00:00Once upon a time, there lived a mother goat and her seven children.
00:05Now we all know that a baby goat is called a kid,
00:08and that is why this story is called The Wolf and the Seven Kids.
00:14There's the first one, and number two, three, number four, number five, number six, and...
00:22Uh-oh, I wonder what's happened to the littlest kid.
00:27Oh, there he is, hidden in the deep grass.
00:31He was the youngest and therefore the cutest of all the brothers and sisters.
00:42The seven little kids were very happy in their home in the meadow
00:46and spent day after day playing follow the leader and other games.
00:50It was great fun, and the littlest kid did his best to keep up with his older brothers and sisters.
00:55But sometimes he had to take a shortcut or else lose the game.
01:02He might not have been a champion at follow the leader,
01:05but he always won when they played hide and go seek.
01:08He was the smallest and could easily hide behind a rock,
01:13a toadstool,
01:16or even in their mother's pots and pans.
01:20And he was still small enough to paddle around their swimming hole on a lily pad.
01:25Wow, doesn't that look like fun?
01:28And at night, the six older children all slept together in a big wooden bed.
01:34But the littlest kid still slept in a basket tucked away in a corner beside his mother's old rocking chair.
01:41The days and nights passed quickly for the seven kids because they had plenty to eat,
01:46lots of time for play, and no school.
01:49They didn't seem to have a worry in the world.
01:54But one morning, this was all to change.
01:57The sun was shining brightly and the meadow was aglow with wildflowers.
02:02And so the mother goat decided to go into the village to do some shopping.
02:06But before she left, she warned her children to be on their guard.
02:10All right, children, I'll be back before dark.
02:13Just beware of one thing.
02:15We never know when that wicked wolf will come snooping around,
02:18so lock the door and don't open it for anyone.
02:20Okay.
02:22But, Mother, what's a wolf?
02:24You'll know him because he has a voice as rough as gravel and as loud as thunder.
02:29And his feet are as black as coal. Isn't that right, Mommy?
02:32That's right. So if you see those black feet from under our door, don't you dare open it.
02:37All right.
02:39Okay.
02:44And so the mother goat set off for the village,
02:47confident that her children would obey her orders.
02:50But the mother goat wasn't the only one in the meadow that morning.
02:53She was being watched as she left by a very hungry fellow.
03:02I've been waiting a long time for this chance.
03:05My mouth has been watering for some of those delicious goat chops
03:09ever since they were born.
03:12Ha! Ha! Ha!
03:15Ha! Ha! Ha!
03:22Ha! Ha! Ha!
03:27Oh, those poor little kids are so busy playing that they haven't seen the wolf yet.
03:31But at least they remembered to lock the door.
03:36Ha! Ha! Ha!
03:38Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
03:40Ha! Ha! Ha!
03:50Children, it's your mother.
03:53I came home early. Open the door for me, won't you?
03:59Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!
04:02Oh, no, you don't.
04:05Hey, what's keeping you? Open the door! Hurry!
04:08Oh, no, you don't. You don't sound like our mother.
04:11You're the big, bad wolf.
04:14Huh?
04:16Ha! Ha! Ha!
04:32Oh!
04:49Ha! Ha! Ha!
04:57Ha! Ha! Ha!
05:01Ha! Ha! Ha!
05:04Ha! Ha! Ha!
05:08It's your mother, and I am home.
05:11Ah! It's Mommy! She's home!
05:14Mommy!
05:18Hey, fellas, look!
05:23Black feet! That's not Mom!
05:26Hurry and open the door, children!
05:29Oh, no, you don't sound like our mother.
05:32You're the big, bad wolf.
05:35Huh?
05:36Oh!
05:43That wolf was really angry now,
05:46so he went to the barn and stole some flour and began dusting himself all over.
06:00Children, it's your mother, and I've brought you all a present.
06:04Mother? It sounds like Mommy.
06:07I've brought you cookies and cakes and delicious candies.
06:12The feet are white. It is Mother.
06:14Mommy! Mommy!
06:16Mommy!
06:17Mommy!
06:18Mommy!
06:19Mommy!
06:20Mommy!
06:21Mommy!
06:22Mommy!
06:23Mommy!
06:30Ah!
06:33The frightened kids ran here and there, trying to find a place to hide.
06:48But they were all too big, and the wolf would have no trouble finding them.
06:54Ha! Ha! Ha!
06:59Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
07:06Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
07:08Not bad at all! Ha! Ha! Ha!
07:10Who's next?
07:13Gotcha!
07:20Well, what have we here?
07:24Ah! Ha! Ha! Ha!
07:27In no time at all, that wicked wolf had swallowed the little kids.
07:32Huh?
07:33Huh?
07:36I could have sworn I saw a kid come out of that clock.
07:42Hmm.
07:48I just know I saw one go into that clock.
07:52Let's see.
07:53There was one over there.
07:55There was two. There was three.
07:57There was four.
07:59There was five.
08:04I can't remember.
08:07Okay, once again.
08:09There was one. There was two.
08:11There was three.
08:12What time is it?
08:15It's four o'clock.
08:16There was five.
08:17There was six.
08:18There was seven, yeah.
08:21I got them all. They were delicious.
08:24Oh, my goodness.
08:25That was really quick thinking by the littlest kid, wasn't it?
08:29Uh-oh. Here comes the mother goat.
08:32What will she think when she finds that the wolf has eaten six of her children?
08:37Ah!
08:41Children! Children! Oh!
08:44Children! Children!
08:45Mother!
08:46Children!
08:47Oh, thank goodness.
08:48The big bad wolf was here.
08:50Oh, no!
08:52But I played hide-and-seek in the cuckoo clock.
09:00Mama, there's the wolf.
09:02Hurry. Bring the scissors and a needle and thread.
09:04Okay.
09:06Ah!
09:07Ah!
09:08Ah!
09:09Ah!
09:10Ah!
09:13And with a snip, snip, snip,
09:15the mother goat had freed her children from the tummy of that wicked wolf.
09:19Yay!
09:20Oh, yay!
09:27The mother goat was overjoyed to have her children back.
09:30But she knew that that wicked wolf might wake up at any time.
09:34So she stuffed him with as many rocks as she could find and sewed him up tight.
09:41It had been a long time since the wolf had had such a full stomach.
09:45So he slept and he slept the whole night through.
09:51When the wolf awoke the next morning, his throat was still dry from eating all that chalk.
09:56So he staggered to his feet and went off for a drink at the well.
10:01Oh!
10:02Oh!
10:03Oh!
10:04Oh!
10:05Oh!
10:06Oh!
10:07Oh!
10:08Oh!
10:09Oh!
10:10Oh!
10:11Oh!
10:12Oh!
10:13Oh!
10:14Oh!
10:15Oh!
10:16Oh!
10:20And that was the end of the big bad wolf.
10:23After that, the seven little kids never had to worry about him again.
10:27And they played outside every day from morning till night.
10:31Uh-oh!
10:32Where'd that little fella go now?
10:34I'll bet he's playing hide-and-seek with us again.
10:37But we know where he's hiding, don't we?
10:42Ha!
