00:23Emil, we are here in Vientiane, the capital of the Lao People's Democratic Republic,

00:28where President Bongbong Marcos arrived at 4 o'clock in the Philippines.

00:36He will visit the ASEAN Summit, which is scheduled to start tomorrow.

00:40Tonight, he will visit the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

00:45The population of this country is only 7 million,

00:48which is less than half of the population of Metro Manila.

00:51Most of the 2,000 Filipinos here are professionals and skilled workers.

00:57Before visiting the ASEAN Summit, the President said that he will give to ASEAN and other dialogue partners

01:02such as America, China, and India, the position of the Philippines in the South China Sea,

01:07where not only Filipinos are being harassed by China, but also other Southeast Asian nations, such as Vietnam.

01:14I intend to champion our advocacies in promoting an open, inclusive, and rules-based international order,

01:23and for the peaceful resolution of any disputes in accordance with international law.

01:38I wish to reassure the public that the Philippine government is doing everything it can

01:44to ensure the safety of over 40,000 Filipino nationals in Lebanon and in Israel.

01:51No Filipino has been reported injured in the crisis.
