:12:24Cassie was a 19-year-old singer
00:12:26when Diddy signed her to his Bad Boy record label shortly after they met.
00:12:45Cassie's self-titled album was released in 2006.
00:12:48About a year later, her relationship with Diddy became romantic.
00:12:54In her lawsuit, Cassie claimed Diddy quickly lured her
00:12:57into an ostentatious, fast-paced and drug-fueled lifestyle.
00:13:00She said Diddy gave her copious amounts of drugs, including opiates and ecstasy.
00:13:12Cassie claimed Diddy was often violent,
00:13:14forced her to carry a gun in her purse.
00:13:17She says in 2012, Diddy became enraged
00:13:20when he heard about a brief relationship she had with rapper Kid Cudi
00:13:23during a rough patch with Diddy.
00:13:25Diddy threatened to blow up Kid Cudi's car.
00:13:27Kid Cudi confirmed his car had been blown up in his driveway.
00:13:37In 2015, Cassie claims a severely intoxicated Diddy
00:13:41dangled one of her friends off a 17th floor hotel balcony.
00:13:46The complaint going on to accuse Combs of uncontrollable rage,
00:13:49alleging that he often punched, beat, kicked and stomped on her,
00:13:53then allegedly used his money to hide evidence of abuse,
00:13:57including putting Ventura up in a hotel for days to heal.
00:14:01Cassie described one violent incident
00:14:03where Diddy stomped on her face repeatedly,
00:14:05causing her to bleed profusely.
00:14:07She says Diddy's head of security tried to step in, but he was unsuccessful.
00:14:15The allegations against this music mogul are shocking.
00:14:18At one point also, she said that he would force her to interact sexually with escorts
00:14:24and he would watch himself and enjoy himself and pleasure himself while watching her.
00:14:29They were called freak-offs. Very interesting term.
00:14:32I've never witnessed that type of behavior.
00:14:35I don't know what a man do in his bedroom or nothing like that.
00:14:38They was rocking together.
00:14:42From what I know.
00:14:44All I know is they both was rock stars living their best life in a relationship.
00:14:50Cassie claims she only participated in those freak-off encounters
00:14:54because she was afraid she'd be beaten if she refused.
00:14:58Cassie also claimed near the end of their relationship,
00:15:01Diddy forced his way into her home and raped her.
00:15:15All of the Diddy controversy exploded because of the Cassie lawsuit.
00:15:20Once Cassie files that civil suit, now people feel like it's not rumor or innuendo anymore.
00:15:26You have somebody who was in a publicly known relationship with him for a very long time.
00:15:33And when that person is making allegations about freak-offs
00:15:36and when that person is talking about different types of potentially criminal activity that's being alleged,
00:15:41now people believe it.
00:15:43One of the biggest legal blunders of all time was when Cassie threatened a lawsuit
00:15:48unless Diddy paid her $30 million.
00:15:52He told her to pound sand, never believing she'd do it.
00:15:56But she did.
00:15:58Diddy's lawyer insisted Cassie was blackmailing his client.
00:16:02But that lawsuit opened Pandora's box.
00:16:06Social media, especially TikTok, went crazy.
00:16:09And in a nanosecond, Diddy's reputation was trashed.
00:16:12Ooh, Diddy, you are in trouble.
00:16:15The stuff that he made her do is sick.
00:16:19I hope Cassie gets the justice that she deserves.
00:16:23Diddy, you are going to prison.
00:16:25Honey, Cassie has bought the receipts on Diddy, honey.
00:16:29And she's suing him for the things he's done to her.
00:16:32Diddy tried to stop the bleeding by settling with Cassie just a day after she filed.
00:16:38His lawyer said it was not an admission of wrongdoing, but the damage was done.
00:16:43Diddy's most egregious and fatal error strategically
00:16:47was not settling with Cassie behind closed doors.
00:16:50If he settles with Cassie behind closed doors,
00:16:52there's a good chance that none of this controversy is happening.
00:16:55There's a good chance that other people wouldn't have their own lawsuits pile on.
00:17:00There's a good chance law enforcement wouldn't have had their radars activated
00:17:04by all the allegations of illegal activity.
00:17:07There's a chance that Diddy would just be living his normal billionaire life right now.
00:17:11What more do I have to do, man? Look at my hat, man.
00:17:14Look at my hat. Look how I show up on the Murphy Coast beat.
00:17:19It looked like she put so much information out into the streets that embarrassed you
00:17:23that you didn't want any more of it to come out.
00:17:25And because of that, Diddy looks more guilty than he did
00:17:27had he just settled behind closed doors from the beginning.
00:17:29If she said that he did it, he did it.
00:17:31Did you read the things that he did to her?
00:17:36He did it going to jail.
00:17:39Yeah, he going to jail.
00:17:41When the lawsuit happened, it started a domino effect.
00:17:44But also what was said in the lawsuit was really the part that took people by surprise
00:17:48because of the rape allegations, of the sex trafficking allegations,
00:17:51of the abuse that she went into detail about.
00:17:54It was very much like, oh, this is definitely the one that's going to shake the table
00:17:59and shake his foundation.
00:18:01Suddenly, it was like everyone was just coming out of the woodwork.
00:18:04I was sick. I was sick of you.
00:18:06I was sick of everything that was going on around you.
00:18:09I was sick of having to cover up everything that you did.
00:18:12When Cassie found the strength to use her voice and speak her truth,
00:18:16it gave other people the courage to do the same.
00:18:19And I think that's also just kind of how this reckoning came to be.
00:18:23If one person has a power and has the ability to be honest and tell their story,
00:18:29then it allows other people to do the same.
00:18:31In fact, at least three other women came forward and filed lawsuits.
00:18:35Joy Dickerson-Neal claimed Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her 33 years ago
00:18:40and secretly recorded the encounter and then shared it with others.
00:18:45Liza Gardner claimed Diddy raped her and a friend in 1990.
00:18:50And another woman who refused to be named claimed Diddy and two other men
00:18:54gang raped her when she was just 17.
00:18:57Diddy is now facing another very serious lawsuit.
00:19:01And, you know, this all started with the Cassie lawsuit.
00:19:05And then there were two more accusers.
00:19:08An anonymous accuser, as a Jane Doe, filed it in federal court today.
00:19:13And her allegation goes back to 2003.
00:19:16It was bad for Diddy.
00:19:18Four women had come forward within three weeks in November and December 2023.
00:19:24Diddy himself finally released a statement saying, and this is a quote,
00:19:29enough is enough.
00:19:31For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently
00:19:34and watched people try to assassinate my character,
00:19:38destroy my reputation and my legacy.
00:19:41Sickening allegations have been made against me
00:19:45by individuals looking for a quick payday.
00:19:48Diddy's response to all these lawsuits has been,
00:19:51they're coming after my money, everybody's an extortionist.
00:19:53That's not entirely untrue.
00:19:55I mean, everybody connected to him in these lawsuits has made money off of him.
00:19:59They've expected payment from him.
00:20:01But because somebody pays your bills doesn't mean that they're entitled to do harm to you.
00:20:05It doesn't mean that they're entitled to exploit you or abuse you or otherwise mistreat you.
00:20:10So, yes, people might want more money from you,
00:20:13but it doesn't mean you're off the hook.
00:20:16New allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Sean Diddy Combs.
00:20:24On February 26th, 2024, yet another lawsuit was filed against Diddy,
00:20:29this one from Rodney Leroy Jones,
00:20:31one of Diddy's former producers and videographers.
00:20:34And the allegations were even more shocking.
00:20:40He is alleging, groping, fondling, grooming,
00:20:44and he goes on and on about going to a party
00:20:47where he says he was drugged and allegedly raped.
00:20:51Rodney Leroy Jones worked with Diddy for about a year starting in 2022.
00:20:55He claims he recorded hundreds of hours of video and audio
00:20:59of Diddy, his staff and others engaging in serious illegal activity.
00:21:04Everybody's telling me what he's allegedly capable of,
00:21:07and, you know, it's very scary for myself
00:21:13and, you know, it has me worried about my kids
00:21:15and, you know, just sleeping with anxiety and different things like that.
00:21:20So just moving forward,
00:21:23just want to pause on everything until we know that it's clear
00:21:27and safe for me to come back outside of work.
00:21:30Jones claims he has irrefutable evidence depicting, among other things,
00:21:35Diddy's illicit drug use and unregistered firearms.
00:21:39Jones also claims he witnessed Diddy and other famous rappers
00:21:42consorting with underage girls and sex workers,
00:21:45and the lawsuit alleges Diddy kept three sex workers on a monthly retainer,
00:21:49including Daphne Joy, who has a son with Diddy's nemesis, 50 Cent.
00:21:54Daphne denies the claim.
00:22:01And here's the clincher.
00:22:03Jones alleges he was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Diddy.
00:22:07It's usually rare that a male would step forward
00:22:10and accuse someone of sexual assault
00:22:13and, you know, participating in freak-offs and things of that nature.
00:22:17When he came forward, it definitely added to the disturbing claims
00:22:22that Diddy was already up against.
00:22:24It's just now, from a male perspective,
00:22:26as someone who worked closely with him on his last album...
00:22:29Whoa!
00:22:31What's up, Diddy?
00:22:32I want to tell anyone out there watching,
00:22:36this is not about his sexuality.
00:22:39That has been a big focus highlighted everywhere.
00:22:42I think that Puffy is not man enough to come out
00:22:45and simply say he's bisexual.
00:22:47Bisexual, black male, sex cult.
00:22:50Do you want to know what the judicial system cares about?
00:22:53Crimes.
00:22:54They don't care if a man has sex with a man, a woman or 18 women.
00:22:57And I believe in the justice system,
00:22:59and the justice system doesn't raid anyone's home over their sexuality.
00:23:03NBC is learning exclusively that the music producer
00:23:05accusing Diddy of sexual assault and harassment
00:23:08is also accusing actor Cuba Gooding Jr.
00:23:11Now he's saying Gooding groped and fondled him
00:23:13while they were on Combs' yacht.
00:23:15His case got more holes than a Jamaican's shirt.
00:23:19Little Rod is a frog, man.
00:23:21You know, he don't got no legs to stand on.
00:23:24This is merely an extortion attempt by him and his lawyer.
00:23:28That's all I can say.
00:23:31Diddy attorney Sean Holley told TMZ in a statement,
00:23:35Little Rod is nothing more than a liar
00:23:37who filed a $30 million lawsuit
00:23:40shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday.
00:23:43His reckless name dropping about events that are pure fiction
00:23:46and simply did not happen
00:23:48is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines.
00:23:52In fact, TMZ has learned
00:23:54there are some big problems with Rodney Jones' lawsuit.
00:23:58For one, it was filed by an attorney named Tyrone Blackburn
00:24:03who is under the microscope
00:24:05of a federal disciplinary committee in New York.
00:24:08A judge who ordered that committee
00:24:10to look into Blackburn's tactics
00:24:12said the lawyer had shown a pattern of filing,
00:24:15and this is a quote,
00:24:17cases in federal court to garner media attention,
00:24:21embarrass defendants with salacious allegations,
00:24:25and pressure defendants to settle quickly.
00:24:28Another big problem, Jones included in the lawsuit
00:24:31a screen grab he claimed was Diddy's producer
00:24:34and close friend Stevie J having sex with another man.
00:24:38But apparently it wasn't Stevie J.
00:24:41The photo is definitely not myself, you know what I'm saying?
00:24:44This lie's been ongoing for a long time.
00:24:47A guy from the LGBT community, a porn star, he raised his hand.
00:24:51He said, that's my dirty work. That ain't my work.
00:24:54That's cool if dudes do that, but that's not my thing.
00:24:57I like to embrace a nice woman with, you know.
00:25:00I wasn't mad, it's just like,
00:25:02for the hard work I put in for these 30 years in this industry,
00:25:06this is what I got to resort to,
00:25:08watching this, my kids got to see this, my mom got to see this.
00:25:17It seemed much more like a tell-all rag book
00:25:20than it did an actual civil lawsuit.
00:25:23When you combine how bizarre the lawsuit looked
00:25:26with his attorney being a little bit sketchy
00:25:29in terms of the kind of cases he takes up,
00:25:31it felt like it could be a bit of revenge
00:25:33combined with legitimate concern.
00:25:39With all the allegations and a federal investigation
00:25:42that seems to be closing in on Diddy,
00:25:44you'd think it's over for him.
00:25:46But don't count him out just yet.
00:25:49Diddy has dodged bullets before, and lots of them.
00:25:53This is not Combs' first run-in with the law.
00:25:56He was arrested in April for assaulting a record executive.
00:25:59Combs testified before a grand jury this week.
00:26:02Combs was arrested at the university's
00:26:04Acosta Athletic Training Complex for assault.
00:26:07He also had run-ins with the law,
00:26:10accused of assaulting a photographer.
00:26:12He's been having controversies since the early 90s,
00:26:16and he's never been convicted of any serious crimes.
00:26:19He's been in lots of allegations, lots of accusations.
00:26:22His first bout with trouble was way back in 1991.
00:26:25Diddy co-promoted an event in New York City.
00:26:27The number of folks who showed up
00:26:29was nearly twice the capacity for the venue,
00:26:31resulting in a stampede that led to 9 deaths and 29 injuries.
00:26:36The things I deal with can't no way measure up
00:26:38to the pain that the families deal with.
00:26:40And I just pray for the families,
00:26:43and I pray for the children that lost their lives.
00:26:46Diddy was at the center of a violent incident again
00:26:49in December 1999,
00:26:51and this time, one of the biggest stars on the planet
00:26:54would be pulled into the fray.
00:26:56Police say Lopez and Combs were picked up,
00:26:58along with his bodyguard and driver,
00:27:00fleeing a shooting in a Manhattan nightclub
00:27:02that left three people injured.
00:27:04Diddy was dating Jennifer Lopez.
00:27:06One night, he took her out to a New York City nightclub
00:27:08when all hell broke loose.
00:27:11Eventually, J-Lo and Diddy were out partying
00:27:14with a couple of his friends.
00:27:16Their friends shined another rapper,
00:27:18and an altercation ensued.
00:27:20Shots were fired.
00:27:22I feel terrible that people were hurt that night.
00:27:25Puffy's talking about the shooting inside Club New York
00:27:28in the wee hours of Monday morning.
00:27:30Three people were shot.
00:27:32None of them received life-threatening injuries.
00:27:34Police say after the shooting,
00:27:36Puffy and his equally famous girlfriend,
00:27:38actress-singer Jennifer Lopez,
00:27:40fled in a Lincoln Navigator.
00:27:42Three people were shot and injured.
00:27:44Diddy, J-Lo, and a bodyguard named Anthony Wolfe-Jones
00:27:47were later arrested, charged, and hauled into jail.
00:27:53Mr. Combs feels very confident.
00:27:55Mr. Combs is not guilty.
00:27:57He is focused.
00:27:59He wants the trial to start,
00:28:01and he is confident that when it's over,
00:28:03we'll be standing out here telling you
00:28:05that he's just been acquitted.
00:28:07Diddy was found not guilty.
00:28:09Mr. Shine was convicted of assault
00:28:11and reckless endangerment.
00:28:13He served nine years in prison, but questions linger.
00:28:16Was it actually Diddy who pulled the trigger?
00:28:19And did Shine just take the fall?
00:28:21I literally watched them pull out the guns.
00:28:24I've had a clear point of view.
00:28:26I mean, for God's sake, I got shot in my nose.
00:28:29I was facing them directly.
00:28:30I watched everything occur
00:28:32and have described it, you know, vehemently
00:28:35to all parties involved.
00:28:37I have nine bullet fragments remaining in my face.
00:28:40Diddy arrested for making terrorist threats at UCLA.
00:28:45It involves his son.
00:28:47It involves a very famous football coach
00:28:50and an altercation that ended up with Diddy
00:28:53holding a kettlebell.
00:28:55And the question, was he trying to hit this coach
00:28:58with a kettlebell, or was he trying to defend himself?
00:29:03The one thing you got to do is
00:29:05you have to be there for your kids 110%.
00:29:08So as a father, if you feel, or a mother,
00:29:10anybody can relate to if you feel like you have to go
00:29:14and straighten something out for your child.
00:29:16Was there a kettlebell involved?
00:29:18I went there to communicate.
00:29:20Diddy was charged with three counts of assault
00:29:23with a deadly weapon,
00:29:24one count of making terrorist threats,
00:29:27and one count of battery.
00:29:28But the DA wound up dropping the case.
00:29:31He kind of just has a way of getting out
00:29:33of very tough situations,
00:29:35and he's been doing so for decades.
00:29:37Rapper and songwriter Mark Curry
00:29:39worked with Diddy for nearly a decade
00:29:41and says Diddy definitely has an ugly side.
00:29:44I've seen Puff have anger spazzes on producers, females.
00:29:50I'm a savage!
00:29:51Whatever I want, I'm going to get!
00:29:53Whatever I want, I have to get!
00:29:55A&Rs, people who work for him.
00:29:58So not just the females, it's guys, producers.
00:30:01I've seen them spaz.
00:30:02Curry remembers a particularly nasty incident
00:30:05between Diddy and the mother of four of his children,
00:30:08Kim Porter.
00:30:09You saw him get physical with Kim?
00:30:12I didn't see him get physical with Kim,
00:30:14but I know situations where, let's say,
00:30:17if Kim says she fell on a boat and broke her nose,
00:30:21and I say that's not actually what happened.
00:30:24She went into her, and she just got a broke nose.
00:30:26I think her and Puff went to home together,
00:30:28and then next thing you know, she had the Band-Aid on.
00:30:31So you already know what happened.
00:30:33So she didn't, you say, she slip and she fell.
00:30:35No, I don't think that,
00:30:36because they was just arguing real big last night.
00:30:39He was really mad.
00:30:40Kim Porter died of pneumonia in 2018,
00:30:43but she was just one of a long list of women
00:30:46who were allegedly abused by Diddy.
00:30:48Ex-girlfriend Gina Wynn went public with this story in 2019.
00:30:53He, like, stomped on my stomach, like, really hard,
00:30:57and I, like, took the wind out of my breath.
00:30:59I couldn't even, I couldn't breathe,
00:31:01and he kept, but he kept hitting me,
00:31:03and I was, like, pleading to him, like,
00:31:05can you just, can you stop?
00:31:08I can't breathe.
00:31:09And he, like, stopped for a little bit.
00:31:12He, like, grabbed my hair from the back
00:31:14and, like, was, like, punching the back of my head,
00:31:18because he was just avoiding my face
00:31:21when he was, like, hitting me.
00:31:22Diddy's attorney calls Wynn's allegations
00:31:26false and unsubstantiated.
00:31:28If Puff put his hands on a female,
00:31:30he would do it behind a closed door,
00:31:33and when the door opened, you would be like,
00:31:35wow, somebody has on a bandage.
00:31:37Did you ever see anything like that,
00:31:39where somebody came out of a room
00:31:41looking injured or upset like that?
00:31:43Yeah, you go in the room, you walk in,
00:31:45you come out not looking the way you went in.
00:31:48Diddy's legal team tells TMZ
00:31:50Mr. Curry's statements about what he thinks
00:31:53probably occurred between Mr. Combs and Ms. Porter
00:31:56are pure speculation
00:31:57and not based on any personal observations or knowledge.
00:32:02More money, more problems.
00:32:04It's just the way it is.
00:32:05Hey, we're coming back to you, Billy.
00:32:17Before the latest allegations came to light,
00:32:20Diddy was known as one of the most powerful
00:32:23and successful stars in music.
00:32:25His rags-to-riches story? Extraordinary.
00:32:32Sean Combs had a rough childhood growing up in Harlem.
00:32:35His mother worked with kids with special needs,
00:32:38his father a drug dealer.
00:32:40Diddy was exposed to crime and violence early on.
00:32:43When he was just three years old,
00:32:45his father was shot and killed
00:32:47while sitting in a car in New York City.
00:32:49But Diddy maintains his drive for success came from his dad.
00:33:12That swag landed him an internship
00:33:14at a record company at age 20.
00:33:17And he quickly started moving up the ranks.
00:33:32He was driven, he was passionate, he was motivated.
00:33:36He knew what he wanted out of the gate.
00:33:43He knew that he was going to be on top.
00:33:46He has his struggle of an upbringing
00:33:48and then he comes out and he's this ferocious beast
00:33:51and he wants to just dominate the industry.
00:34:04He had his first number one hit
00:34:05on the Billboard hip-hop charts in 1997
00:34:08with Can't Nobody Hold Me Down
00:34:10and would go on to earn the top spot ten more times.
00:34:16You can even do it slow.
00:34:17Either way you want to go.
00:34:19Either way you want to go.
00:34:21Drop some, move some, shake your tail, fella.
00:34:24I take pride in being one of the, you know,
00:34:26most successful producers in hip-hop history.
00:34:30You know, I have the most number ones as a hip-hop artist.
00:34:33Add to that three Grammys and in 2023,
00:34:36the MTV Video Music Awards Global Icon Award.
00:34:39Nobody deserves to be called an icon more than this man.
00:34:43Diddy, Pump Daddy, love!
00:34:50But conquering the music world wasn't enough for Diddy.
00:34:53He became a one-man marketing machine.
00:34:57The new collection is great.
00:35:02You're watching Revolt.
00:35:03Revolt.
00:35:04Revolt.
00:35:05Revolt.
00:35:09Sir Rock is for the culture.
00:35:11I feel like he always knew in the back of his mind, like,
00:35:13his end goal was to be a mogul.
00:35:16All this has made Diddy very, very rich.
00:35:20His estimated net worth, close to a billion dollars.
00:35:27Diddy has lived a life of extravagance.
00:35:30Multiple homes.
00:35:32Planes.
00:35:33Black excellence.
00:35:35Yachts.
00:35:36Cars.
00:35:38And of course...
00:35:39Put the motherfucking sun in the air.
00:35:44Those legendary parties.
00:36:06I would hang out and watch him throw parties.
00:36:09Sure, he famously threw his, like, his white party out.
00:36:12He would throw parties.
00:36:13One point, I went to Philly, followed him all the way to Philly.
00:36:15He threw a party, and he said,
00:36:17yo, playboy, this party costs a million and a half dollars.
00:36:20They're actually fun parties.
00:36:22A lot of famous people start it,
00:36:24be sometimes amazed by some of the people that you see there.
00:36:28Some of the people who attended the parties
00:36:32have said that there was a lot of sex during these parties,
00:36:37and that kind of opens the door to some of the allegations
00:36:40that we've been reading about.
00:36:41What about that?
00:36:42So, there was a lot of sex, but it didn't happen at the party.
00:36:46It was after parties, not necessarily at the party.
00:36:49Now, what time would your party start, let's say?
00:36:51Like 9.30.
00:36:52Really? That early?
00:36:53Yeah.
00:36:54I could make that.
00:36:55Yeah.
00:36:56But I think, I could think of you of starting a party at, like, midnight.
00:37:00Like, what time will it go till?
00:37:02That's a different type of party, though.
00:37:03Uh-huh.
00:37:04No, I mean the after party.
00:37:06Oh, I know about them.
00:37:07Um...
00:37:09There have always been whispers and rumblings about Diddy.
00:37:13The whisperings and rumblings, though, weren't about criminal activity.
00:37:16They were simply about his party lifestyle.
00:37:18They were about his social activities,
00:37:20and maybe even his sexual activities.
00:37:22There's always been whispers and rumors and innuendo.
00:37:24But, like many things in Hollywood, it was on a need-to-know basis.
00:37:27Those who knew, knew, and many fans and everyday people,
00:37:30especially before social media,
00:37:32were completely in the dark about what was going on.
00:37:34What up, boss? How's it going, Diddy?
00:37:36Nice to see you, sir.
00:37:38Easy.
00:37:39Over time, however, we've come to see more, hear more, and know more.
00:37:48Aubrey O'Day sounded the alarm for years that Diddy was a dangerous man.
00:37:52She was dismissed as disgruntled and bitter.
00:37:56A lot of people now think Aubrey was telling the truth all along.
00:38:01After Cassie filed her lawsuit,
00:38:04you said, been trying to tell y'all for years.
00:38:08What were you trying to tell people?
00:38:10That Diddy was not a safe human and that you should be careful
00:38:15if you're planning on entering any type of relationship with him,
00:38:20from business to personal.
00:38:22And this was based on your personal experience?
00:38:26Yes.
00:38:27Did he ever mistreat you?
00:38:30Yes.
00:38:31Have you ever seen Making the Band?
00:38:33Yes.
00:38:35Did he ever mistreat you is the funniest question I think I've ever heard.
00:38:39Of course.
00:38:40Aubrey worked under Diddy for close to five years
00:38:43as a member of the girl group Danity King.
00:38:55And she was famously fired from the group by Diddy on Making the Band.
00:38:59You want to show all your skin.
00:39:01You want to be naked.
00:39:02You're not happy.
00:39:03You hate me.
00:39:04Then why you have me here?
00:39:05I don't have to have you here.
00:39:06That's one thing that we can make clear.
00:39:07That's one thing we can make clear.
00:39:08I don't have to have you here.
00:39:09I want to know why do you have me here.
00:39:11Because every time she smiles, that's a problem.
00:39:13Check this out.
00:39:14You clear on that.
00:39:15You understand now.
00:39:16I'm asking myself why do I have you here.
00:39:18I'm going to tell you right this.
00:39:19I don't like her energy.
00:39:20I don't like her style and direction where she's going with it.
00:39:23I don't like what she does to the brand when she's wilding out there,
00:39:26being overly raunchy, promiscuous.
00:39:29There's nothing else to talk about.
00:39:31Would you like to go with her?
00:39:32Because she's not going to be in Danny King.
00:39:35The mistreatment is enough to have changed the course and direction of my entire life.
00:39:42The mistreatment was enough for me to have to spend a good amount of time
00:39:47in the hands of professionals to learn what grooming is and unlearn the grooming.
00:39:54The treatment was so bad in some regards that I'm not ready to speak about it yet.
00:40:00But I will.
00:40:02Are you talking verbal, physical, or both?
00:40:08That's not a question that I'm prepared to dive into right now.
00:40:15But I can say this, as that seems to be a question that a lot of people love to ask.
00:40:23Does it matter?
00:40:25I've been in physically abusive situations.
00:40:28The verbal ones hurt me way more.
00:40:31The abuse was significant enough to change the course of my life.
00:40:38I don't work these amount of years to have you talk to me this way.
00:40:41I'm not meaning to disrespect you.
00:40:42So I don't want you in the group no more.
00:40:44All right?
00:40:45Because I don't want to even have to have this conversation.
00:40:48On making the band alone, we experienced intimidation tactics.
00:40:53We experienced body shaming, beatdowns.
00:40:57And then when we thought we were absolutely nothing,
00:41:00and I'm talking from sleep deprivation to bunkers,
00:41:03it was very like training us to be good soldiers.
00:41:07Do you feel that he was looking for young people who never had a frame of reference like you
00:41:16where it would be easier to do whatever you say he did?
00:41:21I can't tell you his intentions because I don't live inside that man's brain.
00:41:25I never plan to, and I pray I never go anywhere close to what that is.
00:41:30Everything is just always about Diddy, and whatever Diddy's narrative is over there,
00:41:35you're being told it from every angle.
00:41:37When you meet a person that is an excellent groomer,
00:41:43what happens is they start to let you know what's wrong with you.
00:41:49That starts to make you question the things that you believe about yourself.
00:41:53Can I ask a question?
00:41:54What do you want to look like, though?
00:41:56Do you want to look like a Playboy playmate?
00:41:58Do you want to look like you?
00:41:59I'm done with all of that.
00:42:00No, no, no.
00:42:01What do you want to look like, though?
00:42:02I'll tell you.
00:42:03What do you want to look like?
00:42:04You like big hair, though.
00:42:05I don't like big hair.
00:42:06You do like big hair.
00:42:07You like big hair.
00:42:08You like a lot of makeup and all that.
00:42:10Diddy's narrative of me, promiscuous, problematic, all that rah-rah,
00:42:16you know, the bad, all the negatives,
00:42:18that's why the only offer I had after being fired on national television
00:42:22in front of the world as a child came from Hugh Hefner.
00:42:26And it was to do the cover of Playboy.
00:42:29I had to work very hard to get anyone to give me an opportunity.
00:42:34I notice you have a Dan and D.K. necklace on.
00:42:37I'm wondering how you process Dan and D.K.,
00:42:42which in so many ways gave opportunities but is so connected to Diddy.
00:42:48Does that make you sad?
00:42:50Can you distinguish between Diddy and your success there?
00:42:57Or is it all just so intertwined?
00:43:00Complex question.
00:43:02Quickest answer, if you do enough work on yourself,
00:43:06you can get to a place where you will be able to distinguish yourself
00:43:10from abusers and toxic situations.
00:43:14Anyone out there that has gone through that or is in that right now,
00:43:17please hear me, resonate with me in this moment.
00:43:23You can distinguish every piece of it.
00:43:26You can separate them, and you can pick what parts
00:43:29you are going to carry with you into your future.
00:43:31So I wear this necklace for my ladies out there.
00:43:34I think it's because we were surrounded by a team of men.
00:43:39And I don't know that any of those men ever had our best interests at hand.
00:43:44Last September, Diddy did something to counter some of the rumors
00:43:47he was a monster.
00:43:49I read that you are going to actually give back the publishing rights
00:43:53to a bunch of artists on your label, which is incredible
00:43:55because it's happening at a moment that actually those rights
00:43:58are going for a very high dollar.
00:44:00And many people would keep that money for themselves.
00:44:02Yes, us as a people have to look within and do the right thing.
00:44:05So it was just the right thing to do, and it's reform for the industry
00:44:08and reform for just us as people.
00:44:12You're an incredible human.
00:44:14When TMZ ran the headline, and I have a screenshot of it
00:44:18because I do want to call you out.
00:44:20I received the publishing deal.
00:44:22I know what it says.
00:44:24I know how much money it was giving me.
00:44:26I'll tell you, $300.30.
00:44:30$300.30 for a full release of all claims against Diddy
00:44:35and many other players.
00:44:37Never can disparage Diddy on any social media site,
00:44:40on any podcast, on any format.
00:44:43Never have any rights to any claims again over any type of wrongdoings
00:44:47with your music or with any of these parties listed.
00:44:51Once you sign it, in fact, it said,
00:44:54You can never mention the existence of this contract ever again.
00:44:59What do you think was behind him making a move
00:45:03to return rights for so little at this point in time?
00:45:08What do you think his motivation was there?
00:45:10I think he would probably be making moves
00:45:13to keep as many people quiet as possible.
00:45:17When I went to look at the publishing deal,
00:45:20it said anything but I'm being made whole financially again.
00:45:24In fact, it asked me to not be able to have access
00:45:28to my story and my experience anymore.
00:45:31It asked me specifically to stay silent
00:45:34and never speak poorly about a human.
00:45:38So then I realized something really bad is coming
00:45:43because this isn't a man that was reformed.
00:45:47I'm just not who I am before.
00:45:53I'm something different.
00:45:55So my new name is Love.
00:45:57Do you know what the word love means to everybody?
00:46:02We live and die to find a human on this earth
00:46:06that will genuinely love us.
00:46:09The man took the most beautiful, precious, unreachable words,
00:46:16livable, lifetime words, and put it in his fucking name.
00:46:22Had his publicist send you a lie or a reformation of the truth
00:46:29and everybody maybe signed it and can't talk?
00:46:33I don't know why no one else is coming forward
00:46:35and talking about this, frankly.
00:46:37How do you describe yourself?
00:46:39I'm vivacious, eccentric, and I'm a Scorpio.
00:46:44What's one misconception about you?
00:46:46There are no misconceptions about me.
00:46:48There's no doubt the conversations around Diddy
00:46:50have changed significantly since Cassie's lawsuit came out,
00:46:54and things that may have seemed innocent in the past
00:46:57are now being looked at in an entirely different way.
00:47:01You know, where we hanging out and what we doing,
00:47:04we can't really disclose,
00:47:07but it's definitely a 15-year-old's dream.
00:47:11A video of Diddy with a then-15-year-old Justin Bieber surfaced.
00:47:15It was taken while Bieber was visiting Diddy's home,
00:47:18and given all the new allegations, it seemed, well, a little weird.
00:47:22He signed to Usher.
00:47:24I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album,
00:47:29I did Usher's first album.
00:47:31I don't have legal guardianship of him,
00:47:33but for the next 48 hours, he's with me,
00:47:37and we gonna go full, buck full crazy.
00:47:41We're going crazy.
00:47:42Speculation as to what he saw at Diddy's home
00:47:45ran rampant on social media.
00:47:47Did P. Diddy groom a very young Justin Bieber?
00:47:50And people say it almost looks like Justin Bieber
00:47:52didn't want to be there.
00:47:54It looks like it was completely scripted,
00:47:56and P. Diddy looked completely suspicious.
00:47:58I think it's clear that Justin Bieber definitely looks uncomfortable.
00:48:01Watching it gives me, personally, a very weird pit in my stomach,
00:48:04especially watching it through the lens of all of the accusations against Diddy right now.
00:48:08A few days later, a second bizarre video emerged of Diddy and Justin
00:48:11that just added fuel to the fire.
00:48:14Selling out arenas and everything?
00:48:16Starting to act different, huh?
00:48:18You ain't been calling me and hanging out the way we used to hang out.
00:48:21Well, I mean, you try to get in contact with me through all my partners and whatnot,
00:48:27but you never really got my number.
00:48:31Then another video resurfaced and raised eyebrows.
00:48:35Usher talking to Howard Stern about what he saw when he moved in with Diddy
00:48:40when he was just 13.
00:48:42His manager sent him there to learn what life as a star was all about.
00:48:47I went there to see the lifestyle.
00:48:49And I saw it.
00:48:51But I don't know if I could indulge and understand what I was even looking at.
00:48:55Biggie Smalls was there.
00:48:56Biggie Smalls was there.
00:48:58Lil' Kim.
00:48:59Craig Mack.
00:49:00All these people are hanging around.
00:49:02Yeah, man.
00:49:03Faith Evans.
00:49:04And your parents were okay?
00:49:06Mary J. Blige.
00:49:07They didn't know nothing about this shit.
00:49:08Oh.
00:49:09I was having a good time, you know what I mean?
00:49:11But Usher later expressed concern about what he was exposed to
00:49:16when he was living with Diddy.
00:49:18I mean, I'm 13 years old.
00:49:20I'm not here to party with you.
00:49:21I don't want to go to the clubs.
00:49:22Matter of fact, I'm too young to even be in here.
00:49:24Why you got me in clubs?
00:49:27There were a lot of things I seen and a lot of positions that I think I was put in
00:49:31where I had to make very, very tough decisions in my life about who I would be.
00:49:35Usher and Bieber have not commented on the latest allegations,
00:49:38but other artists have taken Diddy to task.
00:49:4150 Cent, who's tangled with him for years, tweeted,
00:49:44It's not Diddy do it.
00:49:46It's Diddy done.
00:49:48He's corny.
00:49:50He's Uncle Tom.
00:49:51That's who Curtis is.
00:49:53I don't want to see the black man go down before anybody else.
00:49:56You know what I'm saying?
00:49:58He's just sore.
00:50:00He's just sore because his baby mother is with Puff.
00:50:03Don't be sore.
00:50:05Don't be a hater.
00:50:06You know what I'm saying?
00:50:07Get greater.
00:50:09So with him, he's just a troll.
00:50:17Mary J. Blige, a friend of Diddy's for 30 years, posted,
00:50:21Unfortunately, a lot of you all met me when I lacked boundaries
00:50:24and was a people pleaser.
00:50:26Let me reintroduce myself.
00:50:27I burn bridges as needed.
00:50:29Apparently referring to her own experience with Diddy.
00:50:32Diddy has befriended some of the biggest names in entertainment
00:50:51for decades.
00:50:53Yet none of those stars have come out to defend him.
00:50:56Not one.
00:50:58So let me say less about Diddy and more about Hollywood.
00:51:03Hollywood is eerily and noticeably quiet about all of the Diddy
00:51:08controversy right now.
00:51:10And I think it's a very simple reason for it.
00:51:13And that is, people in glass houses don't want to throw stones.
00:51:23Even Ashton Kutcher, who met Diddy when they both had shows on MTV
00:51:27and was one of his closest friends, hasn't uttered a peep.
00:51:30The radio silence around this case, in my opinion, is highly unusual.
00:51:36Even if you look at, say, R. Kelly, who's someone who is very much maligned
00:51:40and should be, given what he's been convicted of.
00:51:43He did have supporters early on.
00:51:45Diddy has none.
00:51:47It's crickets.
00:51:48A lot of these cats, they don't have, first of all, they don't have a heart.
00:51:51Second of all, it's like, I can't be seen standing next to him
00:51:55while that's going on.
00:51:56I don't want people to look at me funny.
00:51:59So you got those that just won't come near it
00:52:02because they don't want to be affected.
00:52:05And that's just the way it is.
00:52:07There are a lot of people who are probably implicated in his events,
00:52:11in his activities, even if they're not criminally guilty.
00:52:14They just might have been at a party.
00:52:16They may just have been hanging out.
00:52:18And if he gets attached to something that is considered awful
00:52:21or outside the boundaries of what you're allowed to do,
00:52:23then no one wants to be connected to him at all.
00:52:26Is there another reason why other people aren't speaking out in his defense?
00:52:30I think a lot of people are just trying to understand it,
00:52:32understand what is and what's not, you know?
00:52:35Another reason people aren't coming to Diddy's defense,
00:52:38Diddy was allegedly obsessed with recording everything that went on in his homes.
00:52:42Everything.
00:52:44If they have 250 cameras they took out his house,
00:52:47they have a whole bunch of images or footage of things
00:52:50that were going on around his house.
00:52:52A lot of people might be running from that tape.
00:52:54I don't think it's only celebrities that are going to be shook.
00:52:57He had politicians in there.
00:53:03He had princes in there.
00:53:07He also had a couple of preachers in there.
00:53:13Diddy is a powerful person.
00:53:15You don't get to be a billionaire without being powerful
00:53:18and without being connected to powerful people.
00:53:20So Diddy knows politicians, entertainers, philanthropists, academics.
00:53:26You name it, he's connected to them.
00:53:29And so if we start unraveling the thread of Diddy's networks,
00:53:33you're going to find a lot of people,
00:53:35and like Jeffrey Epstein, some of them might be implicated.
00:53:37Do you find it a little hypocritical that there are a lot of people
00:53:42who are so silent now, who are so quick to canceling others
00:53:46when they're not involved or even remotely associated?
00:53:50There is an interesting contradiction that we are witnessing in real time right now.
00:53:55There are people who are very quick to cancel,
00:53:58people who are very quick to say, lock them up, throw away the key.
00:54:01At the same time, those very same voices are saying nothing about Diddy.
00:54:05Now, it's not because their morals have changed.
00:54:08It's not because their philosophy has shifted.
00:54:10It's a much more simple answer to that.
00:54:12They're scared because they're tied up with him.
00:54:15Some way, somehow.
00:54:17I think there's a possibility that people may fear
00:54:21that somehow he makes it out of this,
00:54:24and if he does, he's probably taking a long list
00:54:28of anybody that's speaking on things.
00:54:31And maybe also because everybody's done things
00:54:36that they wouldn't want people to know,
00:54:40and they fear that involving themselves
00:54:44in a conversation like that puts them at risk.
00:54:47Cassie scared a whole lot of fucking men.
00:54:50There's people wrapping up their business nice and tight now
00:54:54because there are many more.
00:54:57And some people just aren't talking
00:54:59because they're afraid of retaliation from Diddy's adversaries.
00:55:03TMZ was scheduled to do an interview with one of Diddy's former employees
00:55:08for this documentary, one who was actually going to defend him.
00:55:13But they backed out, stating in a text,
00:55:16I'm worried Diddy has many enemies.
00:55:19I'm afraid that if I give my thoughts on what I experienced,
00:55:23I may be ruled a target.
00:55:25I have a comfortable and cozy life.
00:55:28Not sure if I want to disrupt it.
00:55:31But Diddy does have some defenders who aren't afraid to speak out,
00:55:35and one of them is someone you would never, ever expect.
00:55:41Responsibility for the so-called feud between East Coast and West Coast rappers,
00:55:46a feud that allegedly led to the murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G.
00:55:52Rap artists and producers call for an end to the rivalry and the violence.
00:55:57But how long will the peace last?
00:56:00Only time will tell.
00:56:02Diddy and rap executive Suge Knight have been arch enemies for years,
00:56:06East Coast versus West Coast,
00:56:08Diddy's Bad Boy label based in New York,
00:56:10and Suge's Death Row records based in L.A.,
00:56:13a rivalry that was incredibly bitter.
00:56:16Any artist out there who want to be an artist,
00:56:18and want to stay a star,
00:56:20and don't want to have to worry about the executive producer trying to be
00:56:23all in the videos, all on the records,
00:56:27dancing, come to Death Row.
00:56:30I know that it...
00:56:32What?
00:56:33Are they crazy?
00:56:35I was like, wow.
00:56:36And I was like, you know, I could blow this thing up right now, you know?
00:56:39And sometimes it got downright violent.
00:56:42A rivalry so bitter that it's led to the death of two of rap's most successful artists.
00:56:47So you'd think Suge Knight would be reveling in all the allegations against Diddy, right?
00:56:52Wrong.
00:56:54I talked to him on the phone from a California prison
00:56:57where he's serving 28 years for a fatal hit-and-run.
00:57:01And what he told me blew me away.
00:57:05My first reaction,
00:57:07it's not the reaction I thought I would have when the kid in the puppet.
00:57:10You know what I mean?
00:57:11I thought it would be a reaction like,
00:57:13he got what he got coming because everybody knows what's been going on.
00:57:17My reaction was actually different because I felt like, damn,
00:57:21the first thing that came to my mind was, you know,
00:57:24he had his sons.
00:57:26He had his daughters.
00:57:28My reaction was first about the kids.
00:57:30And the thing is,
00:57:32I feel it's a bad day for hip-hop.
00:57:35It's a bad day for the culture.
00:57:37Because it makes us all look bad.
00:57:40I gotta say, I am shocked at what you just said.
00:57:46I thought you were going to almost kind of dance over his troubles now
00:57:53just because of your history.
00:57:55And the grace you're showing toward him and his family,
00:57:59I don't know, it's kind of remarkable to me,
00:58:02given the history of you two guys,
00:58:05what changed with you?
00:58:07I'm not the type of guy to cheer for people's downfall.
00:58:12And if somebody gets killed or something happens to them,
00:58:14I'm not going to pop a champagne bottle.
00:58:17And if I have a problem with a puppy,
00:58:20that's a human eye to sit down in a room and resolve it.
00:58:24So for the tragedy on both sides,
00:58:29the victims, to him,
00:58:31that's definitely not nothing to cheer about.
00:58:33There are so many allegations now of, you know,
00:58:36sex trafficking and drugs and all sorts of things.
00:58:40Did this just come from out of the blue?
00:58:43Or was there kind of a buzz that some of this
00:58:47might have been going on with Diddy for a while,
00:58:50if any of it's true?
00:59:18By telling our truth, we can change the past,
00:59:21and we can help the present, and we can help the future.
00:59:24So if a puppy's telling a story uncut,
00:59:27he can help everyone.
00:59:29Let him tell the truth.
00:59:31Do you think that the silence of people in the music business
00:59:37and in entertainment generally
00:59:39over what's going on with Diddy right now,
00:59:43with all of the allegations and lawsuits,
00:59:45do you think that silence
00:59:47is really kind of rooted more in fear,
00:59:51that they're afraid,
00:59:53oh, my God, I have associations too?
00:59:56Because that's sort of what you just alluded to.
01:00:16But if the feathers flock together, what do you think?
01:00:39One person who could literally hold the key to Diddy's future
01:00:43and freedom is a young man named Brendan Paul.
01:00:48Brendan was the only person arrested and charged
01:00:50on the day of those raids back in March.
01:00:52Authorities say they found cocaine and marijuana candy
01:00:55in his luggage at the airport, where Diddy was questioned.
01:00:58According to Rodney Jones' lawsuit,
01:01:00Brendan is Diddy's drug mule,
01:01:02who allegedly acquires and distributes
01:01:04Mr. Combs' drugs and guns.
01:01:06Jones also claims Brendan was responsible
01:01:09for paying prostitutes for the freak-off parties.
01:01:12I'm particularly interested in Brendan Paul
01:01:15because he's 25 years old,
01:01:17and he's allegedly the one who's obtaining drugs for P. Diddy.
01:01:21It's interesting, such a young guy.
01:01:23I don't know if that indicates that P. Diddy's organization
01:01:26is as large or as complicated
01:01:28as perhaps the feds would need to make it out to be.
01:01:35Only two years out of college,
01:01:37Brendan became part of Diddy's inner circle.
01:01:39On social media, he's seen celebrating
01:01:41at Diddy's latest album release party.
01:01:43Brendan's one of Diddy's assistants.
01:01:45We used to play ball together, kick it.
01:01:48Producer has an artist. He's a pretty cool dude.
01:01:51He and Diddy, you know, he was Diddy's assistant.
01:01:53He was with him all the time, so they had a cool little,
01:01:56you know, relationship, a cool little brotherhood.
01:01:58Brendan was released the day after his arrest on a $2,500 bond.
01:02:02His attorney has refused to comment on the case,
01:02:05but given his proximity to Diddy,
01:02:07authorities are no doubt interested
01:02:09in what he saw behind closed doors.
01:02:11The feds are going to be looking for anybody close to P. Diddy
01:02:15or whoever their targets are in this investigation
01:02:18to essentially turn on the people that they're most focused on.
01:02:22So they're going to be looking to cut deals,
01:02:24they're going to be looking to grant immunity deals.
01:02:26They will be looking for those people
01:02:28around the centre of the orbit to turn on their targets.
01:02:38The feds have their work cut out for them,
01:02:40especially if they want to get Diddy
01:02:42on the more serious charge of sex trafficking.
01:02:45Sex trafficking, when looking at adults involved
01:02:49in a crime of that nature,
01:02:51the feds are required to actually prove
01:02:53that there's force or coercion that's involved
01:02:55in addition to the commercial situation that's going on.
01:02:59So in addition to just payment,
01:03:01they're going to need testimony and evidence
01:03:03that these individuals were actually forced or coerced
01:03:06to engage in these sexual acts or the ongoing sexual business
01:03:10that they're alleging occurred here.
01:03:12I have heard the stories regarding Diddy having prostitutes
01:03:17that willingly want to go with him across state lines,
01:03:20but there's a couple of things that need to be looked at
01:03:22in regards to that.
01:03:24Was there a power dynamic? Were they fearful?
01:03:27Was something making it so that they felt that they needed to
01:03:32or else there would be consequences for not?
01:03:35It just takes one of them to be doing this against their will
01:03:40for that to be human trafficking.
01:03:42One thing that could help the feds,
01:03:44Cassie Ventura can still be compelled
01:03:46to testify against Diddy in federal court,
01:03:48even if she agreed not to talk as part of the settlement.
01:03:52Witnesses can be forced to cooperate.
01:03:54They can be subpoenaed and brought in,
01:03:56and that's something that the feds have the power to do.
01:03:58That goes beyond just the idea that perhaps he's settled lawsuits,
01:04:02for example, with Cassie.
01:04:04She can still be subpoenaed, she can still be brought in
01:04:07and essentially made to tell the truth,
01:04:09and if she doesn't, face her own consequences.
01:04:12In fact, as those raids at Diddy's home were going down,
01:04:15Cassie's lawyer posted on X...
01:04:29I think he's going to have a very difficult time
01:04:31getting out of this one
01:04:33because you've got the magnitude of the federal government now
01:04:36that is coming in, and so in my opinion,
01:04:38it's going to be near impossible for him to get out of.
01:04:41Everybody put your glasses up in the air.
01:04:44Let's take a toast to Sean Cole.
01:04:46If you would have asked me 20 years ago what Diddy's legacy was,
01:04:50I would have said he was one of the stewards
01:04:54of one of the most important and beautiful moments in hip-hop.
01:04:57If you would have asked me 10 years ago
01:04:59what Diddy's legacy was going to be,
01:05:01I would say he was the template for the billionaire rap star.
01:05:06Now, in the aftermath of all these allegations,
01:05:10all these rumours, all these innuendos,
01:05:12I don't know what Diddy's legacy is going to be.
01:05:14It's really still an open question.
01:05:16Everyone who interacts with him has their own version
01:05:19of how they would describe him.
01:05:21To some people, he's a saint.
01:05:23To some people, he is their hero.
01:05:25To some people, he is a monster.
01:05:27I think it's just all about how people interact with him
01:05:32and what they've experienced and witnessed being around him.
01:05:36What would I want people to know about Diddy?
01:05:41That, you know, he's like any other man.
01:05:44He loves his mother,
01:05:47loves his children,
01:05:50takes care of a ton of people,
01:05:53gives jobs to a ton of people.
01:05:56Even when the scenario was going on,
01:05:58with all this is going on,
01:06:00people still call him, asking him for stuff,
01:06:02and he's still there for people.
01:06:04It's like, you know, he's a good dude.
01:06:07Are we all perfect?
01:06:10Nah, none of us.
01:06:14Spread love. I love y'all.
01:06:16Love, love, love, love.
01:06:18Savage! I'm a savage!
01:06:20Without y'all, I wouldn't be on this stage.
01:06:22Go, go, go!
01:06:26I done seen this dude shake back from some stuff, right?
01:06:30So I'm not going to count him out, you know what I'm saying?
01:06:34I'm not going to make a prediction,
01:06:36but I'm going to say, you know,
01:06:39I ain't going to count him out.
01:06:45Anyone on this earth has the ability to be both good and bad,
01:06:50have done good things and bad things.
01:06:52So it's hard to just say, this is a bad guy or this is a good guy.
01:06:56I don't even want to be forced into that place.
01:06:58For all my friends that love to throw the word karma around,
01:07:01my response was always, yeah, good luck.
01:07:04Karma's a poor man's excuse.
01:07:06I know a lot of bad people, and they're not seeing karma.
01:07:09They're getting better and better.
01:07:11They're getting more and more.
01:07:13I witnessed it for years. I never thought I would see this.
01:07:21.
01:07:23.
01:07:25.
01:07:27.
01:07:29.
01:07:31.
01:07:33.
01:07:35.
01:07:37.
01:07:39.
01:07:41.
01:07:43.
01:07:45.
01:07:50.
