When lightning strikes 7 times and appears as an apparition of Saint Anthony, the logical explanation is that divine intervention is guiding lawn owners to mourn what's been lost and renew their faith in nature.

About Kill Your Lawn:
Best friends Joey and Al set out across America to accomplish their mission: carry out a turficidal killing spree and leave a trail of pollinator-friendly, native plant gardens in their wake. It’s time to laugh our way to a lawn-less future!

This clip comes from Season 2, Episode 5: "Saint of Lost Lawns"

00:00He put me in Frank's little house, you know that little spot he's got?
00:06Just before it's time to start ripping up turf, a couple of elderly neighbors passing
00:11by spot something in the grass.
00:14Oh my, do you see that?
00:17Is that St. Anthony?
00:18There is, then I've seen it, I knew where it was.
00:21Oh my God, it's a saintly vision.
00:23We're part of an online community.
00:26We were just passing by on our way home from the grocery store, seeing this amazing apparition.
00:32And it has the patron saint of lost things, God, put him here to guide us, I think.
00:37You know what the biggest sign is that we're lost?
00:39All the grass.
00:40I see a lot of grass.
00:41This lawn was clearly placed in a central location so many could see it, so it could
00:47be a signal to everyone and be led on a new path away from lawns.
00:53We had a lightning storm that evidently struck here about seven or eight times, and it happened
00:56to be in the face of St. Anthony.
00:59And I know a miracle.
01:00This is just like Our Lady of the Kennedy Expressway.
01:03It's a Chicago tradition, it's a Chicago phenomenon.
01:07Our Lady at a diner on Archer that appeared in a pancake batter, and Our Lady at a hash
01:12browns at the Golden Nugget on Western.
01:15Also Our Lady at a beach sands, and Our Lady at a rusted wheel.
01:18I went and saw that in 1989.
01:19And this is the exact same thing.
01:21The two old ladies had so much faith in the apparition of the lawn.
01:27One must also have faith in nature and bring it back.
01:29We didn't know what to do with our yard, we were kind of lost.
01:32Many in the Midwest are lost.
01:34It's really tragic, you know, just a catastrophe.
01:36The lawn represents our lost connection to the natural world.
01:41So of course, St. Anthony, the patron saint of lost things, is who appeared here in Willowbrook.
01:47Let the yard transformation begin.
01:52Plant the seed, make it contagious, and then eventually, you know, you slowly start to
01:56see this kind of mindset that's embodied by the lawn start to wither and die.
