00:06:06But now looking forward we have three new couples to add to the mix
00:06:10It's a pivotal part of the experiment because we're introducing these new couples in a way to shake up the group
00:06:17But also to see how they cope in their relationships with new people standing in front of them
00:06:23Well, let's start by taking a look at our first new couple Kate and Matt
00:06:29So Kate and Matt are a more mature couple in this experiment for us 38 and 39
00:06:35They're both going to bring that more sound mature experienced approach and hope
00:06:41Whereas Kate she has never been in love never been in a relationship and in fact no guy has ever said to her

00:06:49So this to her is completely uncharted territory
00:06:55I've been single my whole life
00:06:58So I'm 38 now, and I've never experienced love. I've never had anyone call me their girlfriend
00:07:07And how does that feel most people have marriage and kids by my age I

00:07:19I guess you had to strive it as rejection
00:07:23In high school, I did have boys come up to me and tell me that I was ugly

00:07:31But some things that people say to you at a young age can stick to you
00:07:37When I finished high school any male that showed me attention I kind of took it even if they weren't even great

00:09:51Really quickly and look after a child that was coming on our doorstep in five minutes kind of thing
00:09:58It was challenging it was rewarding and I'd do it again in a heartbeat I

00:10:12And unfortunately, we reached an end and and it all didn't work
00:10:18But now it's time for me to take that second chance at love

00:11:39What really stood out to me about Dion? He's very much a gentleman. He's kind
00:11:42He's caring he's empathic. He comes from a big Italian family, but he's also got a very ambitious
00:11:48Side to him Carolina because she has gone through such difficult times
00:11:52There's something very strong about her where I think that she's
00:11:56Faced a lot of things on her own and really feels like she can get things done on her own
00:12:00And yet when you speak to her, she'll tell you how she wants something different at this point in life
00:12:06And I do think that Dion brings a lot of those things to the table
00:12:10And I do think that Dion brings a lot of those qualities that it can be just very balancing for Carolina. I
00:12:18Was born and raised in Brazil
00:12:23Growing up in Brazil was really a bit harder than living in Sydney. I grew up in Sao Paulo
00:12:31Things were different
00:12:35I grew up without a father
00:12:38He passed away when my mom was pregnant and then when I was 15, I
00:12:47Accidentally felt pregnant
00:12:51It was really hard to be pregnant when I didn't have any support for my family especially from my mom
00:12:58She did not wanted me to go ahead with the pregnancy
00:13:01But
00:13:03I've decided to have my son and it was the best decision I've ever made
00:13:10My son is my best friend. He's my everything
00:13:16But me having a child that young really shaped my dating life I
00:13:22Had a child when I was only 16
00:13:26And now I'm 33 years old and I have a 16 year old
00:13:30It was obviously hard to raise a kid on my own
00:13:36But I'm a fighter I wanted to give my son the best life that I could
00:13:44so I moved to Australia I
