00:00This Saturday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued the beating of a Filipino who was arrested for murder.

00:08The Migrant Workers Department is now arranging his return home to his relatives.

00:13And Joseph Moro was arrested.

00:18Because of the fight for money, he was killed by a Filipino in Saudi Arabia

00:25who was his partner in Saudi Arabia in 2020.

00:28The victim was asking our fellow countryman for his share in the profits or something.

00:39They had a money dispute and that led to the confrontation.

00:43Pleaded guilty to the crime.

00:45The victim was ordered to be sent to the Philippines, but he was only arrested in the province.

00:50He was sentenced in Bitay in 2022,

00:53but he was postponed in 2023 because of President Bongbong Marcos' letter to the King of Saudi Arabia.

01:00However, this Saturday, he continued the beating of a Filipino through Qisas or retribution.

01:06If you kill somebody, Qisas means you will also be executed.

01:11According to the DFA, the government did everything, such as allocating blood money for the forgiveness of the victim of the family.

01:22The family of the victim refused to face the Philippines

01:26and the Filipino refused to see his family for the last time.

01:31Thoughts and prayers are with them.

01:33There is nothing that one can do to make it whole, but we will do our best.

01:46Even though the government of Saudi found a way to save the Filipino's life, but...

01:52It's a terrible tragedy and there was very little we had left to do.

01:58We had very few options left.

02:00We tried everything and for many, many years.

02:03And the Saudi government really tried to look and to be sure that the judgment of hanging was actually deserved.

02:21In another case, the DFA did not receive a salary of P52,000 from his employer to give to his family.

02:29In the Department of Migrant Workers, they are now coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs

02:34to bring back the Filipino who was hanged in Saudi.

02:37We are assisting the family.

02:40The DMW has visited the family and assured them that we are supportive.

02:47According to the DFA, there is one Filipino who was in a death row in Saudi Arabia.

02:51There are 83 Filipinos who were in a death row in different parts of the world because of different cases.
